What do you mean by restoring them to proper brightness? The lasers or the explosions(sorry, your wording is a little awkward there)? In the original release they had the same color saturation as the Faces. And you're mostly correct, he reduced the saturations for the explosions on the DVDs giving them a purplish hue.

Its much more exciting to play something like Rallisport Challenge or even Colin McRae, but GT4 does have some strong points.

actually i kinda agree with Chaltab...I mean, if its all under the imprint of Lucasbooks now...well, we all know how many inconsistancies Lucas has introduced into the prequals

While I'm sure Lucas can claim a good bit of the blame for adding to the mess, I think it all comes back to the writers themselves. Some of them just created extremely outrageous plots and technology(the whole Callista fiasco and the Galaxy Gun come to mind).
We are all saying that there are inconsistencies, I don't see how you "agree" with Chaltab.
But Chaltab is right in that there are very few considering that the EU is so expansive.

Meh, neither one of them were all that great IMO(the Japanese version being the better of the two of course).
