well doesnt have to be surprise, and i see what your point but it could be done is mine. and it wouldnt be redundant. it would actually make sense for people that are watching the movies for the first time in order, cause when it comes to the line in ESB "I am your father" people wont be like WTF how did he know.

and its not redundant cause Vader doesnt know that it was Luke who blew up the DS in fact he doesnt even know that luke is alive, remember the story its not being told in movies its been shown. you cant always make assumptions.
