2001-2006 SW DVD covers as blu-ray covers (WIP)
Time

Pretty much, I was thinking, “Dang, those old Star Wars covers look really nice, shame they never used them going into the blu-ray era.”

As of right now, this is an ongoing project, and I’m going out of order, really as I find good high-res scans of the original DVD covers. (help will be appreciated) I’m only doing widescreen versions, and I’m doing both the regular and GOUT versions of the OT.

THE COVERS:

Hope you guys like them! They should fit well in a standard Blu-Ray case.

The Great Mysteries of Gaming: Horror-ized Edition (an experimental re-edit)
Time

I decided to see what would happen if I were to take the Scott the Woz video, “The Great Mysteries of Gaming” and focus on its story, which revolves around a murder mystery.

This is essentially a proof-of-concept edit, to see if I can take a funny video, and make it at least slightly scary.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This edit will be FAR shorter than the original video, as I am truncating both the intro and the gaming mystery talk.

Changelist:
After opening lightning flash, video goes straight to Scott finding the invitation in his closet.

Whenever Scott turns the radio on to his gaming talk, the audio from the radio can be heard continuing well after it cuts to Scott arriving at the party.

Everything remains the same until Chet’s death, heralded by a new stinger, lifted from Halloween II, along with a new, colder color grade, with added grain persisting through the remainder of the video.

All music from here on out has been replaced.

Stinger at the snap zoom on to the piece of hair by Chet’s body

Video remains unaltered (except for music) until Jeb’s death.

Jeb’s death has been made much more brutal, in keeping with the theme of 80’s slasher flicks. Multiple blood splashes and another stinger have been added, including blood that impacts the window.

The rest of the video remains unchanged except for the music.

A new end credits sequence replaces the end card, crediting both the original video and anything used in the re-edit.

There will also be some other cool stuff. (VHS effect on the tv, snazzy vocal isolation, etc.)

I will do more versions, so feel free to suggest more stuff for me to add!

Last movie seen
Time

I watched 2001 for the first time last night, and I must say, there’s definitely some worth in it, but I still don’t understand a lot of the hype. Even for my taste, the first half has too much monkey and way too much music. The second half is very much the superior portion of the film. Granted, I’m not used to the style of Kubrick, but as this is my first Kubrick film, I might warm up to it later on, for now, though, it’s a decent 3 monolithic slabs out of 5.

I think I might leave the pod bay doors closed for a while.
