OK. Sorry.
How about a thread about famous Americans of mixed racial ancestry?

What if Homer made a prequel to the Iliad and the Odyssey that was just as bad as the PT? Those two works would never have become the classics of western civilization as they are now.
I imagine that, much like 99.9% of all work created by all artists throughought time, the less than stellar works would have be relegated to the dustbin of history and we'd still like the "Illiad" and the "Odyssey."

The lack of a real love interest in the films and in the small amount of EU I had read at the time gave me that impression.
But wasn't Luke all puppy love on Leia in SW and ESB?
I think they kept throwing love interests at Luke in the EU (Mara Jade and the hologram woman in the ship) because it's easy and expected. A solo hero, more focused on his Jedi mission than on the dames is a less common character and would have required more creativity on the part of the bankrupt EU.

They're a firm from Florida, so this building doesn't really fit in with the NYC look, but since it's near Time Square they get away with it, somewhat, plus the city is changing so the look fits in part with the Disney-fication which is polluting the once vibrant city....
If by Disney-fication you mean that building looks like it's from TRON you're right.
And if by polluting you mean making more awesome you're right.
TRON RULES!

Pretending water is a dangerous substance and using an uncommon name for it is a meme? You kids these days... I just don't get it.
I do that to my students every year. It's a lesson on criitical thinking. I didn't know it was a meme.
Did you know that every person who has ever died of cancer has been found to have dihydrogren monoxide in their system?
This thread needs to know its damn role and be about THE ROCK!
It doesn't MATTER if Ziggy joins the game!
This thread are not silly. I am post here all night. Badbye!

You don't know what that means. But that's the second Silence of the Lambs trapped in a pit refrence this week.

Would you tell a bride she looks fat on her wedding day? Even if it's true?
Of course not. But that's not being dishonest.
Acting how people want you to act at a job interview is just an extension of that type of behavior. It's not dishonest... it just is.

What are you trying to say?
I'd want to be Quinlan Voss.
I'm fair skinned, and that zinc-oxide he wears would be good to have on Tatooine.
Back in the day, The Rock was so popular (or 'over' in rasslin parlance) that he could do no wrong.
I remember once he did a running elbow slam on a BOOK to show his distaste for the author, and the crowd went crazy! Those were the days.

but what if all doctors refuse to give treatment to unvaccinated kids? Also what right does a doctor have to refuse to treat a patient? Under just what grounds can a doctor refuse to treat a patient. If a doctor has the right to decide not to treat whatever patient he/she doesn't want to treat, what is to stop a doctor from not treating a patient cause he/she doesn't like the patient's skin color or religion or sexual preference?
I believe there are extensive rules about under what conditions a doctor can refuse to see a patient. Much of it falls under the same laws that dictate that a restaurant owner can't keep all the colored folk out.
If I hire a mechanic and he doesn't fix my car because I'm in a biracial marriage, he's violating those rules.
If I hire a mechanic and he doesn't fix my car because I insist he not use a wrench and work in the dark while doing so, that's a different case legally.
Ethically, the American Academy of Pediatrics has decided it's ethical to dismiss a patient who refuses to vaccinate their child. Obviously this can be argued, but they are a governing body on these matters.

Pertussis is an extremely serious upper respiratory infection and is highly contagious, and worst of all, it can have permanent debilitating effects on your child. We don't typically get pertussis or often hear about it... because thanks to modern science (wooo!) we have vaccinations against it. We don't live in the middle ages anymore, there really is no reason to leave your child unprotected and vulnerable.
And Pertussis (aka whooping cough aka 100 Day Cough) is making a comeback due to parents not getting their kids vaccinated and adults not keeping up with their boosters.

Despicable Me.
Actually a very funny little movie.

Also, all three had these multiple choice questions on them(about 20-50 of them). The questions seem useless to me. Each question seems to have 1 obvious answer that they are looking for. They ask you what you would do in a giving situation or to describe a certain aspect of your personality or something like that. I am sure most people just give the answers the company wants to hear. I could easily give all the right answers if I wanted to, regardless of whether or not the answers are true for me. But what did I do? I answered the questions honestly. It was either answer honestly or pretend that I was someone I am not and give the "right" answer. I was hoping that someone would look more deeply into the answers I gave instead just flatly rejecting me cause I didn't give the "right" answer. But of course, they just have a compute just the answers I gave against the answers they were looking for and rejected me. Now I suppose someone who is really less of a match for the job than me, but more dishonest in their answers than me, is going to get their application in the hands of a real human. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems its either lie and get the job, or be honest and remain unemployed. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am pissed. : (
Im with you. I hate the idea of an onlie application, by definition an inhuman filtering system, asking these questions as if it can deem what sort of person you are.

Cos that movie is s***. It opens with 2 Jedi Knights having a cup of tea, a sit-down and a chat for Chrissakes!
While TPM has it's flaws, the fact nothing blows up or dies in the first 4 1/2 minutes doesn't seem like a major problem for me.

Then I propose this thread should be used to talk about The Rock, and how cool he was.
TheBoost should go make his own thread if TheBoost wants to talk about The Rock.
You might just start your own thread called "Refer to Yourself in the 2nd Person" just to spite you.
Dang, you find that confusing.
Then I propose this thread should be used to talk about The Rock, and how cool he was.
