Sadly and on my account I've just stepped away from this project...
This has been a frustrating project for me and it really should not have been but I've been very distracted with some serious personal family issues the last few weeks. That and the video on Jedi is 352x480, and all the materials I did were for 720x480 and I've since deleted all my source files for the letter, music video and the extras DOH!!!!!!!! It had taken me 3 days to get it all together and a few convert it all (The music video, letter and credits were all encoded frame by frame from Photoshop to TMPGEnc) and I didn't save any of the files!!!!!!!! DANG IT!
Dark Jedi - I'm VERY sorry about this but Boba Feta has a very HOT version of this set and I think that my version of STAR WARS SE sould just be scratched and we should release the Boba Feta set in it's place...
(I may finish this set after my break and once I get all the stuff reconverted as both ANH and ESB are done)
HumpMeObiWan, eDroj, Knolly, LordJedi, Codester, Bwlag and Harrison for helping on MYSPLEEN with the seeds gang and a VERY Special thanks to SEGAFLIP for upping these for me on the NEWSGROUPS!! (I really need an account!!)
Originally posted by: HumpMeObiWan I wish I could but there's no other (working) computers in the house. Your suggestion has given me the idea though that instead of wasting the time of the other seeders downloading my files from them I should try some alternatives, maybe I can get a friend to bring over their computer or just borrow their DVD-ROM and temporarily install it in mine. Thanks for the thought lordjedi.
HumpMeObiWan - Skip the ANH and try the ESB for now!
SO sorry about that!! - I burned all the discs at 8x for this batch on two drives at once (I found that 1 in every 1--15 discs burned via USB might have CRC errors - I figure it's because of the USB writer at 8x as I've very rarely had issues at 4x)
This DVD features samples from 7 of the most popular NTSC Star Wars OT laserdisc transfers...

I've not yet finished the covers or the NFO's that's why I had planned for an upload on Monday (the covers are mock-ups with no backs ) - We have at least 8 seeds lined up so getting seeds on the torrents is really not an issue now and once SEGAFLIP ups them on the alt.hoobies.things group it will only take about 1 days to have a TON of seeders there also -
What about the extras disk? The one by rowman. Is that available already?
- Well since these are not a part of the Cowclops V.2 set I was planning a totally seperate upload for them AND I will also start a seperate thread for the Rowman releases once I take a little break from the forum over the weekend
But for those that don't want to wait for the uploads drop me an email for details on the set.
Originally posted by: zion All TVs overscan. If you play the DVD on your computer though, you will be able to see the whole image.
True, but with the TV calibrated properly the OVER OVER scan can be eliminated and the picture can almost be restored - BUT this must be done by an ISF certified calibrator (call around to TV repair shops ) or you can attempt to get into your TV service menu - do a google search (but you'll need a few tools i.e. tv's service manual, Video Essentials DVD or SMPTE color bars and a BLUE filter (Wratten Gelatin Filter 98 - Kodak catalog number 149-6298)
Originally posted by: Observer Also, at the beginning of each film, the blue border around the THX logo extends past the right side of my screen. This may just be an issue with my TV/DVD player, but it leads me to believe that about an inch or two of video is cut off the right side of the film. Anyone else notice this on their TV/monitor?
- Your TV is OVERSCANNED and that's why your missing the edges
Originally posted by: Karyudo For a release with a thread this long, and a release date relatively back in the past, and with this much hype, it's sorta disappointing that there hasn't been any sort of wide release on a.b.starwars or MySpleen or what-have-you. Wasn't part of the idea that the people who got DVDs directly would take responsibility for wide distribution? Just a rhetorical question.
And as for a wide release....
There really are only 3 of us here on the OT that regularly upload DVD's for the fans - Metallaxis, The Dark One and myself (and it took me 30 days to get a copy after payment)
As I do have the set now, I will be uploading the set STARTING on monday on MYSPLEEN.NET and I do have plans on having this uploaded on the alt.hoobiedoobies.newsgroupiesthingies (help me DARK ONE your my only hope!) once I get the uploader confirmed. I shipped out 8 free sets to the seeders on yesterday so everyone should have them this weekend so this set will get out there VERY fast once I upload them on monday.
So please hold tight gang!!
The TENATIVE upload plan looks like this....
SUNDAY the 7th - I create the DVD-Rom folders (with NFO files & DVD art) & the .torrent file using the VIDEO_TS folder structure for those with broadband but yet still run the antiquated win98 OS and email them to the seeders
MONDAY the 8th - I'll upload the Cowclops V.2 capture of STAR WARS
WEDNESDAY the 10th - The Empire Strikes Back - Cowclops V.2
FRIDAY the 12th - Return of the Jedi - Cowclops V.2
Well I figure it also time to have a thread that lists a few of the STAR WARS inspired DVD's that I've created - I may add the non Star Wars stuff also when I get the list completed
Angrysvn Productions Presents The Unauthorized Collection, a continuing series of fan created preservation efforts, is dedicated to gathering the greatest lost, uncut, alternate and broadcasted programs from around the world and publishing them in editions that offer the highest quality (when applicable) transfers. Angrysun Productions began with a mission to put these titles into the hands of as many collectors as possible. All of the transfers published under the Angrysun banner represent cinema at its finest and its worst. In our ten years of trading and internet uploading, we've seen a lot of things change, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to publishing the defining moments of cinema in the world's best digital editions.
The foundation of the collection is the work of such masters of cinema as Donner, Corman, Morgan, Wong, Carpenter, Hartley and Lucas. Most films are presented in their original uncut, and if possible in its original aspect ratio, as its maker intended it to be or not to be seen. Some films maybe fan interpreted renditions in the form of “fan edits” of the original films or broadcasts, For every disc we use state-of-the-art commercially available equipment and computers with the finest retail digital video software to meet our rigorous yet questionable standards, the titles are produced with the best available materials and sources. In particular, considerable effort has been expended to obtain the best image and sound quality for every title. Sadly many titles in The Unauthorized Collection are transferred from antiquated video formats, and overall quality variations are inevitable, yet we take time during the original source materials-to-digital video transfer to create the most accurate transfers possible.
All titles in The Unauthorized Collection are either known to be fan created preservation efforts, which are not YET available on any official or currently produced DVD, Laserdisc or VHS release. The creation of this collection was not intended for profit or infringement but strictly for the preservation of these very rare and unique titles - this is being done for the fans by fans. These titles can and will be removed once any official and unaltered DVD or other retail version is made available to the general public. PLEASE purchase or acquire via trade any official copies of these titles when possible (i.e. Laserdisc, VHS, CED or DVD) please don't support piracy!
To date, more than 50 films, television programs, documentaries and fan edits have been preserved in our archive library of DVDs; the most significant archive of unauthorized DVD’s available to the home viewer and film collector. We have posted a number of these titles on the internet for free downloads on Newsgroups, P2P services and the BitTorrent community via our release group Blaksvn-Torrentz and we will continue to do so for other fans as long as possible and bandwidth permits or until the entire collection has been posted.
Please promise to copy these discs as many times as you can and give/trade copies to EVERY fan you know if you have downloaded a torrent file PLEASE keep the seed going for as long as possible! This helps prevent the Darkside Dealers (eBay/comic shop sellers) from selling copies of these fan created DVD’s for $10-$200; help others achieve their collecting goals for the sake of the hobby, not profit.
Thanks for your support. Rikter Blaksvn
