Help: looking for... a copy of "Star Wars Reimagined" by NewSpock

I tried and the link is dead

It’s offline. Reason is that I used a certain idea for the narrative in a scene for the finale >that allowed me to completely remove the ewoks, but unfortunately with the given footage it was >not possible to make it 100% clear, so it couldn’t be approved.

And until lightning strikes and I get the inspirational idea to solve it (maybe in a few months or >years), I’ll have to let it rest.

I kept version 2.0 online for a few weeks, for those that wanted to watch it despite this problem, >but noone asked for it, and then I needed space (being a free user of mega) to get Buffy >Reimagined 3 online and I removed it. I’m sorry.

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **
Time

Saw this for the first time in IMAX 3D, damn this was a lot to take in. The advertisements just wouldn’t stop, so many cringey cineplex tech/toy advertisements and 3D movie trailers that I’ve already watched twenty times. Everything that was in 3D before the movie started really popped out and screamed “FUCK YOU I’M IN 3D” to the audience. Anyway the Lucasfilm logo finally showed up and the audience cheered and then quieted down quickly… The Star Wars logo appeared on screen and the excitement took me over, for the first time I paid extremely close attention to every single word on the title crawl. The movie was too hard to process, I’m going to have to go see it in a regular theatre just to wrap my head around the entire thing.

The movie was so much different than I expected it to be, the first act is pretty much exactly what I thought the entire would look and feel like but boy I was wrong. This is NOT a bad thing by the way, it’s just that I hadn’t anticipated the unique look and feel of the second half of the movie. The first order environment was very similar to that of the empire from the comic book “The Star Wars”. The CGI was very interesting and I found myself very pleased with the new effects.

Most of the information about the movie has been talked about several times on this thread so I’m just going to say this:
-Kylo Ren was a great character with a great lightsaber
-The use of the force in this movie was awesome (especially the way Kylo Ren uses it)
-Supreme leader Snoke looked a bit too fake, hopefully he’ll look better in person
-lightsabers calling to people is an interesting concept, but it is kinda odd
-Han Solo dying was really sad, but I think it was the right decision to make for the franchise
-I didn’t mind that it just mirrors ANH and ESB but the new death star was too much
-I really anticipated seeing Luke, screw you JJ

Overall TFA was pretty damn awesome, recommended for sure!

His voice actor in Clone Wars (2003) cartoon did an awesome job, he actually sounds intimidating. But in Episode 3, his voice actor did a terrible job and sounds like a cartoon villain. (with a weird accent and a voice very difficult to understand without subtitles)

Lastly, I think Grievous should have red lightsabers… Who is with me?

Agreed on both

I don’t want to add to your list of things to do, and I would be willing to do it myself if someone could point me in the right direction of how to do it, but could we possible change the Death Star hologram in Episode 2 with a hologram blue-print of Grievous? Not sure how interested people would be in this, so if their isn’t any we can move on to something more important.

Awesome idea! I’d be interested.

But Shaak Ti is shown dying in both of these scenes…

Oh… I forgot lol, although in the hologram you could change it pretty easily since the quality would be distorted and it’s all blue.

Here’s the thing about holograms, they are all transparent!
So in order to make them transparent, i have to create a static version from the background for each camera angle, and i also have to make this fit with the already existing camera movement, also, holograms don’t emit shadows. So basically i have to clean the whole shot in order to make a proper hologram!

This is hard and tedious, but i’ll do it 😃

Edit wise, i think instead of making Obi and Ani go down to the “sewers”, i think they should just hurry up, use force speed, or anything like that, because the effects in the following shots are just too rough to be used!

Ok I don’t think you completely understood my suggestion, the entire scene wouldn’t be made into a hologram, just a few shots of general grievous and shaak-ti/random jedi’s death

Ok, i just need the clips.

The reason i need the clips is because i dont have the movies on my computer, besides, using limited clips makes my work a lot easier 😃
To share, please use something like 1fichier or Mega. Something free and easy.

Ok, I’ll send you cut up and color corrected versions of my scenes, don’t worry about me until that’s done

Cool stuff that I’d like to see done:
-Grievous with Maul’s eyes
-The emperor in ROTS being thinner in the face (less puffy) and less purple. Sort of like Aalenfae’s version: https://vimeo.com/31342993
-Finish the deleted scene where Anakin kills a Jedi, rather than a bunch of kids
-Using the deleted scene in ROTS where Grievous kills Shaak-Ti, make a hologram of that rather than an encounter, this would be Maul/Grievous’ re-introduction, he sends the Jedi a hologram/recording of him killing a Jedi knight.
-This one would be quite tedious, but in the scene where Windu and other Jedi confront Palpatine, it would be cool to see the other Jedi float into the air and get force choked by Palpatine rather than have them stupidly and awkwardly killed in a lightsaber battle, this would make Palpatine seem way more powerful and make the scene much more intense.
-Show the “Republic cruiser” from the opening of TPM firing lasers inside the droid control ship and escaping, just like Anakin did except this time it would be Obi-Wan inside the cruiser rather than Anakin inside a Naboo starfighter

Some of this would be quite complicated and tedious, but I think these could be much better movies with these changes.

YouTube/Vimeo/etc... Star Wars video finds
Time

I saw one of these quite a while back, and wanted to share with you guys the slightly different versions of this hilarious video:

The first one here was uploaded in 2006: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CLwxObfaNE there was a re-upload 2 years later as well but they’re the exact same thing

This one was upped in 2010 and has way better quality, better lightsaber effects and keeps the original voice of the black knight but makes it deeper. This one is my favorite out of the three due to “it’s merely a flesh wound” staying intact: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BDO3pyavOY

This one was uploaded only half a year ago and is the original but in HD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg-HLZ5CUzA

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1

Harmy,

Love your 2.5 ANH and 2.0 ESB. Any chance of the 2.0 of Jedi getting completed before Ep VII comes out?

Also, has anyone taken your 2.0 version of Empire and subbed out the monkey face for Ian McDiarmid's (edited) SE clips like Darth Editous did to his version of Empire?

You could look at Adywan's upcoming ESB: Revisited which makes a brand new Ian Mcdiarmid face, fingers crossed that it'll be out soon. There are also several Harmy-Based projects like kk650's Semi-Specialized Editions amongst other similar projects.

The Phantom Menace EXPLAINED! Plot and protagonist!
Time

Padme as the protagonist is actually an interesting concept, though this isn't particularly true since she gets less screen time than Qui-Gon and just as much as Anakin. The movie could be edited to focus on her, but that would cut out the more fun and interesting parts of the story, resulting in something even worse.

All of the palpatine stuff makes sense I guess, but it should've actually been explained clearly in the movie rather than someone putting it together fifteen years later.

The ring theory is absolute bullshit, it's not a theory, it's fact. A four year old kid could figure out that the PT tries to mirror the OT! This adds nothing to the PT, and simply makes it seem sloppily written. Not poetry, not symbolism, just repetition, and useless repetition at that.

TPM wasn't just explained to me, it was simply defended by someone who won't accept that it sucks ass. I appreciate that you are trying to understand this movie, and can enjoy it after putting this together, but it does not redeem the movie. The movie sucks big time, especially by Star Wars' standards.

Implied starting date of the Empire from OT dialogue

Yeah, as I said, originally Luke and Leia definitely were not twins. The question of them not being related, however, may be another story entirely...

So that begs the question: does it ever say that Luke and Leia are twins in the OT? I remember it saying that they're siblings, but I don't recall it ever stating that they were twins or even born near the same time.

If in the OT they're only considered siblings, your re-write could have them be born completely separate, with Leia being with her mother and Luke being wherever you please
