STAR WARS: The Torrents thread

Hello. For the longest time I've wanted to see the original SW documentaries like the Making of Star Wars, SPFX, Classic Creatures, etc. I've been away from this site for a while but I was interested in seeing how that SW Legacy project was doing. That led me to checking out this thread, etc.

Anyway I guess I missed it, but someone posted a two part torrent at myspleen.com with these documentaries on DVD. I started downloading (along with the casting auditions torrent) but the documentary torrents aren't looking too healthy. These two torrents are about 4.3 GBs each and at this rate, it's going to take an eternity to download. Would it be possible for someone to help me out and maybe upload these as smaller AVI or VCD files?

Seems like a big favor but I just figured I'd give it a shot.

I will be doing the NON-Subtitled versions in the future as DVD so hold tight...

As for when I really don't know SO, SO many DVD's and so little bandwidth.

but the .NFO file you've got is from the older version (Dr_Gonzo's 1980 - without Leia welding).

Never got that new NFO, I did post asking for it but all I had was the old one - BUT yes it is the Fixed version

What font is this....
Time
I really need this font to finish some covers I'm working on (see below for a peek) ANY help would be appreciated!

I do know that it has come up in the past but I could not find it after looking around for over 30 minutes - If I'm not mistaken this is the same font that was used on the Definitive Collection Laserdisc boxset.

Sneek-Peek into my next cover set!

See, I need that font to finish them (and the font from the back of the Faces set would BE sweet also!)

Help!! Looking for Hi-Res OT posters

Seeing as how I don't have enough money to buy all of the posters, I'd like to have HQ versions of them all on my computer at least.

Oh, BTW, while we're on the topic of posters: has anyone seen the Code3 3D posters? I thought they looked pretty cool. And just a few days after seeing them I found out about Lucas' 3D/2007 re-release plan. Those posters would be great supersized in my cinema proclaiming the re-release in 2007.

Thanks in advance,
klokwerk

Those posters are NICE - very pricey but very nice...

Clone Wars toon - title crawl?
Time
Is there anyone here that can write and make a title crawl for the Clone Wars toons?

I feel that once the Two Volumes are joined as a 2hr 18min movie (I'm merging them for myself and MAYBE as a torrent...) that it could use it's very own crawl...

I've also heard rumblings of there MAYBE being a Fan Edit (just a resequence of the chapters I believe) of the Clone Wars in the works IF this is the case a title crawl will be a MUST

IF I'm not mistaken it's the McQuarrie art galleries and such... BUT the fist DVD had them as a HTML page that was wicked + scripts!!!

AND a Jacket_P folder that displays a picture on screen before the menu loads up on SOME Sony DVD players

Hopefully that will be on dvd when they do a Clone Wars special edition dvd.

I thought season 3 was great, it focused on plot more which was great and everything with grievous was cool, I hope it continues into Ep3.

I should have this done in just a few days - No menus I'll be using the DVD for Volume I and the Volume II from a TiVo2Go transfer

If you like and feel like encorporating it into the cover anywhere please feel free to do so! Either way, good stuff!

Very nice, Rik. I like the DS looming over the Earth. Did you make that yourself?

BTW, what software do you use to create these covers? Specifically, does the software indicate the size of the front, back, and spline, so you know if your imgaes and text stay within the border?

THANKS!

Yep, did it myself - Photoshop 7 - I made my own DVD template with all the line indicators embedded in the PSD then I also use PS to print them.

This is the cover I started last night for the MAGNOLIAFAN Edits...
(I had asked Magnoliafan last year if I could call his Edits the "From the Journal Of The Whills" so that's why that's there
- it's also on the cover I did back in March of 2004)

This is the cover I finshed just now... I also tried your white spine work as the silver I was gonna use looked kooky so anyway....

I'm sure they will evolve some more over the next few days..

This cover will be in the Covers Torrent I plan on posting but I'd LOVE to get some more covers first
- the collection is now sitting at 1.05 Gigs with near 400 covers!

When Star Wars Ruled the World - 2004

Few movies have reached the iconic status of the original Star Wars trilogy. A long-shot science fiction project that was rejected by multiple Hollywood studios, Star Wars (and its creator George Lucas) defied the skeptics and became one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of all time. Now VH1 is working with Lucasfilm to produce the ultimate oral history of the Star Wars years, When Star Wars Ruled the World. Timed to coincide with the DVD release of the original trilogy on September 21, 2004, this hour-long documentary will take viewers back to those rapturous moments when the whole world wanted to wield a light saber.

The show begins in the mid-1970s as George Lucas struggles to find a way to make his dream project a reality. Relive the incredible and unlikely impact of the first Star Wars movie, the sudden fame of unknowns like Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, and the way fans around the world fell in love, first with the movie and then with the action figures, pillow cases, C-3PO cereal and everything else they could - and did - line up to buy. Manufacturers could hardly keep up with the demand for anything and everything Star Wars (swamped by clamoring fans, the official Star Wars toymaker, Kenner, at one point had to settle for selling vouchers for yet-to-be-made action figures.)

The show will also chronicle the immense anticipation for the first Star Wars sequel, The Empire Strikes Back and the build-up to the climactic Return of the Jedi that had fans traveling hundreds of miles to visit the gates of the movie's set. Along the way, we will highlight the cultural impression made on millions of fans by Star Wars icons like Darth Vader, Ewoks, and Yoda, and lines like "I am your father," "That's no moon. It's a space station," and, "May the force be with you."

Originally Premiered on VH1 Thursday, September 18, 2004

- This disc was posted on the bittorrent network via myspleen.net for all you to enjoy! (the covers matche the menus in this set )

You can even download it HERE

Yeppers, I just fired up photoshop the other day after I posted up the poster for Episode III and got started on a set KINDA like yours - I did jack your DVD cover layout (because it kicks booty!) to show off my covers - I did start a thread for it as not to also jack yours

And on that note I forgot to add...

I had intended on posting the Splitscreen ESB last week but my XP machine went all wonky on me and would not let me see my TiVo in turn I could not use any of the TiVo Home Media Options. So, I have just rebuild my win2000 box and I also have done a fresh install of XP on my main box. (which took two days as I needed to get all the drivers again)

I should have the WookieGroomer ESB up later tonight of very early in the morning!
