I believe he called Trump an “Old lunatic”. To which Trump’s response was “I’m not old”.

Hopefully, going forward, when a man in power says to a girl/boy (who is his junior in an organisation and/or in age) that if they tell anybody how he behaved, they’ll “Never work in this industry again!”. They will just laugh in his face, remind him about what happened to assholes like Weinstein and Spacey and then reach for Social Media. Or even better, the men in power will have worked this out already and alter their behaviour. They have so much more to lose.
With all due respect to people’s religions, it irks me when politicians tell me that I need to pray. I’m not religious, and we are supposedly in a country that values separation of church and state. Yet every time some catastrophe happens, the first thing politicians tell us is that we need to pray. Not “pray if you’re religious”, but “we need to pray”. While I don’t mind if people want to pray, I don’t appreciate politicians telling me that I need to become religious.
It’s not a big deal, it just irks me. I realize I’m probably in an extreme minority.
Eh, there’s this whole “separation of church and state” thing that literally everyone seems to have utterly forgotten in this country, so you’re not alone there.
No one is forcing anyone to pray.
Correct me if I’m wrong (which I probably am) but haven’t school kids been required to hold their hands on their hearts and recite “Under god” everyday since 1954? Seems close enough to mandatory prayer to me.
criticize them if they act like asking for prayer is enough, or if they use prayer to mask their lack of doing anything about guns
That’s what Wheaton was doing.
There is nothing wrong with our leaders playing the violin… as long they are also providing adequate fire-fighting services and fire-safety legislation.

No one was telling him to be silence about whatever it is he thinks should be done about these mass shootings and guns.
No one? Are you sure?
Well who do you think was telling him to be silent about whatever he thinks should be don about mass shooting and guns? Even if someone did, he doesn’t have to listen to them. 1st amendment.
Just one example…

What you are perhaps missing, is that some people feel waaaaay more anger and frustration about this issue, than they feel sadness. They should feel both.
As I was saying, many people are so far beyond sadness with these mass shootings, that all they feel now is anger. Being sad about it isn’t going to stop it happening again, directing your anger at hypocrites like Ryan, just might.

I’m sure they felt sad and in need of prayer, long, long ago but the amount of death and the amount of inaction (from politicians like Ryan) since then, mean that him saying people “need our prayers right now” yet again, instead of people “need us actually do something for once!” seem pretty f*cking insulting and hypocritical. Then like I said, criticize Ryan for not doing whatever it is you think he should do, instead of criticizing him for saying the people effected need our prayers. They are not mutually exclusive activities.
The people don’t need his prayers, they need his action, so more families don’t face the same situation. Ryan asking people to pray for dead families, that he happily did nothing to save is crocodile tears. Tomorrow he’ll also do nothing and the day after that there will be another mass-shooting and he’ll call for prayers again. Rinse and repeat. Ryan praying for his own soul would be more productive.

Also a big bleep you goes out to Wil Wheaton. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/11/05/wil-wheaton-angers-people-faith-with-furious-tweet-at-paul-ryan.html
Notice Wheaton does make a genuine apology (to people of faith), in that same article for losing his cool towards Ryan.

Much like the robot’s real life counterpart, it soon got tired of winning.

“Donald Trump’s commerce secretary (Wilbur Ross) is shown to have a stake in a firm dealing with Russians sanctioned by the US.”
This could be interesting.
Now there are saying the truck driver in NY attack shouted “Allahu Akbar!”
It’s officially confirmed that it was an Islamist attack because Trump has already condemned it on Twitter three times. If it was some white Christian guy, Trump would be unavailable for comment for several days. Sad but true.
Condolences to the people of New York, who have suffered the most in this never ending war.
What bad 70’s math textbook was Sarah Huckabee Sanders reading from when I turned on the telly this morning? What the hell was that?
I’m starting to miss Sean Spicer. His reactions had he been press secretary today would have been interesting.
She is the Pence, to Spicer’s Trump. Remember that 😉
Amazing.

Thought in light of todays news this would be very fitting.
This is amazing.

File that under “wishful thinking” but I am wishing that think 😉 If anybody remotely connected with Trump gets arrested, I’ll be amazed. People with power and money typically don’t get arrested, like the rest of us would. It would be nice to be wrong.
I particularly enjoyed the bit that implied Conway would carry on talking bullsh*t while being dragged way, without skipping a beat. Probably true.
I’m almost through watching Ken Burns’ superb 10-part Vietnam doc. The parallels between Nixon and Trump on attitude, actions and personality are very interesting. For example, Johnson knew that Nixon was colluding with a foreign governemnt against America to try and influence the election. Johnson warned him off and hushed it up. I wonder what Obama knew about Trump’s pre-election “activities” and what he did about it.
^ You didn’t tell us what party he is from. There is no way I could know from your post.
In completely coincidental news, the reward for information leading to the impeachment and removal of Trump has been increased to $10,025,000.
😃
darn information that would lead to Trumps impeachment and get me $10,025.000. I wish I had that info.
If I had it, you all could have it for free.

What could encapsulate the spirit of “Land of the free and home of the brave” better than a rule that forces citizens to behave EXACTLY the way that the powers-that-be tell them to, with any slight deviation from excepted norms being be met with summary punishment.
It’s not a law that the government has mandated against citizens.
I never said it was. I was talking about the policy not being in the spirit of what the anthem is about.
chyron was not referring to you. He was referring to NeverarGreat.
By quoting me and posting it before NeverarGreat had made his post? FAKE NEWS!

I never said it was. I was talking about the policy not being in the spirit of what the anthem is about… however, in practice, the chief representative of the government openly threatening the NFL is much the same thing as a government mandate.

I humbly submit this new anthem from Dr House…
Team America theme of course. 😉
I don’t think so.
It would be an interesting experiment if it was performed at a sporting event. I’d bet a lot of people would stand up for it.
bah
The people standing for it ironically and the people standing for it on face-value could unite as one!
we shouldn’t have a national anthem at all.
What would be played when an American wins a gold medal at the olmpics
Eye of the Tiger by Survivor? Tell me with hand on heart, that wouldn’t be better.
Much less kneeling involved under Trump… anthem, or not.
Cars are heavily regulated, but pretty much anyone can drive them, no matter how incompetent.
You don’t have driving tests to determine competency? You don’t have driving licenses that the courts can revoke due to mental incompetence, physical disability, or dangerous behaviour?
