kk650's Star Wars Saga: Regraded and Semi-Specialized (Released)
Time

Its really frustrating that every single thread on the forum is full of people asking technical questions. It just dilutes the quality conversations about the projects themselves and makes it impossible to navigate the threads.

Harmy's Star Wars thread has over 500 pages!! And I dare say that a third of these posts are people asking how to burn it to a disc or how to play an MKV on their computer.

I understand that some people are not tech savvy, but can these questions be limited to a single tech discussion thread? And remove any posts that relate to "how to burn" or "how to play"? That would be a great rule.

Any takers?

Harmy's THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Despecialized Edition HD - V2.0 - MKV & AVCHD (Released)
Time

Watched Harmy's version of ESB again last night and I have to say that it is by far the best color treatment available of this film.

The blues on Hoth and the foul greens on Dagobah are gone and it just looks natural. Other versions have improved on the Bluray coloring but none have pushed it this far and made it look this good.

I'm curious to know what color reference he used as from what I've read there is no Technicolor print available of ESB?

Well done mate!

Star Wars ANH Bluray Semi-Despecialized & CC (JASWFP) V1 DONE (Released)

Your color correction is the best I've seen!

Agree with you about Mos Eisley - I don't really have a problem with the SE additions there though many people do. The new cuts are a bit jarring and you can obviously see where Harmy footage has been spliced in.

The HDTV footage works well though and is seamless in the CGI rocks removal - definitely leave that in your bluray release.

Why did you need to use GOUT footage with Greedo?

Interesting project, I really like the colors and denoising in the third screenshot. Can't wait to see more! Could you maybe show one of the scene with the sandcrawler rolling over the dunes?

Sure, but this is a example of a scene that is pretty hard to CC, there is no white or gray areas to use to white balance it, nor does it have any skin tones to grade after. However, based on the sky and clouds this should be somewhat accurate (and afaik the crawler supposed to have a rusty reddish tone). Harmys version of this is brown and teal.

I am really excited to see the finished version of this.

Are you color correcting the whole bluray before you make your edits?

I only ask as this would be an invaluable resource to the OT community, particularly if you released a high bitrate version.

Your screenshots look great!!

No, I'm not correcting the whole bluray, but if people would like an unaltered bluray version it's not that much more work (1-2h). But I guess that rendering and encoding this project will take a few more hours than that :P The problem is more my upload speed i guess since i'm only have 10Mbps fiber upload connection. Getting two versions out there will take more time then one.

 Cool! Thanks.

What source will you be using to remove the CGI rocks from in front of R2?

Harmy I loved the work that you did on Star Wars Respecialized. Is there a chance you would release a colour corrected version of ESB bluray before releasing the Despecialized Edition of ESB?

I only ask because no doubt that will be your main source that you would use for this project and would take little work to color correct the SE scenes.

I noticed when I was playing around with the various ESB version that are out there, that there is a noticeable difference with the number of frames in many scenes when you compare the Bluray with Adywan's 97SE which is what the Despecialized 1.0 of ESB is largely based on.

It's like the Bluray has been recut with a frame or two difference in many scenes.

It made it difficult to sync the two versions up on a timeline...

I'm assuming Harmy is using the Bluray as the main source for this next version?

Help: looking for... 1997 Audio Mixes of the SE Trilogy
Time

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if there is a place to download the 1997 SE 5.1 mixes of the three films?

I notice that there are some preservations/fan edits that have use these, but instead of downloading them all and demuxing them, is there a place that I can just download the ac3 files or wavs of these mixes?

Many thanks in advance!

Neverar's A New Hope Technicolor Recreation <strong>(Final Version Released!)</strong>
Time

Awesome!

Would you ever consider doing the same for the ESB and ROTJ blurays?

Many on the forum have spoken of how color correcting these are difficult due to there not being a technicolor print available, but any source other than the 2004 versions would be a massive improvement.

EPIV gets the most attention on the forums but ESB is by far my favorite and would love to see a 1080p high bitrate color corrected version.

Just a gentle nudge. :)

Using Avisynth with Adobe Premiere CS6
Time

Hi all,

I recently ripped the ANH bluray to mkv and then demuxed it to mp4 (video only) conserving the video quality of the bluray at 1080p.

I run into trouble when I import this into Adobe Premiere CS6 and have been trying for hours to get it working with AviSynth.

I have installed AVISynth and a few AVISynth Premiere plugins (but I reckon I've either got the wrong plugins or installed them incorrectly).

When I try to import AVS scripts I keep getting the error in Premiere that the file is not a supported format.

I know I'm doing something wrong. Can anyone provide me with a quick guide for how to get this working?

I'm using Adobe Premiere CS6 with Windows 7 64 bit.

Cheers!
