Pfft. You clearly haven't watched JP hard enough...

To quote Dennis Nedry "Some of the minor systems, they might go on or off but it’s ah, nothing to worry about, just a simple thing". Obvious really.

iplayer has the same thing. It means you can skip back and forwards during live TV. JP was just ahead of it's time... it was a Unix system afterall.

I cannot get past the Tyrannosaurus paddock problem, where the ground magically drops 100 feet between T. rex's escape and Grant's/Lex's descent on the wire.  I cannot think of a reasonable justification.

Never heard of erosion? From Wikipedia: "In geomorphology and geology, erosion is the action of exogenic processes (such as water flow or wind) which remove soil and rock from one location on the Earth's crust, then transport it to another location where it is deposited". Remember Hurricane Clarissa was in full effect during the T.Rex padock incident, which could easily have caused the necessary water and wind damage to displace the earth beyond the fence. Also nobody would have heard the rapid subsidence over all the screaming and nashing of teeth.

There you go, hope that helped.

Which audio mix of ANH is he using? I would think the 1997 theatrical DTS is the one that hasn't been futzed around with for home video.

I'm sure it's possible to do. I just didn't have any success with it is all. Others may. From the videos I've watched you have to have the sync totally perfect, the volume levels perfect, the pitch perfect etc to get any effect. Clearly I didn't have any of those things right, so I'd give it a go Frink.

I wish somebody here, who is an audio-editing-jedi-master would have a go at this concept. Because a music-free OT would be the fanediting rosetta stone.

FYI: I think I tried with the center channel from the DE, combined with the isolated score from the DE.

I did a little The Force Awakens color analysis.

That's another ignorance here.

You can't also really say the color-grading is not final. Because movies are not a production that works in incremental steps, as the color-grading will be upgraded to the final look and become better. The initial look is right there. The only thing changing will be minimal cleanup in various elements. Not the general look.

The same argument is made about cgi effects. They do not upgrade them as if it's some kind of a software. The final composition of a movie or scene should be there right from the beginning.

That's a bunch of arrant nonsense ^. Wrong in every respect.

Watch this video comparing what you would describe as the "Final" colours and "Final" FX in the Hobbit trailer, to the "Actual final" colours and FX...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi94JM3zkxk

Also, as anybody who has ever watched a Deleted Scene before will tell you, the colour grading can be vastly different.

Episode VI: Return of the Ridiculousness

^ Nice thinking.

Assuming you want to redub Ackbar with him freaking out, being scared and admitting defeat at the drop of a hat? (Ackbar turned up to 11 basically). What voices could you do that with? One I'd suggest would be Hudson from Aliens...

Lando: "Break off the attack. The shield is still up" etc etc
Flight crew: "Admiral, we have enemy ships in Sector 47"
Ackbar: "Well, that's great. That's just f***in' great, man. Now what the f**k are we supposed to do? We're in some real pretty s**t now, man!"

Combine that with Bill Paxton crying and wetting himself from 'True Lies' and you'd have something

You're gonna do an analysis based on that Falcon shot which is distorted, blurry, compressed and clearly taken on a phone pointed at a movie screen?? Also, it's June and the film is released in December so the film won't even have been given the final grade yet.

I'm not saying you are wrong (JJ's last movie was horribly coloured) but you can't really draw any conclusions from that image.

the way the footage of the POV terrain shot in the Landspeeder whilst searching for R2-D2 is not a POV shot.

It's meant to be for the scanner on the landspeeder and is meant to directly preceed Luke announcing he found R2 on the scanner to C3PO. So it was meant to be an element similar to the Sand people binocular shot.

The Terrain is meant to be Blue in color with red display overlays

I think I know what you mean, but just to clarify could you post some screengrabs from google of the shots you are referring to?

don't look at it as a comment on morality, legality, or even today's social acceptability.

...and...

darth_ender said:

Thanks imperialscum... I appreciate you seeing my intended point rather than the morality point.

I made no moral comment on what you said. I pointed out one is with consent, the other isn't.

darth_ender said:

the primary function of sex is reproduction, with the secondary of sharing love. Homosexuality is clearly not in line with the primary function. The same could be said about pedophilia or zoophelia.

The same could be said of hetrosexual sex and if you really want to stretch this stupid analogy, pedophilia can result in reproduction. So that makes it okay?

darth_ender said:

There are those who experience such attraction who even argue that they simply are another sexual orientation and shouldn't be persecuted for such attraction.

Those people are wrong as you know very well because consent cannot be given.

darth_ender said:

Don't read it any differently than I intend. Just read the point.

What you said and what you intended to say may be two different things. Which is why I said...

Ryan McAvoy said:

I'm sure you'll argue that paragraph doesn't say "Being gay is like being a pedophile" but yeah it does. Children and animals can't give consent, adults can. You aren't an idiot, so I know you understand this distinction. So why make a post like that?

Again for the last time, I'm sure you are intelligent enough to know what consent means, so why ignore it to make an offensive post the way you did.

I like you most of the time Ender, but when you occasionally say insane things like...

darth_ender said:

the differences in sexual orientation are in many ways analogous to the differences between normal adults and pedophiles.  I am certain this will cause offense, but the parallels are many, regardless.  The big difference is that it is socially wrong for adults to have sexual relations with children.  Similarly, there are those who wish to have sex with animals, or sex with close relatives, but such things are not acceptable socially.

Sorry but f*ck you. I'm sure you'll argue that paragraph doesn't say "Being gay is like being a pedophile" but yeah it does. Children and animals can't give consent, adults can. You aren't an idiot, so I know you understand this distinction. So why make a post like that?
