Rikter, you should sell those TiVo series 1 sets on eBay. People that don't want to subscription service buy up the series 1.

I personally have a Toshiba RD-XS32. Combination DVD burner and 80GB hard drive.

I've used it to transfer my Packers/Browns video to DVD (the game I went to in Dec. 2001). Right now, I'm working on a Star Wars compilation. I've got Star Wars to Jedi, Star Wars to Star Wars and Nova: The Magic of Special Effects burned to disk. My second disk is going to include Exposure: Star Wars Edition and the soon to be played Lego Star Wars program that is going to appear on Cartoon Network next month.

once I've transferred stuff off my VHS tapes, I'm removing my VCR completely.

VCR - what's that?

I was thinking about getting a stand-alone DVD recorder but they did the tivo2go so now I really don't need one BUT have you been very pleased with the results that you get from that Toshi?

As for selling my TiVo's maybe the 20hr after I get a HD to upgrade it MAYBE a nic card then I'll sell it + I wonder how much I'd get if I hacked my 14hr with lifetime and dropped it on eBay?)

Idea & Info Wanted: 1997 Special Edition LD on DVD?

You can cut out the menus, trailers, and even lose the fake (and poor sounding) DTS tracks that take up a lot of space. Also, ROTJ has a 30 minute documentary on it in addition to the trailer which takes up space, too.

NOT all the 5-Stars are DVD9 dual-layered!!!

I just ordered another set to trade and they were DVD5!

YEP, they came about a month ago and they were single layer DVD5 disc BUT they were labled DVD9 on the disc art AND on the covers.

So BE VERY VERY careful about getting the SE Five Stars - I got a PM from a friend at DVD Malaysia and he said that they are no longer making the DVD9's as the are now "making" the 2004 DVD set now.

Like I said I have that Laserdisc I'll ask and see if someone will capture it for me (maybe mebejedi?? )

Any TiVo/PVR users here?
Time
Hi, my name is RiK and I've been using TiVo for almost 7 years now.....

Yep - I liked them so much that I even went and worked for them for two years back in 1999 when they first came out and cost $699 for a 14 hour unit (They gave them to us techs + some of us got lifetime service and beta status )

I now have..

- Dish Network DVR510 100hr
- Series 2 TiVo TCD24004A 40hr with 7.1b Software (Home Media Option and TiVo2Go)
- Series 1 - Philips HDR110 14hr (not being used)
- Series 1 - Philips HDR212 20hr (not being used)

SO, I'm wondering how many folks here have a TiVo or any PVR type device?

I have the Japanese Laserdisc of Episode 1 - but my transfer looked like poodoo - I think I'll send it off to another fan with BETTER capture tools as I only have an old AGP All-In-Wonder 128 ATI card but it's in a 500mhz box - I know, I know but my Compaq EVO 510 2ghz only has room for one PCI card and 1 mini-AGP (halfsize?) card.

And all of my Episode Two movies are bad telesyncs/cams of the film (I wish I could find the Centropy SVCD - mine was very scratched)
