Don’t know what happened to you guys but I was automatically forwarded to the new domain and all is well:

https://blurg.xyz/

Ha ha ha. I thought something must have been up. Don’t know why we weren’t forwarded. Thanks.

How do you register for that site? Invite required?@

If you had an account at Blu-Torrents just use your existing login info. If not, PM vinnie to ask for an invite.

Just Wanted to Say that “The Gate” looks absolutely amazing! I was able to grab it earlier today and have only skimmed through a few bits and pieces thus far, but the overall presentation is yet another Home run! Everything from the Menu design, to the artwork, to the included special features, and the film itself are just top notch. This has been a release I’ve hoped to see on Blu ray for a Long time from Lionsgate, and yet Team Blu has not only fulfilled that hope but arguably made any subsequent release irrelevant. Thanks so much once again guys, all of your work across the board is so appreciated! I anxiously look forward to what the future holds!

Was this release announced anywhere? I didn’t know it was out.

I just made those 2 changes and now it does not connect at all.

It might be that with your seedbox provider, the "Host" address is different for SFTP than regular FTP.

I'm currently using Feral Hosting for my seedbox, which has the same host address for both protocols, but perhaps they are different addresses with your current seedbox provider?

Maybe Vinnie could help with that info...

I use CuteFTP, does this have SFTP? and if so how do I make sure to use that?

According to the CuteFTP website, CuteFTP does support SFTP transfers.

First, your seedbox must support SFTP transfers or else it won't work, but most seedboxes I've seen do support it, so it's likely yours does too.

I haven't used CuteFTP since about 2002, so I'm not sure about the interface of that specific program, but it's probably not too different from Filezilla.

With filezilla, basically all you do is enter your "Host" as you normally would, but instead of using "Port 21",  enter "Port 22", and for the "Protocol" selection, set that to "SFTP" instead of "FTP".

So, the only 2 things you have to change in Filezilla are:

- Use "Port 22" instead of "Port 21"

and

- Select "SFTP" instead of "FTP"

If for some reason you have trouble using SFTP with CuteFTP, you could always install Filezilla and use that to upload instead. (Filezilla is completely FREE software, and is a very popular and widely-used SFTP client.)

From the beginning this looked like a problem with the torrent creation itself.

It's more likely that the problem was caused by corruption of the data as it was being uploaded to the seedbox.

SFTP should always be used to upload/download data instead of regular FTP.

FTP transfers cause data corruption, but if you upload/download with Filezilla in SFTP mode instead of FTP mode, the .md5 files should match up after the data is transferred.

The following I see a $4/month plan.. Get a few others to chip in we could cover a year.

http://www.seedboxsolutions.com/shared-servers/

That plan only has 250GB storage space, and dark_jedi would fill it up quickly.

https://whatbox.ca/plans/flex  have the most storage space for the money, and even if you hit your monthly upload limit, you can still upload at a speed of 5Mbps/sec for the rest of the month.

A seedbox doesn't do any good right now though, since a suitable bittorrent tracker to host the torrents is still needed.

Has anyone used https://mega.co.nz/?  Not sure if this would be a good alternative or not.

I think that was discussed earlier on in this thread, but there was some question about who would pay the fees for a MEGA account that will store more than 50GB of files. The first 50GB of storage is free, but you have to pay for more than that.

If my memory serves me correctly, dark_jedi didn't want to deal with the hassle of opening up a whole bunch of free MEGA accounts which would only store 1 or 2 Team Blu releases each.

Of course we could chip in to pay the fees for a premium MEGA account, but if we could do that, then we could just as easily chip in for a seedbox for dark_jedi to use. (Whatbox would be the best seedbox provider for the money, in my opinion.)

For what it's worth, I'm willing to donate fees toward one of these solutions, or something else if need be.

I am no longer there it is simple as that.

My bad... I believe you now.

dark_jedi said:

I really have no idea WTF you are looking at...

All of the comments you made there show nothing to indicate that you were disabled. Usually there is some kind of designation next to a username when a user gets disabled from a bittorrent site, but apparently not this time. It just looks like you are in a regular user class now. Again, my bad.

dark_jedi said:

Also why in the hell would I want anymore of our releases there now when I cannot even be there, someone please tell me that lol.

It makes sense that you don't want Team Blu releases uploaded there now.

I already said that uTorrent on my Home connection is a no go...

This is the part that I think some of us don't understand, but I won't try to argue with you about it.  It is completely your decision, of course.

I will figure something out at some point, I did before I will again.

