any news? hope all is well

I’m probably in the great minority here but I really like that’s it’s just Luke and Leia staring, kinda like they are the twin suns of tatooine, It just feels right. but I also want Ben incorporated, so maybe a cool idea would be to keep luke and leia alone, and then at some point either when she smiles or some point in the middle of the sunset scene maybe a close up of his force ghost appearing and smiling as the falcon takes off, the last couple of shots would be Luke and Leia, then Rey, the sunset, Ben appearing and smiling in a close up, alone in the frame as he looks into his fathers ship taking of for the last time. And then the falcon take off.

When Anakin is in padmes apartment looking at a tablet it would be cool to make it so he is checking in on Ashoka on mandalore, like Rex reporting through a recorded message or something

I moved the moment of Ben reviving Rey to BEFORE she beats Palps. I am sure everyone here can take this idea and make it better, if it works at all.

Again, I have nothing but admiration for what everyone is contributing! I know when this is all done, the result of the group effort will be amazing.

This right here is Absolutely brilliant. his death feels more appropriate, it adds more weight to the climax, you can add leia’s voice as well as her ghost and Even bens ghost to the confrontation. I think there needs to be some edits of Palpatine laughing or reacting but otherwise great idea, and maybe put the voices of all the Jedi to when she’s reflecting the lighting

The music that played as Luke revealed to Leia that they were family plays as Lando reaches out to serve as a father figure to Jannah, and he may very well be. This is a bit of shorthand, and is the only thing that tells the savvy viewer that he’s not just picking her up.

I like the music as Ben dies. It touches on the big theme of the movie on the soundtrack that strikes me as a combination of Kylo’s and Rey’s themes, which is nice. I don’t really want to shoehorn in a love theme between other characters into that moment.

I agree, it played in clone wars and rebels I think it’s also morphed into the theme of teachers and students

are you removing the Jabba’s son subplot from the movie?

Are you still planning on dropping it as they come? Or all of it at once?

The new rey skywalker audio switch is incredible, I actually like the ending a lot more just by changing the delivery. Great idea, I straight up got goosebumps

That’s cool, I understand the concerns with them being drunks, but I do think it makes rey palpatine less jarring and strengthens the trilogy, unfortunately the whole rey palpatine thing is kind of a very important aspect of the movie, I think keeping her a palpatine is the best course of action

I had two other ideas for later dialogue:

When we catch back up with 3PO speaking to the stormtrooper, we could hear 3PO rambling on about himself, something like, “I am fluent in over 6 million forms of communication!”

Meanwhile, the stormtrooper is trying to interrupt him. “Please, stop talking.” 3PO rambles on. Then he says, “Ugh, kill me now.” Then Rey shoots him.

3PO naturally freaks out. Maybe we can take some 3PO screams from the other movies.
You could replace the line, “Oh my, my first laser battle” with “This is madness!”, which fits better here, and/or random screams each time she kills another person, and then maybe have 3PO stutter his response to Rey. “They- they haven’t come back. Oh my…”

Alternatively, it could be funny to reuse the line, “I was programmed for etiquette, not destruction!” But it might not fit (or be isolated enough to use)

That kill me line is really good

I think selling her for drinking money after being disgraced by everyone and having what ren said last film be true is a good way to strengthen the plot, the characters, reys arc, and the theme

I don’t like how they sold her to protect her, it’s honesty much better if they just sold her fro the drinking money, maybe palpatines son was discarded and disgraced by everyone because he is the son of the emperor, he turns into a drunk and sells her, kylo Ren can say that in the scene on the ship by getting his line from the last Jedi “I didn’t lie to you, your parents sold you for drinking money”. Works in every aspect and it even makes his lines towards the end of the movie better, and I cheesy “my parents were strong” it would be more effective that everyone in her family was a bad person

I agree, I like the angle where palpatines son could have been disgraced by everyone due to his fathers actions and became a drunk, maybe kylo can say something to alude to that, or maybe make him say “I didn’t lie to you, they sold you for drinking money” I think it keeps the palpatine thing but doesn’t entirely discount the last film

I thought this video was very insightful on the score and I do feel like rescoring is the best way to go, unfortunately the only piece of music on par with the other films is the new motif that plays when they all hug at the end in my opinions
