well maybe but i have been here a long time and i can honestly say that without the limit i have never gone over 10 posts in any hour unless i started to chat with someone. and like i said above you can use the OT IRC for that, again 10 posts might be a little harsh as well but something along those lines is what i am suggesting, it doesnt have to be 10 posts/ hour just something to deter people from being able to bager on about nothing, ill admit i do it all the time too, but it doesnt mean its right.

well yes i agree 10 a day is bad, but if you look at most poeple that are posting now, very few are over that quota of ten a day, only the people that post ALOT i.e. adam, and co are over that. i donno though maybe 10 an hour would be good, its nto nessarly breaking freedom jay all its doing is forcing people to post more wisely, you'll quickly get rid of one liners and posts like that. and like i said its only the mr post alots that post that much. its your forum so its your choice, i dont see it as a fasist or comunist veiw point, and it would be a pioneeting idea. its not liek forums are chat lines where people need to post more then 10 posts a hour or something. and it doesnt even have to be 10 posts, you can set the limit to waht you see fit.

yeah i dont knwo if quite agree with that article. it all depends on how dressed up ther person is. yes skin tight stuff is bad, but some of the guildlines in that article are a little stern, like one inch from skin to cloth, that seems to me to be a bit baggy. as for the lose of respect, sometimes people just want to look good, and i see no problem in that, i know lots of really smart people that dress up. but everything in moderation, you can only dress down so much, and hten you start getting into a position where your looked at as shabby. but honestly for a person to judge intellegence jsut on that is very narrow-minded you need to hear how they speak first. thats my personal criteria for first impression intellegence, is how you speak.

hey jay just thought of an awesome way you could reduce the amount of stupid and spaming posts on the forum. what you can do is to build in a limit for the number of times a person can post in an hour or a day or something like that. forums are not really chat lines and since you have the IRC set up you can boast the number of people there and reduce the number of stupid pointless posts in the forum. but it couldnt be too big, you could probably do something like 5 - 10 posts/ hr or like 15 posts a day or something like that or something along those lines. and you could disable it for certain members i.e. mods. just a thought, i dont knwo how hard it would be to implement at this point or how much work but it would cut the amount of rediculas traffic in half. and you would get people spending more time and more effort on each one of there posts creating a higher quality and smarter forum.
