I assume you're promoting (is that optional or obligatory in Kokusai Sannin)?

I believe the reason Kenner switched to cloth-caped Jawas was because vinyl was more expensive, and thus didn't sell as well. It cost about the same as a regular-sized figure, if I recall correctly--from my source, not my preexistence--so people didn't feel they were getting their money's worth. They changed it to cloth so they could make and sell it cheaper, so that more people would buy it.

It was made by Palitoy, which was a British toy company. Many of its play sets and figures varied slightly from the US line of toys.
The thread?
EDIT: Frink got there first...

I am not sure what's going on. Let me review the moves as I read them. Normally in shogi, every player's move is counted separately (thus all three of us make moves 1, 2, and 3, though in chess we would just label all that move 1), but I am going to label them like our chess for ease of viewing:
First-Ric, Middle-Post, Last-Ender
1. L-14yz, P10ij-10kl, P-7vw
2. P13yz???-12yz (not possible, both are yz, first incorrect), and now you are moving again before either of us, P13no-12op
I think you misunderstood your dad's and my last moves, which were piece corrections. Maybe I'm confused. I don't know.
EDIT: I missed my dad's post and superfluously wrote out all the moves again. Oh well, at least we all agree.
The reason I made a third move and didn't take back my second move is because I was under the mistaken impression that you two weren't switching your moves to the opposite sides as well as switching pieces. I ended up thinking you two each had a second move. Silly me.
Well, I think we're all in agreement now. Post Praetorian darth_ender's turn.
Yes, that`s right. Just cancel my second move. I will use my third move for my second move instead.
No, the switched sides won't affect my move, so your point point is still valid. I think it's wrong though. My lance is two rows below the first pawn I moved, so they should line up.
I'll make my next move assuming I'm correct, which is hopefully the case.
P13no-12op
Are we continuing from where we left off, but with you two on opposite sides, or going back to the beginning of the game, making ender's move the second of the first round?

And Ric, I think your pawn move is confusing. Unless the cells are differently lined up with the hexes (a distinct possibility), you could move Pxy or Pzaa to the cell indicated, but Pyz actually straddles two cells.
Are you sure I'm wrong? All the moves made so far work for me, including my pawn move, which works just fine on my board.
I'd make my move now, but I want to make sure we're all on the same page first.
I've never once seen that before. Interesting.

That would prevent spoilers for sure, but I dunno, it sounds pretty dull to me.
Glad to hear that! Maybe we can get this thread back on track now.
I think I was thinking clockwise but wrote counter-clockwise. :P I think I'd also rather go with clockwise anyway.
Also, you're asking the wrong guy if you can take over his pieces. Darth_ender is blue, not me.
I loved the Speeder Bike as well, but because of its explosive abilities it was missing a piece and was held together with a rubber band by the time it got to me.
I don't have a single favourite Star Wars toy, but I really liked the Kenner AT-AT, Jawa Sandcrawler, and Dewback.
Mods, please make this thread a sticky.
It was an interesting debate, and I thought someone as intellectually-minded as Post Praetorian would be nice to have around here. Then I found out he was Darth Vader and I was Luke. I guess this is the alternate reality in which they overcome their differences and decide to play Shogi instead of fighting.
P13yz-12yz
Well, I doubt the U.S. will adopt the metric system until they no longer have so much influence on the rest of the world.
No argument there! And we Canadians constantly have to suffer for it....
I think it would be best to use the excel coordinates, since that's easiest to figure out.
I think I have the alliance thing mostly figured out. My dad and I will not be beginning the game in an alliance.
I'm assuming the turns rotate counter-clockwise (beginning with the player on the bottom), and I will make the first move:
L-14yz
I'll only accept it if the Canadian Laserdisc Audio Track has a greater value than the American Laserdisc Audio Track (or would it be file?).
Oh, you did ask here...
Why did you ask in the other thread too?
Why not ask in that thread instead of this one, which is about...um...other things, like a scene in Star Trek, and Elvis shooting things, and vulgarity, and friendship, and...stuff?
I think that's because the idea is that these people don't live on earth, and thus mostly don't have the same names we do. I know plenty of kids with names more exotic than that, because they aren't European. I've never had a problem with funny names, because there are even funnier ones in real life.
For instance, there was a kid in my grade 7 class with a seventeen letter first name. He usually shortened it to Sisan for other people's benefit, but it beats most of those Star Wars names in terms of exoticity (is there a better word for that?).
The spreadsheet works fine. Coincidentally, I just clicked on to the Wikipedia page for Kokusai Sannin Shogi to check out the rules. I should be ready to play later this evening, provided my dad is also ready.
It's OK, we're still friends. XD
Hmmm...maybe it depends. My family tried to eat at a restaurant that had a bar once, but they didn't allow minors inside. Either that or there are different regulations in Canada.
