Info: awful colour values / poxiness of the 2004 'official dvds'
Time
I just watched "A New Hope" 2004 version - YUCK! I even tuned my TV with the THX set up (tried AVIA no better) MAN, it was horrid - I even noticed (I think I noticed it) that the audio was real wonky - real low then extra loud in most of the two-shots and some of the suround effects sounded WAY forced (maybe the result of a botched 5.1 EX mix?)

I have a Oynkyo DDex/DTSes reciever with NHT New Waves (not the best - but darn good) and I have to say that the PCM track on the "Cowclops" transfer sounds better downmixed via Pro-Logic II the these so called THX mastered discs.

From the nfo:

Episode II - The Clone War
Video Format.........: MPEG4
Codec................: XviD
Audio Format.........: 5 channel AC3 @ 448 Kbps
Resolution...........: 720x352 / Framerate of 23.976
Source...............: UNAUTHORIZED MAGNOLIAFAN COLLECTION DVDr
Original Format......: NTSC
Genre................: Science Fiction
Size.................: 695mb
this XVID can easily be converted to VCD or DVD with the right softwarez.

Windows Explorer lists my avi file as being 729 229 312 bytes. When I drag it into Nero the SVCD lists the MPEG2 folder as being 1 199 228 928! This is obviously too big to burn on a regular CD.

Do I need a different program or am I doing something wrong?

Thanx

The version I posted will not play on a set-top box - you will need to convert it first to DVD MPEG2 with something like TMPGenc encoder (4-9 hours based on your encoding format) - Or you can drop me an email

I believe I have this one. I bought it from an ebayer some time before finding this wonderful forum.

The cover is white, with a drawing of the wookie family on the front and a big Angrysun logo on the background of the back side.

The menu also presents the same wookie drawing and there is a C3PO+R2 commercial and a strange hidden clip.

The quality is superb. The ebay seller hosted a DVD quality sample to download and check the quality before buying. I hope it was your brother, Rik, or I gave 14$ (I think it was around that price) to the wrong guy.

YEP - YOU GOT one!!

That was Alien (Alan ) - I hope you feel okay about what you got (I made him start including my information and links to the forums)

So mallwalker, what is your favourite set currenlty? (Love that avatar)

Don't ask me -- I'm hardware-challenged !
My TV is 20" with only composite input using a generic cable that came with the $35 non-progressive player,
so I've got no idea which set has the sharpest picture.
I prefer Dr.Gonzo's colors, although my set is uncalibrated.
I like TR47's sound, but my stereo lacks ProLogic or any other surround flavor.
But the most important thing is I'm watching Star Wars at home, finally !
My Faces VHS Pan/Scan box (hey, it was a gift) is collecting dust
still in shrink-wrap because I never owned a VCR.
But now I can watch Star Wars at home !!!
Gonzo's set was my first, and still the one most frequently watched.

And the avatar I pinched from sifo-dyas....

TRULY A GREAT FAN you are!

Info: Interest in DVD Trading Anyone?
Time
For all the fans out there here is my trade list -

Just email me for any trades!

Here are the details....

I can provide you with FREE DOWNLOAD LINKS for most of my titles via BitTorrent.

All titles that I share are either known to be Fan created Preservation efforts, Fan created edits, OUT-OF-PRINT titles or titles that are not YET available on any "Official" currently produced DVD, Laserdisc or VHS release. I will not offer any titles that are copies of available "Official" DVD's via torrent or trade - these titles can and will be removed once any "Official" and "UNALTERED" DVD or other RETAIL version is made available to the general public.

PLEASE purchase or acquire via trade any OFFICIAL copies of these titles when possible (i.e. Laserdisc, VHS, CED or DVD) please don't support piracy!

These discs listed here are not intended for profit but strictly for the PRESERVATION of these very rare and unique titles - this is for the fans. MANY fans have suffered in the creation of these discs (me included) and it is very disturbing to see profiteers selling these DVD’s - I have posted most of these titles on the internet for free downloads via Newsgroups, P2P services like Kazaa and the BitTorrents and I will continue to do so for other fans as long as possible.

