How much time does each movie cover?
Time

Sorry don’t know how to put the image directly in my post:
http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080309023308/starwars/images/3/31/AnoatSectorMap.jpg

According to this map excerpt, both Hoth and Bespin (and the planet ISIS apparently) reside in the Anoat Sector. I always remember seeing Hoth and Bespin on SW maps being remarkably close to each other…

Info: Star Wars: Episode III - VHS Australian release
Time

Very nice! I was under the impression ROTS on VHS was never released is Aus!

A note on the stickers, I recently bought a couple movies from a local video store which has their logo/stickers plastered on the cover. Using canola oil (from a spray can) I was able to get the stickers to come off. You have to be pretty careful and take your time, spraying the oil onto some other surface, dipping your finger into it and applying your finger to the sticker and carefully prying it off but I was able to do it!

MUST each Star Wars Ep. have to have...?

No, actually this “tradition” was broken almost immediately, with Empire closing on the camera pulling back from the Rebel fleet. And while we’re at it, that movie is also the only one to have any significant dialogue in its final scene (Phantom Menace had the Gungan king shout “Peace!” but that’s it). So really, TFA’s ending is still a lot more “standard Star Wars” than Empire’s ending was.

Wow, I just re-watched the ending to ESB and I’m almost ashamed to admit I thought It ended with our heroes looking out the window! 😕 I can see how TFA is a lot more normal that I originally thought!
I still hopeing 8 and 9 have some horizontal movement though, that’s the one element that really sets the TFA ending apart…

And ROTS, if that matters to you.

Ok, I clearly didn’t think this through!

I personally think that Rogue One and the rest of the anthologies will distinguish themselves from the episodic films by not having a crawl. By not having a starfield background they can basically open anywhere they like.

I’m undecided how close I really want the anthologies’s opening to be to the rest of the episodes…I think something similar to how The Clone Wars series opened would be nice. Do I want a new/re-worked Main Theme? Probably not. But starting in space with a custom ‘Rouge One: A Star Wars Story’ logo fading into the background I think would be nice.

Not funny anymore, sound people.

Speak for yourself

I still enjoy hearing it - well mixed into the background of a scene that is. It can be pretty jarring occasionally…

Somethings I think are essential/have been in all Star Wars films…(I hope)
A Lightsaber v Lightsaber battle.
One ‘major’ battle
Someone speaking in an alien language w/ English subs
*A locked down closing shot (Tradition broken by 7. 8 and 9 better have rotating closing shots too otherwise I’ll be pretty cut)

Personally if 8 or 9 started somewhere else than space I’d feel a little annoyed. Starting in the stars seems ever so appropriate…

Discussion: The worst Star Wars thing ever made?

Worst Star Wars thing? Um…I’d say The Holiday Special, but even that benefits from the original actors returning, and watching it feels like an accomplishment, a testimony to being a Star Wars fan.

As someone who makes a point of never checking my phone during movies and tries to always remain focused on the film I’m watching I thought to myself “How hard could it be?”. 1hr and 45mins in I couldn’t help but spend 10mins on my phone recuperating the life that had just been sucked out of me. Truly a grueling experience.

Short of completely replacing the background with a model or something, I doubt there’s really any way to make majority of AOTC look like anything less than actors standing in front of a greenscreen with a cgi backdrop.

I agree. The new color grade helps quite a bit but there’s no getting rid of that look!

So Towne, when ARE we getting the 16:9 Pan and Scan version 😉 😛

and while you are at it, how about a 9:16 for those of us who watch on our mobile phones and suffer from vertical video syndrome? Seems logical that most people would prefer this.

Sign me up! Watching movies on phones and other small migraine inducing screens is obviously the way of the future, don’t let old-fashioned practices like 2.35:1 hold us back from a proper cinematic experience!

When you think on it only 4,5,6,1 and 7 have complete soundtracks. I think 2’s soundtrack only has the new tracks composed for the movie it’s short but a good half is from Phantom Menace. Williams was buried with a 3 other films in 2002. The only soundtrack to officially not have a full soundtrack official release is Revenge of The Sith. I known there is a bootleg of a full ROTS soundtrack. So if it were to have that isolated score option it would have to be through those means. A Isolated Score would be awesome. I wish a official full soundtrack of ROTS comes soon. If given the option it be cool to watch ROTS with just the music, being that it would have all of the music instaed of the roughly 60 to 70% we got on the official soundtrack. If there’s anything Star Wars fan appreciate of the Prequels is John Williams music.

Speaking of ‘bootlegged’ ROTS and AOTC soundtracks: (if these links are against forum rules I’ll remove them right away)

These are what I’ve been listening to for a while, they’re really good!
I don’t see it being insanely difficult to to sync these to the film? They’re quite comprehensive and contain very minimal, subduded and unobtrusive background noises…

What an absolute mess. I really hope someone can get a hold of all ‘statements’/posts/emails and properly sorts fact from fiction. No one wants projects that will hurt other projects, yet jumping to conclusion after conclusion as more information slowly trickles out isn’t healthy either. The longer this goes on, the longer reputations will suffer.