I'm sure a lot of people will be glad to hear that.

I don't know what happened at BT, but if the point is to have a free and safe location to share projects, I don't see why we wouldn't continue to use that location if it's available to us regardless of whether we have administrative access or special privileges.  When that relationship began, no one was looking for special privileges, extra content,  to stream films online, or even to be treated as a VIP... All anyone wanted was to simply find a fast and safe place to share the projects.  Something BT fit to a T.  This site has always been the primary discussion location to discuss these projects, so even having access to a forum or conversations isn't necessary anywhere else.

Furthermore, it's been stated on numerous occasions in the past when there was no central location for the files to be shared, that people were free to upload/share TeamBlu's projects anywhere/everywhere, as long as proper credit is given.   What has changed that now we are being discouraged from using what is essentially the safest and fastest service everyone has access to?  Was whatever that went down so bad that we need to walkaway from everything?  This seems to punish all the wrong people.  Wouldn't a better option be to continue to utilize the infrastructure there and to continue to release projects while just avoiding all other aspects of the site?

We don't need a custom designed forum and special features to essentially share a link that guides us to a file.  Why not continue to utilize what's available to us while looking for other options and just not use the site for any other reason?

Ultimately I'm not a member of TeamBlu, so I have no say or impact on what the group ultimately decides to do, what I am however is a very big supporter of the work that they do and someone that has, and will continue to contribute in any way that he can.  As long as I can continue to find a way to access the projects they release, I'll make do, but it seems a shame to deny so many folks that are interested in these projects a means to get them easily when the infrastructure is already in place, but a conscious decision to not use that infrastructure has been made because of hard feelings between a few people.  Maybe what happened between TeamBlu and BT was bad enough to warrant this decision, I'll never know, but I've been a part of enough message boards, and forum feuds of the past 16 years to know that giving up a sure fire thing because of a disagreement/personal conflict between members never benefits anyone.

Every word of that is true, and Dark_Jedi does not appear to be banned there.

No seedbox is necessary to upload the files to Blu-Torrents. It works just as well whether you're connectable, or not connectable, it doesn't really matter. And once they're uploaded, the seedboxes of other users can keep them seeded.

But none of that matters because DJ's mind is made up...

Plenty of pars should help with the problem of missing or damaged files. Obfuscation should help with anyone outside of the community getting hold of the files and the passwords if needed could given by pm or such like, at the end of the day how hard can it be to hold of a password.

Some users said that even with the extra pars, it still wasn't quite enough to piece the files together. This was after some time had passed, of course. Some people could get it at first, but after so long enough pars disappeared that the download could no longer be completed.

As for the password issue... I probably shouldn't comment on that directly.  Just go back and read the earlier posts in this thread, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Bittorrent Sync pro seems to handle large file sizes alright.  Once the files are shared with others then other people can share just like bittorrent, but privately with a Bittorrent Sync key.

This is an interesting idea. Perhaps great for distribution immediately after each new release is announced, but maybe not so good for long-term availability for those who discover Team Blu's work at a later date. A bittorrent tracker would keep the torrent active for a long time, ensuring that late-comers would be able to download the older releases.

Somehow, this BT news doesn't surprise me.  :-/  The idea of self-hosting is interesting, though I would imagine it would be too much trouble for Team Blu to manage "memberships".  I hope something gets worked out sooner than later, because BT was such a great way to share Team Blu's work.

You can setup a "members" section using Wordpress as a front end pretty simple. The problem would be the actual download links.. Would they be direct links? If so, what prevents members sharing these "download links" with non members. There may be a free addon that adds a solution to this.

Right now, with my current host we pay about $80/year for unlimited space and bandwidth for our domain. Isn't too expensive for your own web site.  Includes WordPress capability. I'd be willing to help if this is something considered, assuming help was needed.

I do like the other idea of donations for a torrent. You'd definitely have mine.

Not a bad idea, but that could be interpreted by certain authorities as Team Blu selling access to the content. (Even though the cash would only be used for web hosting, they would still see Team Blu collecting money in exchange for download links, and that could spell trouble.)

In my humble opinion, bittorrent is the ultimate way to distribute the content. Public trackers are a problem due to people getting DMCA notices from their ISPs, so a good private bittorrent tracker is ideal. It really is a shame that things didn't work out at Blu-Torrents, because that was a great tracker for Team-Blu's work while it lasted. Surely there must be another private tracker that would accept Team Blu's work, and also would not be too difficult for the readers of this forum to get invites to...
