VINTAGE MOVIE POSTER RE-IMAGINED AS STAR WARS POSTERS
Time

Hey! Yeah, I am having a lot of difficulties trying to set up an account with Imgur so I can post my images. It won’t allow me to create an account. The site keeps stating they can’t use my phone number or that I tried to register too quickly. If anyone knows of a simple alternative, I am all ears. I am eager to share these posters

VINTAGE MOVIE POSTER RE-IMAGINED AS STAR WARS POSTERS
Time

THE INSPIRATION

Welcome all! I am super excited to finally contribute to this site! I have been a longtime stalker (🤣🤫) of everyone’s amazing work and talent. I have always wanted to add to the community by editing the whole saga so that it has more connectiveness, but my ambitions are so big I don’t have the time, money, or the materials. Great news for me is… I love graphic arts, Star Wars, and vintage movie posters and then the lightbulb shined! With that being said, l am excited to share with you my new art project that I started during the pandemic. I was originally a graphic designer, but since I started working in Renewable Energy, I haven’t had time to work on my design skills. So, I decided to start this independent project by taking vintage movie posters and re-imagine them as Star Wars posters. I hope that you all enjoy my work, and I would love to hear any feedback and future suggestions.

THE METHOD

The method to my madness. How do I combine the right vintage poster with the right characters from Star Wars? I start by screen shopping for posters at the website film/art gallery (https://filmartgallery.com). Once I find a couple of posters that really grabs my attention, I collect all of them and make collage in Adobe Illustrator and study them all in detail. Once I find a poster, I can relate to a character, I gather all the necessary material and images from google, take them to photoshop, and then I get to work. With each poster I post I’ll explain why I choose it.

Thanks!

THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES >> THE BOUNTY HUNTER JANGO FETT

CLINT EASTWOOD >> TEMUERA MORRISON

JANGO AND ARMY

Jango-Army-Camparison.jpg

My method. This one stood out right off the bat. You got Clint Eastwood who is a Hollywood bad ass then you have Temuera Morrison who is also a bad ass. Check those comparisons, but the thing that really caught my eye, that I knew would fit perfect for Jango, was the quote at the bottom, “an army of one”. BINGO! Jango and the clone army…. an army of one. So, I went to work. Enjoy!

Jango-Army-Posting.jpg

PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID >> BOBA FETT AND HAN SOLO

BEST OF SCOUNDRELS. DEADLIEST OF ENEMIES

Boba-Han-Comparison.jpg

My method. This one stood out more for the imagery. Everyone knows that one of the genres that George Lucas wanted to implement into his space opera was the Old West. Right when I saw this poster the image immediately entered into my head, Boba and Han. I wanted to catch the feeling that Han had such a big bounty on his head, just like Jabba stated in ANH, that his Wanted Gram was anywhere and everywhere. I also liked messing around with the quote at the bottom right, “Best of enemies. Deadliest of friends.” To “Best of Scoundrels. Deadliest of Enemies.” I wanted to put that little Star Wars twist in the quote while relaying that these two are true enemies. Enjoy!

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

Watched the edit a few nights ago… Loved it! The pacing flowed so much better. I think my favorite part of this edit was Kylo’s visions to reconstruct the helmet. The force ghost at the end was the cherry on top. I just wish Anakin had a moment with both Rey and Kylo. It’s always been his story and he was VERY absent from the ST. I figured since Luke, Leia, nor Han couldn’t save Ben it would be Anakin to bring him back to the light. Oh well! Great job to everyone involved

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

Ady!

