The Merits of the Prequel Trilogy and the "Saga"
Time
I saw them multiple times, and bought all of the DVD's.... as did EVERY single person I know who saw them (well, every single person saw them in the theater at least, not everyone bought all of the DVD's though.)

No one I know enjoyed the movies, the acting and dialogue were so bad at times that people in the theater were actually laughing (Vader's Frankenstein dance, "Anaking you're breaking my heart," "Nooooooooo," Jar Jar, etc.) no one I know even talks about them any more (they were such throw-away quality that they have since been forgotten.) Why bother seeing them then, even multiple times? Because they were Star Wars.... there was almost an obligation to see them - they were part of the most famous film franchise of all time - whether you want to acknowledge that fact or not makes no difference.

The quality of the Original Trilogy had such an enormous cultural impact that it's still referenced frequently (I am your father, Yoda talk, etc.) and talked about to this day. The Prequels have had no such effect, they've faded fast. Why? They simply were just not that good.

Now that, I must disagree with. I don't hate the prequels, but I do think that the mere fact that something has the Star Wars name on it means that many people will be interested regardless.

Absolutely.

The fact that they were the prequels to arguably the most famous film franchise of all time, and the fact that they recieved almost unlmited media attention and hype (it was almost made out to be an "event," not just merely a movie) practically guaranteed huge audiences. Yes, because it is Star Wars.

Comparing the LOTR trilogy to the Star Wars Prequels is comedy.

Keep in mind that the Prequels aren't even good movies.

Revenge of the Sith sucks a crazy dick. Why anyone would want to be secluded on a desert island with only three movies and have Revenge of the Sith among them.... well, it just boggles the mind. Terrible movie. "Anakin you're breaking my heart!" Hahahaha. Have a good one.

From watching to Original Trilogy I was always under the impression that Yoda wasn't physically powerful, but intensely mentally powerful.

That was how the original Yoda was... his power was never in jumping and flipping around like a martial artist, it was in being able to flawlessly lift and control something as large as a ship with nothing but a thought. He was supposed to be a tiny, physically weak little creature with an enormous connection with the Force - not a Kung Fu expert.

He wouldn't be Yoda. They purposely tried to match every move, every nuance that Oz did with that puppet, while "loosening" him up just a tad around the lips.

Jumping around and doing complicated flips like a Kung Fu master is so Original Trilogy Yoda.

I don't know who Mike is, and I don't give a fuck.

I don't know what LFL, TFM, DSSDKSKMDSMS or any other similar Star-Wars related acronyms are, and I don't give a fuck.

I do believe that Zion PM'ed that to you, seeing as he basically said the EXACT same thing to you in a public post before he locked your last thread. He was trying to keep you from continuing to disrupt the forum further in the most diplomatic way possible. His private message to you is 100% irrelevant.

The issue at hand is whether or not you have some sort of useless "Inside info." You have done absolutely nothing to demonstrate that you do short of saying "I have inside info." For the record, I don't believe you - nor do I particularly care either way. No one does, this is what you do not understand. The reason people keep replying to you is because you keep replying with the same useless banter "I have inside info, I have inside info, I have inside info." News Flash, people here believe you about as much as they give a flying fuck (which is to say, not at all.)

Glad I could help you out.

If you're not a child, I pity you.

If you are a child, I understand.

Guys, I think it was pretty big of Tiptup to start this thread up for the purpose of giving me a place where I could really talk about the things I enjoyed about the prequels and SE versions of the classic trilogy.

It would be really disappointing if it just ended in a pointless flame war.

Hey man, remember when I said "Rod Race?" Hahahahaha, it still gets my goat.

Rod Race man, hahaha. It was a crazy time wasn't it? it was.

Zion obviously sent him that PM. He is a moderator, he is trying to be diplomatic. He basically said the same exact thing in a post in Raul's last thread before he locked it. It really has nothing to do with anything.

Raul: I have insider info!

Someone Else: Prove it.

Raul: No.

Someone Else: Ok then, you're probably a liar.

Raul: I don't care what you think!

Someone Else: Why would you post it in the first place then?

Raul: I have insider info!

*rinse, lather, repeat*

Welcome to the internet.

How about everyone stops replying to him?

I have the same insider source Raul, wicked inside sources.

Sometime in 2007 Star Wars will be re-released and sometime within the next three years (you can count on it!) it will be released on BluRay and/or HDDVD. This is seriously inside info and not baseless prediction based on Lucas' constant re-releasery of Star Wars films. We might even have the same sources, who knows!

George Lucas called up my answering machine PERSONALLY and told me to stop telling people this (he basically confirmed it by doing this.) You probably don't believe me, but I don't care! I don't care what you think about me! Why would I tell you then? I don't know... but it's certainly not to make myself look e-cool or "In the know." If you guys are nice, I might post the audio of the message (too late you're all dicks!)

I wish I could tell more but I'm sure Zion would lock this thread or Lucas would put a jihad on me. Just take my word for it, I hope my source comes through with screenshots!