Please promise to copy these discs as many times as you can and give/trade copies to EVERY fan you know If you have downloaded a torrent file PLEASE keep the seed going for as long as possible! This helps prevent the Darkside Dealers (eBay/comic shop sellers) from selling copies of these fan created DVD’s for $10-$200 Help others achieve their collecting goals for the sake of the hobby, not profit - Any “Angrysun” or any of these Releases found being sold for profit on any online auctions like eBay or on websites is not acceptable and will not be tolerated - I will report any auctions and sites found selling ANY “Angrysun” Releases for profit.

Thanks for your support.

Preserving the...<em>cringe</em>...Star Wars Holiday Special (Released)
Time
The Holiday Special I uploaded as a torrent is my first transfer (my brother really) - here are the details...

I transfered this myself with by brothers help using a PC (Intel 800mhz) with an AllinWonder 128 video card (PCI) from a Panasonic VHS player (nothing fancy - since broke and thrown away) using Monster Composite cables (RCA , Yellow, Red White), TMPGenc 5.10 was used for the MPEG2 encoding (standard CBR - no fancy 2nd pass) Authored with ULEAD DVD 1 - I botched the video settings importing the the commercials part of an SECOND H.S. VHS tape (same broadcast but a 10th gen copy!!) and they did not come out full screen! (DOH) - The ORIGINAL also included a DVD-rom folder with a ton of extras and the printable covers (a remix of one of the covers from the prilliman website) it also featured my remix CD in MP3 format and a cover also plus my NFO's. (menu art was Chewies house )

The Star Wars Holiday Special - V.1 - “eBay” - Angrysun Release
- Angrysun Release BLAK0001
- 1 DVDr - Fan Preservation/Compilation
- Source - 2nd generation VHS recording of OTA from KCMO Channel 5 Kansas City, Missouri
- Interactive Menu
- Custom Cover Art available

Features
* The Muppets Episode - sourced from SVCD copy (napster r.i.p.)
* Vintage Star Wars Television Trailers from my VHS transfer
* The Kenner Toy Commercial Collection (not Fullscreen)

These are eJackers selling my first DVD that I uploaded...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6389643879&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6390971817&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2475&item=5971742847&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6390913429&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted it for free but so many have profited from it - THIS has also happened to Dr. Gonzo's OT transfers (ejackers have made MILLIONS from Dr. G's set!!) and Cowclops original transfer (sold by TR47)

I can get this to ANYONE for a VERY small donation - Screw those ejackers I'm the original creator - I never ment for this to be sold for profit (that's why I uploaded it was for fans to get it for free!!) people are getting swindled paying $30!

THE second "unauthorized white" version was done with the a transfer that I got from Rowman (the second and better version then mine that is on eBay now also - has wookies in the menu, isolated cartoon segment and a single Kenner ad with R2 and 3PO) - I just redid the menus to match the menus for my other releases (white menus - I have matching DVD cover/menu art for all of them )) - and added a rare FOX NEWS clip abouth the anniversary of the H.S. - I have given a few copies of this one away to forum members (in trades and what nots) ReverendBeastly included in this run ( me thinks )... but this one has never been uploaded.

THE FINAL and second version "unauthorized white" version was made from the VERY same "KCCI" Broadcast tape from above (WHICH is really a BETA tape > VHS transfer > DVD - I've seen a REAL life BETA tape at Celebration I when I was there)

- This version was sold on eBay by both my brothers for $9.99 for a limited time (the auctions also came with instructions to get them via the torrents and the OT forums for free, trade or a few bucks - and my email address was included) it also includes a big fat DVD-rom folder with my NFO and a TON of stuff - BUT my brother was reported and shut down for selling MY Datsun DVD's which is ODD that it was NOT the Holiday Special but the Datsun DVD's EVEN stranger is the fact that this syncs up with every post I made about profiteer[s] here on these very forums hmmmmmm.....