I know adding or editing any more scenes in A NEW HOPE is out of your wheel house since you’re focused on RETURN OF THE JEDI… but… I had a great idea, well, possibly a great idea. . I thought it would be cool to repurpose the Jabba scene between Han and Jabba in Mos Eisley Space Port. Is there a way to slightly alter the dialog and replace Jabba (either the human or CGI) with Boba Fett? That way it would give a little more background and tension between Han and Boba throughout the rest of the Trilogy. If this is even plausible to edit in? It would be cool seeing Boba being an ambassador for Jabba. Seeing Jabba trust Boba to negotiate for him and at the same time telling Han that he is lucky Jabba hasn’t set him(Boba)lose on Han. It also would be funny seeing Boba mentioning Greedo’s death, maybe saying something a long the lines, “You fried poor Greedo, good, I didn’t like him that much anyways.” or at the end of the conversation Han could say, “Boba, you’re a wonderful clone” or “Boba, your a wonderful Mandolrine”. That would be an example of Han poking at him because he is a clone and he is not really a Mando (as of now) we’ll have to see how the rest of the Mandolrine plays out. Thoughts?

Info: Has anyone heard more about Star Ep9: Rise of Skywalker’s The J.J. Abrams Cut??
Time

There is no way that JJ is proud of this cut. This is not the caliber of film he would make. I know he is a hit and miss guy (some times), but this movie was a mess, not a JJ standard. I guarantee there was a lot of executives who were meddling with the story. I am sure there is a cut that JJ would prefer to have out, but the big wigs have the final say. JJ, or any director/actor, is always gonna respond to the media with excellent feed back regarding their work because it is in the best interest of the company and the film. He’s not gonna bash the hand that feeds him or something he co-created. He probably is just done with the lack of leadership and direction going on at LUCAS-FILM.

Source?

JJ Abrams?

The fact there are movies that were “meddled in” (again - movies having turbulent production is a fact of movies. Was Empire Strikes Back “Meddled with?” Or just MADE?) doesn’t mean JJ’s was. I’m taking the history of the production (which is very public) and plenty of their own words (just as public) and also taking into account the man’s larger filmography, of which this is very consistent.

There is no “secret cut” - the question of one is clickbait from conspiracist YouTubers who are scumming for subscribes. It gains traction because people think the act of making movies is much more clandestine and covert than it really is, and they’re not familiar (despite watching hours upon hours of behind the scenes footage they’ve since mythologized) with things like “Assembly Cuts” so when they hear about a film having an Assembly Cut, they “report” it to their breathless subscribers as some sort of secret hidden cut that’s being withheld from the TRUE FANS.

Unless you’re trying to gain subscribers for Google ad money, there’s nothing in it for anyone to perpetuate any idea beyond “JJ Abrams made a bad movie.” He made a bad movie full of bad decisions. He’s done it before. So has George Lucas. Star Wars fans should, at this point, have come to terms with the fact it’s a 50/50 shot their movie is going to be ok when it comes out. There’s no real point in searching for excuses when it doesn’t, because it happens so frequently it shouldn’t be a surprise or a Miss Marple Mystery to dig into as to WHY it happened.

Abrams did this to himself. Dunno why anyone would think otherwise. All the evidence is out in the open and offered up freely. He’s not a beleagured artist being oppressed by suits. He IS the suits. If there was corporate meddling, he IS that meddling. He was called in to “fix” the movie, and this is what his fix looked like. He blew it, and that’s on him. It’s not really any more complicated than that. There’s no secret cut of this movie.

Im a graphic designer not much of an editor, but I’ll take a stab at it since I have creative cloud and know how to use, Audition, Premier, and After Effects. I think its time I contribute something to the community instead of being a stalker.

FYI: Mace from the “The Ewok Adventures” is the best Star Wars character, possibly even of all cinematic history, that ever was created. So deep and complex! 😛

So I am going to write this down one more time… It got over looked probably because I rarely offer any suggestions, but I thought this idea of mine was pretty solid regarding moving the chess scene.

The idea of moving the chess scene is awesome and its wonderfully executed! I do have an idea… I think it would be great if there is a way to add a clip with R2 and 3PO watching the game. They are the only constant in the saga so they should be there in the end with their friends. Below is a scene from AOTC where 3PO tells R2, “for a mechanic you do a excessive amount of thinking.” There is enough dialog from 3PO to make him say, “For a Wookie you do a excessive amount of thinking.” Then you can do a cut to R2 doing a silly chirping noise like the link below. In that way they’re all together and all four of them are giving Chewie a hard time. Just like a bunch of siblings.

