Mainly because I wasn't on them in the first place, but that is only one of many reasons.
I can say for sure that there are many scientists who have completely bizarre ideas about global warming. I was listening to a scientist on the radio talking about how the ice cap over the North Pole is going to disappear in a year! One, freaking year! That's so incredible it almost causes me to reject everything scientists say on global warming entirely, but I do recognize that there is some truth in it.
Some of it is political though. Look at what happened with the banning of CFCs. CFCs were banned by politicians who didn't know their facts. The ozone hole cannot spread away from Antarctica, and cannot occur outside of the months of August to November (I think it's those months), because it's creation is dependent on the Polar Vortex which only occurs in that place during those months. CFCs are responsible for only a minute amount of the damage caused to the ozone hole, which has been occurring since long before humans were able to affect it at all.
Many, though not all, scientists think the ozone hole is a serious problem, but they don't seem to have any evidence for it and it was an initial misinterpretation of the data that led to the misconceptions about the ozone hole.
I think the same goes for global warming.
Thanks again, Ryan! I guess Flickr does it to prevent people from using your photos without your permission, but it would be nice to have it easier with your own photos. I'll get photos up once I take them...(I haven't taken any with the tanks fully set up because I've lost my battery charger :P).

Done. :D
Now that there's actually some interest in this thread, I'll have to post pictures sometime. :) I'll have to figure out how to post pictures here from Flickr again, since Flickr likes to make it really inconvenient to do so.
I agree. Some people dislike the idea of canon altogether, but I don't mind it at all, provided there is actually canon and not a big mess of contradictions peddled as canon.
The heart can easily be replaced with a more suitable body part. I figured my point would get across anyway, but yes, the analogy was poor.
Corellia would make sense, but I would like to see mostly completely new planets, aside from Coruscant.
The answer is an emphatic NO. The uterus is still designed to contain and protect an embryo/fetus regardless of whether the uterus works or not, or whether other failing body functions will soon render it useless. You don't say a person's heart isn't designed to pump blood because the heart didn't develop properly, or that it wasn't designed for that purpose because their lungs are failing. The same goes for any other organ/muscle/limb regardless of whether or not a person would have survived long enough to use it without medical aid.

^My thoughts exactly. If it's so remote, why is it so important?
but that grammar still applies
In such a scenario, the girl was arguably meant to live long enough to reproduce. If God is real, he would have allowed her to live and it wouldn't have gone against his plan for that girl. If God is not real, she was not "meant" to die young, so she would be just as culpable as if she had been born entirely healthy and had been expected to live a long life.
It's supposed to make grammatical sense if nothing else...

It was in no way a masterpiece, but I enjoyed it overall.
That's made by one of the members here. (Take a look a few threads down and you find this.)
EDIT: There was a thread merge for those of you who think Octorox and I are super dumb.
Why not?

I'm old enough to remember owning this. Don't know why Evel never got his own monthly title, (this was a one shot) as it would have been interesting to see him in the Marvel Universe.
There may have been legal issues preventing that. He was a real guy, after all.
It happened about three or four times today (and I was only online between about 4:00-5:00 and 9:30-12:00 MST).
