How about a game of Japanese Chess, i.e. Shogi? Now playing Shogi4
Time

Ouch, I can't believe I boxed myself in like that.

I would like to try Kokusai Sannin, but since I'm terrible at figuring out VirtualBox, we might have to wait until tomorrow evening, or even Sunday to actually start (which isn't really a big deal).

Depending on how things go, my dad might move through me (i.e. we'll have the game up only on my computer for simplicity and I'll just tell you the move he wants to make). I promise not to cheat. ;)

Personal Quest to Learn Over 20 Languages

Si tu veux pratiquer, je suis ici chaque soir. :)

My French is coming along. I can understand roughly twice as much as I could when I first got to Québec. I'm working through 1984 in French (without translating anything I read in my head), and so far, by supplementing what I actually understand with what I remember from reading it in English, I can understand most of it.

ATTENTION ALL UK PEOPLE: How will/would you vote in the referendum?

I'm now looking at other countries to live in.

I don't want to be in the UK and watch the NHS killed by UKIP and the bred for power Tories of the Conservatives, Liberals and NuLabour.

I don't the government that rules me sending more people off to die in senseless oil wars.

We had a chance to change the politics of these isles for the better and more than half of Scotland (and that same division was in the streets I walk through) blew that chance.

It was a democratic decision, the turn out was good, there was negative propaganda but you expect that in any political decision. But the apathy and meekness of over half the people makes it no longer a country I want to associate with. When everything goes to pot I don't want to be around to see those bewildered looks of retrospective realisation.

Come to Canada! There's plenty of space here and we spell things almost as oddly as the British do!

Nice try, but Obi-Wan didn't fall down the shaft, he fell into it. And he wasn't defeated, Darth Maul just temporarily gained the upper hand.

Jesus, it was just hyperbole.

Sorry (not really), I thought you were just trying to pretend you didn't make a mistake when you really did, but I guess you didn't and I was being stupid.

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

However, it's also possible they build their spaceships like we build cars--not well enough to last over a decade (although my dad's work van begs to differ :P). If they've had the technology for space travel for thousands and thousands of years, chances are they can make spacecraft fairly cheaply. Larger ships, like Star Destroyers, would definitely be built to last longer, however.

Alternatively, spaceships are actually expensive in the Star Wars universe and they are built to last, as you think should be the case.
