I wish the Ewoks weren’t used for scenes of cute humour. I would have given them an even darker edge than what is seen in RETURN OF THE JEDI (the heroes about to be roasted on a spit).

Mr Lucas missed a golden opportunity with the SE of JEDI. I would have included shots of Ewoks feasting on cooked Imperial flesh - huge close-ups - DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) style.

Perhaps even a shot of a baby Ewok tasting it’s first Biker Scout?

I don’t think Yoda was added until much much later.

Didn’t KENNER hold back the Yoda action figure too? Not wanting to ruin the surprise.

The deleted Concorde scene from SUPERMAN : THE MOVIE turned up in a TV edit of SUPERMAN II.

The KCOP/Salkind International cut was taken down from caped wonder, for obvious reasons, but interesting that it finally appeared after all this time. Always wonder if the cut at caped wonder may have hinted at an official cut coming…perhaps even to gauge fan interest. Either way, excited. Hoping for all movies to receive the same treatment.

The impression I got from the description was that the whole 3+ hour cut will be in widescreen.

I didn’t buy the 35th anniversary edition precisely for this reason. How hard is it to include the original mono track? JAWS managed it for both DVD (re-release) and Blu-ray.

It’s been so long since I’ve heard the mono track I’ve forgotten what it sounded like.

Plenty of neat little scenes and extensions that I wish made the final cut. Ursa’s line - “Men to kill!” - is a favourite. Also some bizarre comedy relief from a Japanese family and a tourist with a camera, I seem to remember.

I saw the expanded version of SII in 1984 - over two nights (?) in Australia, and always missed the scene with the boy and the police siren - nasty!

I know that there are some alternate takes of at least one scene in that version that have no HD source but there’s no reason the BD could not be used as it wouldn’t alter the scene at all.

Disney will wait until 2020 when the rights to Empire, Jedi, and the prequels revert fully to Lucasfilm.

To those who say “yeah, but even when 2020 rolls around there’s still no guarantee it will be anything other than the SE in 4k,” I say bullshit.

There’s got to be something to that story John Landis told a couple years ago, right?

I’d say 50% DISNEY and 50% Lucas.

Landis won’t even release WEREWOLF with it’s original mono audio.

I also have the 2006 2-disc PAL UK release of SALEM’S LOT (1979). Dr Norton’s impalement death, is the same as the 3hr NTSC US DVD/Blu-ray versions and the old edited SALEM’S LOT: THE MOVIE videotape.

The new 3 hour NTSC US Blu-ray version has a slight edit to a different scene. The exterior shot of Straker’s fine antiques shop (during opening day) doesn’t start as early as the DVD version - watch the person riding a bike past the shop.

I wouldn’t mind seeing some more of the Rancor - the best thing about JEDI, imo.

4K. That’s the selling point for all other movies that are released on 4K.

Not enough of a selling point for me - unless the OUT was included.

When I first saw STAR WARS in 1982 I thought it was the best film ever made, then I saw JAWS and ALIEN the following year and changed my mind.

Interesting. The 2011 release’s only draw (for me) was the previously unreleased OT deleted material.
