Burning at the slowest speed will only result in errors, you should burn at the speed the drive is rated for.

Completely false. If the slowest speed produces errors on your discs, then your burner is faulty. Higher speeds are otherwise always more likely to produce difficult-to-read discs.

Also note that supported burning speeds are encoded onto blank writeable media too.

I know, it's surprising and not what you'd expect, but try it yourself. Burn two identical discs, one at the lowest speed and one at the speed its rated for and compare the quality of the burn with a program like Nero CD Speed. I think you'll find in most cases that the slow burn produces worse results.

I just want to point out that "un-flipping" these sorts of shots change the entire composition and the way the eye and the person interpret the shot. If the flipped shot isn't something that would be immediately noticeable, I would just say to leave it alone. It was probably flipped for good reason.

Empire used to really scare me as a kid.
Time

I loved the movies as a kid, but I remember back in '97 being terrified with the shot showing the Wampa missing his arm. Had my parents tell me when it was over. I think I was more squeamish than anything, I don't recall being afraid of much else.

I also remember having a lot of lines/parts which didn't make any sense to me as a kid make complete sense after watching them a few years later. Sort of a revelation.

I wouldn't say so, ReplayGain, which analyzes the perceived loudness, reports -3.41dB, which isn't too loud (Your ROTJ Edit returns -4.26; louder, but most albums are louder still) Really, you should master is as loud as it can be without any clipping or unnecessary compression. More of the bits are being used this way, and any adjustments to the volume can be made through an amp.

They all look over-satured, perhaps with the exception of http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb298/rpvee/vlcsnap-2009-12-04-14h52m31s35.png in which case her lips look over-satured, but her skin tone is fine. I still don't think that's how the original movie looked and I'm pretty sure Ady's CC goals are to revert it to pre-SE?

I think maybe you should start working with some software that's more fitting for what you're doing. Audacity is great for cutting and arranging audio files, but not so when you need to process a whole track and have to wait for it to finish

Check out REAPER. It has a fairly intuitive interface, VST support, comes with many useful tools for both editing and analyzing audio, processing can be done real-time, best of all, it's free.

I've been doing some playing around with AviSynth and the GOUT, and thought I'd post this here in case anyone was interested in the results:

Left: DVD          Middle: filtered GOUT          Right: unaltered GOUT

The geometry of the image and the colour of the sky are down to my own little programs, written specifically for this scene.

Very impressive! Very nice colors. Love it.

Wow, sounds very nice!

But the pops and clicks from the original vinyl transfer are quite distracting, especially at the beginning. If you're planning on distributing this alongside CD tracks, maybe consider processing those parts slightly with ClickRepair??

Also, is there any particular reason the track seems to be sped up slightly and is shorter by 2 seconds?

Great work, keep it up!
