Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
Hey Guys,

thank you Solo for the Manga Covers, they are really nice. Does anyone know where to get the fancy collection by coov? Because he posted a pic of his box and that was just the best box I could possibly imagine. But I can't find the covers online (at least not all of them).

I think I want to work on a Special Edition Set of covers, because the Jedi-Feta discs deserve a nice set too... I know it's oot here, but for some reason I even like the SE a little bit. (1000000 times more than the 2004 dvds...) So what do you guys think of making SE covers?

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Unfortunately, disc space is tight right now so I had to delete OCP ESB from my hard drive. I still have the dvd copy. Can I just copy it back to my hard drive and replace/delete the files? Also, if I can put it back on my hard drive I will seed them for My Spleen once I clear my drives up a bit.

Also, I'm downloading Editdroid's ESB right now. Only getting like 16kbs, but it's better than the 2 or 3kbs I was getting for Cowclops.

It should work if you just copy the files back to your harddrive. Then delete (or just relocate) the file I told you, and then everything should be groovy! Hope that works, because that is sweet disc!

I had the very same problem, till I had a closer look on the files. If you remove the file VIDEO.TS (22kb) from the folder, everything is rocking! Then burn it again and hopefully it plays everywhere! I don't know why that works, but it does...:-)

Hope I could help!

How Star Wars names are translated in non-english countries...
Time
Nice thread,

since I'm German I'll give you our translations (which I really like):

Millenium Falcon-----> Rasender Falke (only in ANH) which means "Speeding Falcon"
Title Star Wars-----> Krieg der Sterne
Empire strikes back-----> Das Imperium schlägt zurück
Return of the Jedi-----> Die Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter
Death Star-----> Todesstern
Tatooine----> Tattuin
Star Destroyer---->Sternenzerstörer
the Force-----> Die Macht

So basically they just translated it literally, which is awesom. Darth Vader stays Darth Vader. That's why I hate the Prequels and the DVD 04 Edition. They switched it to Star Wars instead of Krieg der Sterne, they made Count Dooku to Count Dooku and did NOT switch it to Graf Dooku. Therefore the German kids get the impression, that count is a name rather than a title.

But like I said, the OT has a really good german version (I dream of a decent DVD of the german version...!)

Hey there, after reading like 60 pages of this thread, I have almost gone crazy... I'm looking for a cover set which was made for the Classic Collection I think. It had a wonderful metal look and looked like a superb tin box. Does anyone remember those covers? I can't find them and I start to doubt my memory... Haha... Maybe someone can prevent me going nuts...

Well, I have never seen or heard the scream before, but if it's true that's fine. I just don't see the reason why he changed it twice in the Special Edition and in the 2004 Edition. And I agree, it does sound pretty much like the Emperor's scream in ROTJ.

Just curious. If you've never seen or heard the scream before, then how do you know it sounds like the Emperor's scream?

Haha, I meant that I've not heard the scream before the Special Edition. Of course I've heard it in the SE. One of the earlier posts just said that it was there in some old empire trailer. Anyway, I just watched my SEs again. It's definitely the Emperor...

Anyway, but I just think that we probably have to expect a "Special Edition" of the Prequel Trilogy as well. Maybe when the 3-D Versions come out. Who knows. It's no wonder Star Wars is one of the most successful films. Look how many times he re-released it and everytime it brought him money.

SE-Trailer on the '97 VHS: "Now sit back to enjoy George Lucas' DEFINITIVE version of the Star Wars Trilogy"... Muhahahahaha

See, the problem is that the things you're saying could come true. I mean look what he has done so far to the trilogy. Why stop? The best example is the added scream of Luke in TESB Special Edition. Then again he took it out. What about the "original vision"???

Well coming back to topic: A CGI Yoda would not help the movie. Although I do think that he is way better than the puppet in Episode I. But I don't see what could be added to a possible Episode I Special Edition. It's becoming more and more ridiculous...