My thoughts are you see Chewie thinking then it cuts to 3PO and he says his line, then cut to R2 making a silly chirp noise basically agreeing with 3PO, then we cut to Poe and Fin, then the finally scene with Rey and BB-8 Thoughts?

I saw your post and I though it was neat idea, anything that adds more closure to the ending is welcome in my book! Just needs someone with the chops to implement it.

Oh, yeah keep everything all the same just add 3PO and R2 to the scene. I figured they have seen it all they should probably be there at the end with their friends.

This edit helps cement the idea that these people are a family now, instead of Rey being completely alone on a desert planet at the end. Her friends are there waiting for her : )

It also helps explain why BB-8 is there, he’s just a curious little friend : )

TFA: A Gentle Restructure (Released)
Time

Hal,

Finally watched your TFA Edit! Loved it! Love the new opening crawl! Gives you a good idea the state of the galaxy. Along with the deleted Leia scene you get even a better understanding of things. I really enjoy the placement of Star Killer destroying the New Republic during the climatic battle. Gives it way more emotional weight to the entire scene and movie.

I know why you deleted Kylo Ren saying Fins code name at the beginning of the film because you thought it was too on the nose, but I always liked that line because I felt like it foreshadowed Fins force sensitivity. Kylo could sense him during the battle. I always thought that’s the direction the film was going for even before Rise of Skywalker. I think TLJ kind of ditched that Ark for Fin.

Thoughts?

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

Alright Hal,

Before I start I love your new scroll!

I have a thought for the TROS edit! Hear me out! You might think this is either silly, dull, or a good idea.

Some of my biggest grips with the film was the reveal of Palps being Reys grandfather. I don’t necessarily have a problem with it, but it was more of the execution. It just seem so flat and on the nose.

My other issues is that this film was supposed to be a wrap of the whole saga in its entirety, but it didn’t feel like the film succeeded in that goal.

So I have a solutions to fix both of those personal problems.

When Kylo reveals Reys back story I whole heartily believe that her parents still should be no one, but there is still a twist to her story, and no it’s not that Palps is her grandfather. Here is my interpretation:

Palp reveals to Kylo that Rey is more of threat to him than Kylo realizes. This will obviously be revealed to Rey by Kylo on his Star Destroyer and with him wearing the mask this is very plausible with a voice over. Kylo reveals that she is conceived of the force just like his grandfather. She was indirectly created by Palps just like he manipulated the force to indirectly to create Anakin. So “in a certain point of view” she could be his “daughter” with his “powers”. But Palps wants her dead because history will repeat itself and just like Anakin destroyed him the first time she could repeat that pattern because she is one and the same as Anakin and a threat.

Palps could still have her parents killed because he felt a tremor in the force when she was conceived and wanted her found and dead, but they did hide her for her protection.

This revelation to Rey and Kylo could also explain more of the Force Dyad. They are both products of immaculate force conception. They share a bond because their bloodlines are directly connected to the living force itself.

Those are my initial ideas in a nutshell, but I feel like this is way more compelling and it brings the whole Saga to its full circle, force conception to force conception. Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker. I also feel with this story her taking the Skywalker name is deserving and makes sense because “in a certain point of view” she is a Skywalker.

Hope you like it. No offense if you don’t. Excited to hear your thoughts.

Love it!

I never been more excited for deleted scenes in my whole life.

I feel like there is gonna be a lot of “feel in the gap” scenes from ROS.

The one thing I am really hoping for, is a extended Mustafar deleted scene. One with dialog not just action.

ChainsawAsh said:

I think teasing Palpatine in TLJ like this, then ending the crawl for TROS with something like “Supreme Leader Kylo Ren searches the Unknown Regions of the galaxy for the mysterious dark power behind Snoke, his former master” with no mention of Palpatine until Ren finds him on Exegol.
