I hated those commercials when they first started the thickburger campaign, when they had that overweight construction worker and repeatedly went in for close-ups of his hands and gut.

Well, I've watched Cowboy Bebop I don't know how many times over, so...

I think I'll see if I can find Yamato, I've heard others speak good things about it as well.

Unfortunately my anime watching has been limited to TechTV, Cartoon Network, and various bits and pieces of many series that I've caught glimpses of.

But I'd like to change that, can anyone suggest some good anime for me to start on?

Well, I would read I, Jedi before you moved any farther. To me, the only other books worth reading after that is the NJO.

But the Correlian Trilogy will help you understand some plots in the NJO better, so you could read that after I, Jedi.

As for Tarkin, I see where you're coming from (and I agree with characters such as Mon Mothma), but Tarkin is the #2 guy in the Empire in ANH. That warrants some sort of backstory in RotS.

I happen to agree with commander here, I don't want Tarkin to have a large part, but at least have him stand in the background and say a few lines.
