The Last Jedi and Solo are already available on UHD. I see the previous Marvel movies are being released on UHD. The Force Awakens and Rogue One can’t be far behind. I’d expect the Original Trilogy special editions to arrive on UHD eventually. I see nothing to cause expectations for the unaltered versions.
I’m fine with the versions of Rogue One and Solo we have. No need to muddy the waters with special editions of those movies as well.
I’d love to get The Force Awakens and Rogue One on UHD, but I will not by the special editions of The Original Trilogy again, ever. I think the prequels (AotC and RotS) would have to be upscaled from 1080p for release on UHD so also not interested.
The only reason I’d sit through the special editions again would be if they released them in 3D theatrically. I’d watch them just to see the trench run, walkers on Hoth, and speeder bikes all in 3D.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s odd that anyone here would advocate for essentially a “special edition” of any Star Wars movie?

In my opinion , the documentary , From Star Wars To Jedi The Making Of A Saga is the Gold Standard of all official Star Wars documentaries to date.
What about Empire of Dreams?
I love Star Wars more, but Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner is my favorite making-of doc.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will feature hundreds of playable characters — the most ever for a LEGO Star Wars game
For the first time in the series’ history, players can start the game at any point in the Star Wars timeline; fans can jump in with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, begin the original trilogy with Star Wars: A New Hope, or launch right into Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
“With the Skywalker saga coming to an end, we wanted to give fans the ultimate Star Wars video game experience with all the humor and charm that is uniquely LEGO,” said Douglas Reilly, vice president, Lucasfilm Games. “LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will bring to life all those Star Wars adventures remembered and undiscovered in an epic culmination of all nine saga films as fans celebrate the closing of this chapter in Star Wars.”

I’d love for the real Original Trilogy to be readily available to future audiences. I consider it part of our cultural heritage and an important part of cinematic history, but I feel for my own sanity I will have to find contentment in my Harmy discs for now. I’m very thankful they exist. Maybe one day, we will have something more official for everyone, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Was Edited on Set
https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2019/06/the-rise-of-skywalker-edited-set.html
”When we did The Force Awakens, we started in May and we finished shooting in October, and we were out [the following] Christmas. For this film, we didn’t start until August, so we weren’t done until February shooting – so we have four months less time, and it’s a very big film. So I convinced J.J. to let me cut [The Rise of Skywalker] on the set. He was like, ‘No, we never do that.’… I had the [director of photography] right there to ask questions. If I needed a shot, or if J.J. decided we needed another shot, we would set up in a corner and get a green screen shot of something. Getting to know the cast and having them be comfortable with me, it was a really great way to understand what they were going through.”

I love all the pics by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair’s Star Wars issue. I really think they’re going to knock this one out of the park. The hype will be intense.

I hope they expand on it with Rogue One and Solo content. I could go for a little Clone Wars, Rebels and Resistance content as well. Heck, toss in The Mandalorian too. I only want it all.

The Clone Wars is also EU because it isn’t in the movies. Everything that’s not in the movies is EU.
That used to be what they referred to as EU, but that term is not used anymore. It’s either canon or it isn’t. If it isn’t, it’s legend.

The level of underachieving here would be like Hasbro only making two action figures, Uncle Owen and BB-8.

I don’t see the term “Expanded Universe” used anymore. I just see “canon” and “legends”.
Most of what used to be referred to as the EU is now legend.
The Clone Wars is canon.

Fallen Order looks great.
I wish there were single player action games like this, but that followed the actual movies so we could play as favorite characters in familiar scenes. Right now the old Lego games are the only thing close to that.
I can’t believe we have this much Star Wars movie and TV content but so few Star Wars games.