I have also burned about 20 copies for people that have emailed me about this disc (you still can!!) - SO I can say between Al, P-Dogg and myself we have done about 45 DVD's total between trades, ebay and giving them out but this one has never been uploaded either..

The Star Wars Holiday Special - KCCI - Angrysun Release
Newer Transfer with Higher Quality
- Angrysun Release BLAK0016
- 1 DVDr - Fan Preservation/Compilation
- Source - alleged 1st generation “broadcast” tape from KCCI Channel 8 Des Moines, Iowa

I hope this clears up the confusion on my many ANGRYSUN VERSIONS of the Holiday Special

NOW, I also have a third version (hahahahaha) of the H.S. - I HAD NOTHING to do with this one at all but came from another trade..

NEW –

Liningup.net and StarWarsTV online video channel
Time
Hey gang check out this site (It's still kinda in a beta state) - I was approached by a fellow Star Wars fan (Justin S.) that has helped contribute to past Lineups at the Grauman Chianese Theater well their group helps make donations to Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation and when I was asked if I could help with a new Project they had cooking up I said SURE!!!!

So, after a few phone calls and many emails with Justin and his friends - I found out that they were planning on broadcasting the actual lineup via web cams and they had also planned to broadcast STAR WARS content for those waiting in line via WIFI, stuff like interviews, documentaries and other rare Star Wars jems they also plan on putting a documentary of the whole "liningup" event.

Well ANYWAY...

I've now contributed over 24 DVD's of Doc's and other rare Star Wars titles and also 2 DVD's full of all the Fan Films I could get my hands on to help out. They will be streaming the DVD's for fans of the line to help them pass the time!

Give em a call to show your support!

- the number for the pay phone outside the Grauman's Chinese Theater is (323) 462-9609

Stop by and check it out!

http://liningup.net/ and the http://www.firstcutlive.tv/liningup site!

LiningUp TV is the interactive broadcasting portal for LiningUp.net’s 2005 charity drive, during which hundreds of fans line up for six weeks outside the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. to see the premier of the final Star Wars episode, and to raise money for the California-Arizona-Nevada chapter of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation. LiningUp.net raised $75,000 for the Starlight Starbright chapter during the previous two Star Wars premiers in 1999 and 2002, and it hopes to raise at least $50,000 more this year. LiningUp TV is broadcast on First Cut Live, a network of Continental Vista Broadcasting Group.

BEST OF LUCK!

And MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL!!!!!!

Info: Star Wars DVD trades - Will trade for SW Toys and other SW titles
Time

I’m lookin for trades!

I’d like to get some Star Wars vehicles (Tie’s, X-wings or whatever!), R2-units, Troopers, Star Wars LD’s, VHS/Beta or other Star Wars DVD’s that I don’t have.

I’m NOT into trading for REAL bootlegs (no theater, TV or retails copies accepted or wanted!)

For all the fans out there here is my trade list -

Just email me for any trades!

Here are the details…

I can provide you with FREE DOWNLOAD LINKS for most of my titles via BitTorrent.

All titles that I share are either known to be Fan created Preservation efforts, Fan created edits, OUT-OF-PRINT titles or titles that are not YET available on any “Official” currently produced DVD, Laserdisc or VHS release. I will not offer any titles that are copies of available “Official” DVD’s via torrent or trade - these titles can and will be removed once any “Official” and “UNALTERED” DVD or other RETAIL version is made available to the general public.

PLEASE purchase or acquire via trade any OFFICIAL copies of these titles when possible (i.e. Laserdisc, VHS, CED or DVD) please don’t support piracy!

Rikter Blaksvn - Rikter_Blaksvn@yahoo.com

Hmmm... I've only seen one that was a Torrent. It had the Kenner commercials and the Muppet Show as well. What is the "unauthorized white" version? How does it differ from the "eBay" version?

Another Transfer - I've done 4 of the 6 Holiday Special DVD's that are out there

RowMan - I do know that I got one from you but do you remember what staion it was from? (my brother and I have done 3 VHS transfers - and I forgot which one I got from you - was it the one with the wookies in the menu?)
