What I'm really missing is some more detailed info for each release like the following:

- Why was this project made?

- What video and audio sources were used?

- What post-processing if any was applied? (color correction/clean up/etc...)

- Where do the extra's come from?

I've been curious about this info too.  It seems like the Conan releases and the NOTLD'90 release had a lot of this info in this thread, but later releases had little or none.  It's interesting to read about this stuff.

I requested an invitation to cinemageddon because I head of this tracker here in hope I would be able to source download of the Team Blu releases. This unfortunately turned out to be not the case because there is basically no Team Blu releases on that tracker.

There are actually 2 Team Blu releases on Cinemageddon now, for Private School, and The Wild Life. Check it out.

No problem, I understand.

I have another idea:

If someone from Team Blu uploads each torrent and controls the initial seeding from their home connection, I could download each of those torrents to my seedbox and leave them seeding there for 6 months.

So, each Team Blu torrent would be guaranteed to have a fast seed for at least 6 months after being uploaded. (Probably longer since some of the snatchers will stick around to seed too.)

The initial seeder wouldn't even need to be connectable because my seedbox is connectable, and many others in the swarm will be connectable, so the files will still get distributed to the seedboxes.

So, if I make a commitment to keep each Team Blu torrent seeded for 6 months after it is uploaded, would that be an agreeable plan?

I got to thinking about it, and even if some of us did split up the cost of a monthly seedbox, that would mean using paypal to collect funds, which would cost even more money because of the paypal fees.

I have an idea that wouldn't involve collecting funds from anyone, and I could afford to do this on my own: It would be possible for me to permanently host all of Team Blu's releases on my own personal seedbox. I have more than enough space on my box to do this, and I can handle the monthly bill by myself.

If dark_jedi or someone else from Team Blu could upload each release to MEGA or another file locker site just for long enough for me to grab the files, I could then upload them to my seedbox and store them there permanently. Then, once the torrent is uploaded, I could begin seeding from my box.

I already have the files for Conan extended bonus disk, and NOTLD'90, so those 2 releases won't need uploaded. The rest of them could be uploaded to MEGA one-at-a-time, and after I grab each one, they can be deleted from MEGA to make room for the next one.

The uploading to MEGA step could be skipped by sending BD-R's through the mail, but either way is fine by me.

As long as I keep these files seeded from my seedbox, the torrents will never be without at least one fast seeder.

Will that work?

If someone wants to go half with me on a monthly seedbox bill to donate to Team Blu, I'd be willing to pay half the cost of the box every month for the foreseeable future.

Whatbox seems to have the most storage space for the least amount of money. And what's more, they don't shut off the box if you reach your monthly upload limit. They only limit you to 5mbps/sec for the remainder of the month, so if that happened, then the torrents would still be seeding without interruption.

I think 1.35TB storage space would be enough to host all of Team Blu's releases so far, with enough room to spare for future releases.

We do not do just Horror.

I think the poll is asking about movies in general, not just horror.

I want to help with the seedbox, but I'm not sure I could pay the bill month after month... What if I donated a seedbox for 3 months in order to get the new torrents seeded, and then the people who snatch those torrents could handle the long-term seeding from there?

Check out the poll that's currently on the home page of Myspleen:

Should movies (esp 80s horror) really be on here?

  • Yes, they fit in the theme * 63% (229)
  • No, thats what trackers like CG are for 20% (71)
  • No, it doesn't fit into the theme 7% (27)
  • No, they are really high risk 6% (20)
  • No, movies shouldn't be here in general 4% (16)

It looks like the pro-movies crowd is winning.

With all of the horror-hosted movies/workprints/TV version movies that appear on Myspleen every single day, the Team Blu restoration/preservations would hardly be out of place there.
