Star Wars - The Edits and DVDr releases thread
Time
First, let me say that I'm sorry that I've not updated the list for a while but we had some "disturbances" here on the boards and I was avoiding the forum but with our new MOD and the influx of new members. Now that the influences of the "darkside" have abated - I'll be posting updates to this list as often as I can once again!

SO to end my rant - I will be doing a MAJOR update to this list over the next few weeks (I have some time OFF from work!!!) - I'm going to update the whole list and try to make it a bit easier to read.

Spidernap DVD Covers

I don't think he ever posted the entire series - a PICTURE of what they were to look like when done but nothing more then a teaser (I THINK) I have what may be the largest collection of Star Wars Custom Covers - right now the collection is at 1.9 gigs with over 600 covers (+ about 40-50 are disc art)

I will be posting the complete collection in about a month or so and AM still looking for other covers to ADD!!!!!

- SO not to hi-jack your thread but If ANYONE get or has these other Spidernap covers let us KNOW!!

By the way, I have TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6, and every time I add two videos to the same track the video becomes de-synched with the audio after the second track. For example, I got the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries and edited out the credits at the end of part one and beginning of part two, loaded part one onto a track in TMPGEnc DVDAuthor and then part two onto the next track. However, after the second half starts, the audio is out of sync, however if I skip back to the beginning of it the audio is back in sync, I just can't play it straight through. Not sure if this is the best thread for this, but anyone know what the deal is? Can I just not do this in that program?

This is a decent proggie that I use ALL the time - I found that if you demultiplex your video that you've created with the O.G. TMPGEnc then OPEN the video in 1.6 then with the add files option just add your newly created .MP2 file and you SHOULD be set then with no audio delays. BUT in the event that it's STILL wonky - PM me and I'll get you 1.5 which NEVER has this issue (UNLESS your're doing a DL disc)

AS you can tell I've had this very same issue with 1.6

Speaking of which, anyone wanna put a VHS onto DVD for me?

If not, can someone please elaborate on the "known error" in Empire?

Thanks!

#1 - The Row47 set has not been posted as a torrent and I personally have no plans on posting them at this time as I've posted the original TR47 set a few months back.

#2 - TR47 Errors info -

This set has now been watched by MANY veiwers that have gotten the set form MANY various sources - most sets have been found to have some VERY VERY VERY MINOR errors on it -

Well Known VERY MINOR errors -

ESB - 50m31s - the picture does go black for around 4 seconds before the welding scene appears.

+

In one of the shots in ROTJ immediatly after Lando orders all craft to "Pull up", picture becomes pixulated for a few seconds

Originally posted by: TR47 - I have watched my originals more than once and the only errors present are the 3 second gap and one very brief part in ROTJ in which a speeder bike explodes, the bitrate jumps over 10 MBPS (which may cause a stutter in some players)

- These MINOR ERRORS

Errors reported by - TR47, Christoffer, Hal 9000 and others now edited for content

The “ADigitalMan” Fan Edit of Return of the Jedi

Never a big detractor of the Star Wars Special Editions, fan editor
ADigitalMan was nonetheless discontented with a few of the conceptual changes.
The solution: change the parts he didn't like and start enjoying Return of the
Jedi once again.

Here is what sets the ADigitalMan edition apart from the official DVD.

* Using the PAL laserdisc as an alternate video source (reconverting the frame
rate to NTSC); Sebastian Shaw has been reinstated as the ghost of Anakin
Skywalker.

* Using an imported German language version of the 2004 DVD’s, the audio mix has
been modified to remove the last line in the trilogy being uttered by newly
added Gungans. Wesa Free from hearing "Wesa Free." (The stereo track in the
Dual-Layer version, the audio comes from the French track on the NTSC DVD.)

And in a change completely unique to this edition, the Special Edition song
"Jedi Rocks" has been replaced with the CD-version of "Lapti Nek", as sourced
from the 1993 Anthology Boxed Set. The Special Edition video in this sequence
has been re-edited to match the music. ADigitalMan states, “Not only did I grow
up with 'Lapti Nek' in the movie, but I grew up playing this for five years in
the stands at Friday night football games.’Lapti Nek' always had a special place
in my heart, so it had to be reinstated”.

I'm asking for your Promise to copy this Disc as many times as you can and then
give or trade copies to EVERY fan you know! This will help prevent the Darkside
Dealers (eBay/comic shop sellers) from selling copies for $50!

PLEASE - DO NOT sell this for profit.

If you bought this DVD for more than $5 you've been duped, suckered, bamboozled
and hoodwinked. This DVD was intended to be distributed within the Star Wars and
DVD trading community for FREE either by Trade, FTP, P2P or just the cost of a
blank DVD and shipping.

IF you paid more that $5 for this DVD or bought it on eBay - PLEASE send the
sellers information to the Blaksvn_Insider@Yahoo.com The Insider will be sure to
take care of any Darkside Dealers appropriately.

I do not want anyone to feel that I'm attempting to exploit these wonderful
renditions of Star Wars Universe. I just want to share these with other fans and
at the same time keep the Star Wars Fan Created Universe Alive and free of
hooligans!

SICK huh?

It will be a day or so more as I'm doing TOTALLY New Custom Covers for this set - SO please bear with me here...

I SHOULD have this up tomarrow - I made a modded cover based on the 2004 box set as a BASIC cover for this set and I've been working these last 24 hours or so (ON and off of course!!) for a COMPLETELY original set of covers and I'me REALLY diggin' the results. BUT these will NOT be in the torrent for this EDIT but they will be in the "COVERS" torrent! - MAYBE I'll have 1 cover done in a few days but MAN I have to say that I've NEVER spent this much time making a set of covers! (well MAGFAN's )

Here is a sample of the "Boxset" cover ...

http://home.comcast.net/~blaksvn/Adigitalman_-_2004_Edit_Silver_Set_-_MINI.jpg

I like how it came out printed - SO I do have a 4-disc keepcase WAITING for the rest of the films to be stuffed with!!!

A BIG Thanks to Rebel Rouser for the "Star Wars" logo (he made this 100% from scratch!! - talk about MAD PS skillz!)

TR47 - Thanks for letting us know - I've not seen any of the newer 5-Star as my Asian source as since change all of his info BUT if TR47 says they are POOP then they are POOP.

True be told the Asian bootlegs are all kinda bad (cept' for the DL SE which is OKAY - MebeJedi Should I send you my "ORIGINAL" SE LD's )

In my opinion AT this time I would rate the available sets as this...

BEST ORIGINAL TRILOGY SETS

BEST PRESENTATION = The Dr. Gonzo set (Best representation of the "Definitive Collection")

BEST VIDEO = TR47/ROW47 sets (ROW47 = Rowman reauthored the set fixed the known error in Empire and added menus!!!)

BEST SOUND = The TR47/ROW47 Sets (The best Audio/Video in any set.. YET - but that PCM decoded with DTS Neo6 is NICE)

BEST FEATURES = The "ISOMIX" set (BEST features and AWESOME menus!!

(This list will change once and IF the "XO" projects start to surface! - EVEN I'm planning to do a DL project with the resulting "XO"/MeBeJedi discs)
