i disargee one of those questions was answered and the other partially answered.

we did find out who alexander was?
the problem with this movie was that is focused too much on who alexander was. the movie did it so much and so well to the point were we no longer cared for alexander cus he wasnt so mysterious, and cool. and so the movie lost our interest and thus all of the reports that it was horrible.

how did he conquer all the world. he did this with his mind. alexander was able to take over the world one because he was smart in battle, we saw this in the first battle. we also saw it in the second battle where he used his mens love for him to give them spirit. the other method that he used which is critical was how he incoperated the conquered lands into his world, he made them feel important. if you look at history every large empire used this method inorder to grow. and once they stopped using it they fell. alexanders empire feel because he died and his genrals didnt feel the same way about the lands as he did. rome fell when they stop respecting there ppl and the ppl outside of there empire. the only historical expection of this was the colonial empires. however this was becausea a small army could kill a big army if it was better equiped. and so rebellions could be quelled quickly and efficiently. in the end it did matter thou because the colonies still got there independance.

so in a way if you look closely at it both of your questions were answered.

hey hotrod ill tell you a true story.

2 years ago my sister had a kid, her husband and her were expecting a boy and so were going to name them jay they got a girl so the first thing they thought of was jaya. after they had named her and they had told me the story i said suggested jaina. my sister who is not a SW fan really liked that name but say that since they had already named her they werent going to change it. the point to remember is that she would have named jaya jaina if i had suggested it b4 hand. its not wrong to name your kid after a SW character if the name is nice. i would never name my kid obiwan or chubacca. but jacen or jania are cool names. i have often thought then when i have children to ask my wife if she wants to name our daughter jaina.

i swa a preview sreening of alexander yesterday as well. it was free i should add too, which was good cus i wouldn't spend $10 on this movie. overall it was a bad movie. th fact is that as nile was saying this movie had a good solid movie within it. Oliver stone did a good job on the first 90s. however he butcher the second half. as nile was he overplayed his bi hand. yes the truth is that there was alot of bisexuality in those times it is quite will known, the romans were the same way. in this movie Stone really tried to punch that in, and he achieved this but at the cost of distroying his movie. What he did in the second half was reiterate the idea that alexander was bi by showing lots of bi seens. these scenes in many ways reminded me if the love story in AOTCs they were poorly acted and poorly played. it was these to attributes that distroyed the flow of the second half of the movie. these scenes also deglorified alexander in the eyes of audience and made the movie drang. no i am not suggesting that stone remove all of them, because that would one wreak the movie more and 2 just be historically inaccurate. what he should do it look at the movie again and find ther scenes that wreaked the flow. FOR EXAMPLE Stone seems to love this weird skiny shemale guy, and all throughout the movie he would extend shots at there end to zoom in on this guy or in some way make it appearent that this guy was there. it was extensions like these that Stone should have look at removing.
