Official Indiana Jones DVD Release

If you get on forums and try to find out details on little tiny things that MIGHT have been changed....well, suffice to say, that's kind of sad.

For instance, the crawl on the GOUT dvd's isn't the absolute original crawl, but you'd have to take screenshots, analyze it closely, watch it over and over, and if you do find something different, you're bothered by it. That's why if you don't notice any changes while just watching it, then there's no reason to worry.

That's apples and oranges, really. You're talking altering an original film image, versus digitally re-creating something and tacking it on to the start of a film.

I'm not sure why, when it comes to Indiana Jones, people are far more forgiving of the fact that the original, unaltered film has not been re-released on DVD versus Star Wars.

Granted, none of the story content has been changed, but the image was manipulated. I don't think the manipulation is done to the extent that we might be thinking, as far as I know only three cosmetic changes were made (cobra reflection, boulder guide track, matte lines) to 'Raiders.'

It's so minor that it's no wonder so many people are divided on the issue. I take a bigger issue with the colour "correction" that was done than anything else. 'Raiders' used to have an almost sepia-tone quality to it, and now it looks like a technicolour nightmare.

That's just a scan of the old VHS cover.

Look, I'm about as big of an Indiana Jones fan as it gets. If I could watch one movie for the rest of my life, it would be 'Raiders,' not anything to do with Star Wars. I'd take a bullet for Indiana Jones, but not Han Solo.

I don't care how much time, effort, digital polish and care into creating DVD's of the YIJC. They sucked. You can't make a turd into a diamond. The Curse of the Jackal was OK, and the Mystery of The Blue was good just because Ford was in it briefly, but this series should be buried in the Nevada Desert on top of all of the copies of ET for the 2600.

This is coming from a huge fan. The Chronicles bit.

What a loser!!!!

Is he really banned? Anyone know?

He's over at fanedited.com. There is a thread, started by him, about OT.com and he is saying many very confusing things, but it sounds like he's sticking to his story that there will be a proper OOT release next year. I sincerely hope that he is right.

Yes, and he's following this thread.

Whoah, whoah whoah - don't be so quick to perform autofelatio quite yet there, Hedgehog.

The Mods locked down the other threads because it degenerated (much like I predict this one will) into who could yell "Fuck You" louder - not because you were passing up insider information, Deepthroat.

Besides, didn't you just now violate the frigging omerta code of silence on the issue you evoked a few posts back?

FWIW asshat, people (including myself) want to believe you. I'm just not going to blindly trust what you say. If you're right, and I hope you are, the Mods should be here any minute to lock this down and say - "It's best that this not be discussed due to the sensitive nature of the situation, and we have been asked by LFL to lock this down."

When you are proven right, we'll throw you a fucking parade, but until that time, you're just that stinky hobo dancing in the street by himself.

Now I don't have to doubt anything and all those people screaming that I am a liar makes me even more happy.

Then why argue it out on a message board? Why not go to the mainstream press or something, or an entertainment magazine with your imaginary story?

You're a noob here, we get it. You have to understand that there's been, oh, I don't know, maybe 1,000 mouth breathers such as yourself that have come in here over the years and promised "insider information," all of which was disproved.

Every time someone calls you out on it, you come up with some great excuse. Always leave yourself an exit - class liar strategy. Trust me, you say. Why the hell should anyone trust you? Trust needs to be earned, sunshine, not given freely.

The burden is on you to prove the doubters wrong. Go for it. I'm all ears, hombre.

Happy, as in gay? I'm glad you're gay. For a while there, I thought you might be going down on us, what with the cyberbrawl in the other thread, but it's nice to know you came on top in the end.

I look forward to the Mods confirming your information, especially for a guy so well connected that he has the time to make 130 posts in less than a month. Once you're vindicated I hope you can finally come out, throw up your arms and say, "I'm here!" and we'll all embrace you, in a manly way.

So, kudos to you for grabbing the bull by the horn and standing your ground. I'm glad that you're still gay after the cat fight in the other thread. Good luck here now, I'm sure you'll have a ball...perhaps even several!

So, by that rationale, if I, for example, get the old Kenner toy molds and start making new Star Wars toys off of them, then give them to friends who in turn sell them on Ebay, am I not responsible as a bootlegger?

I'm not trying to stir up anything here, I respect what you lads are doing, I just worry of the repurcusions of such a high profile project.

So when tons of the X0's show up on Ebay, selling for a profit are you guys gonna step back, raise your hands and say "Not our fault?"

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but if this is the best possible Star Wars preservation available, as you have clearly advertised, what exactly is the plan when it floods the market and Lucasfilm finally acknoweldges the issue publically?

Are you guys culpable on some level? I think it's open to debate, perhaps not in this thread, but I think it would be wise to recognize that Lucasfilm is not going to be too happy with you guys.

Of course you guys won't profit on them, but someone, somewhere will - and I wouldn't be suprised if you were contacted.

It is going to matter to LFL how, who and where the sellers got their product. But seeing as how you guys are the smartest kids on the block and seem to have your stuff together, I'm sure you've covered your back end already...

Thanks Solo - I'm sure he meant no harm. The covers were done while I was working on about 3 other sets, and I was having a busy personal life, so my QC wasn't as good - hence the innaccurate runtime.

It has come to my attention that I would be better serving the community with designs similar to what Darksaber did rather than the template I use to make the disc labels...I don't actually print onto disc so I didn't know any better.

As always, I appreciate constuctive criticism which allow me to hone my skills and bring you guys better things each time...I'm working on something now that I hope will blow you all away!

Thanks Solo & Saber.

Still a cool cover and labels for a series I'm not exactly fond of.

It's not about what you like or dislike - it's coming in here and making a demand, and insulting othes. Now go away, sit in a corner and think about your attitude - if you choose to come back don't be such a mouthbreather.
