Will the color of the star wars films episodes 4-6 be fixed for the blu-ray release?
Time

To be frank, I don't think the bluish tint would be such a problem if the picture looked brighter and the lighstabers had their proper hue. Though we might consider that Luke's Emperor scream in The Empire Strikes Back was an deliberate artistic decision, but did it make it to the 2004 DVDs?

What baffles me is Episode I's pink, how did that happen?

I felt the duel was pretty much the whole point behind The Phantom Menace. It's the Jedi's first real battle in thousands of years, and the only unsuccesful part in Palpatine's plan (as he was forced to find a new apprentice).

But back on Jar Jar, it has occured to me that instead of being banished he should have escaped the city. With the Gungans being so perchant to war, Jar Jar could be established as a pacifist that left because he didn't want to join the army.

The Gungans should have their own language. This would be a great way of throwing in new dialogue and somewhat alter their personality. Jar Jar, crazy as it sounds should be played by a woman (albeit in a deepened voice).

Something else we need is people calling Obi-Wan "Ben". Most likely General Grievous and many of the non-Jedi characters.

Likewise the multiple battles in The Phantom Menace ought to be reduced by:

  • Removing everything in the Gungan battle after the droids enter the shield. We would only know their fate in the ending.
  • Anakin not going into space and blowing the Federation ship. I feel this achievement was given way too much importance whereas the real focus should be the Duel.
  • Having the Queen and her troupes sneaking into the palace rather than blowing and things and making enough noise for the Viceroy to notice.

Would anyone want to see more star wars movies if they were made ?
Time

I would. Star Wars is a worldwide phenomenon that never ceases to amaze me. Rather than picking up wher Return left off however there should be further prequels showing the origins of the Force and the first battle with the Sith. Also, there should be more focus on the primitive races, to show what Star Wars looks like without technology.

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

Some things that came to my head:

Empire

1. Modify the Emperor's voice so he sounds more like in ROTJ.

2. Enhance Bossk a tad (like the Cantina creatures).

3. Have the voice in Bespin that says "Who are you?!" sounds more like a stormtrooper, so it makes sense 3PO goes "Stormtroopers? Here? We're in danger!".

4. Restore Darth Vader's "Ahhhgh!".

5. Have ligthnings below Luke when he is hanging for his life in Bespin, to make the possibility of his fall even more edgy and exxxxtreme.

Jedi

1. Have Jabba drooling foam when Leia strangles him, sort of a sick end for a sick character.

2. Fix bad music editing during the Sail Berge Assault.

3. Fix bad music editing when the Emperor arrives (maybe re-editing the scene so it matches with the Album version of the cue).

4. Fix bad music editing when Luke attacks the Emperor (this one lasts a few seconds though).

5. Fix bad music edits in general (ROTJ had too damn many).

6. Fix instances where Ewoks make Jawa sounds.

My Wish as a Star Wars and Indiana Jones fan. George Lucas please stop destroying Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Anyone else feel the same way?
Time

George's ways have not been without their faults, but I don't see that as a reason to condemn each and every move the man makes. I'm happy with the films we got, and will continue to be, even if the mastermind behind them refuses to present them properly on home video.

Jabba the Hutt
Time

I think the scene makes no sense when inserted into the film. Han is trying to escape Tatooine in a hurry due to the bounty hunters that are pursuing him; yet in the middle there's this scene where he manages to buy some time with a 15% extra. I feel it makes the price on his head much less dramatic.

Info & Help: looking for... The original Latin American Spanish dubbings
Time

Good evening all. I’m a Star Wars from Mexico. As we all know, preservation of the original Star Wars films in their unaltered edits has become has become a hot topic these years. At the same time, in Latin America, the original spanish dubs that were in theaters (and seen several times on TV before the SE) have become somewhat of a holy grail for us fans from Mexico.

The 2004 DVDs featured new dubs as the originals could not match with the altered scenes/dialogue. These dubbings aren’t bad at all (as they’re done by the Jesus Barrero studio), but it’s a shame the ones I grew up with have long been replaced by it. The GOUT DVDs themeselves apparently carry the European spanish dubbings too, whereas the R4 versions of that release are only in english.

So, does anyone know of a source (TV, VHS, etc) that can be used to preserve these rarities? It would be a shame if they were lost in time as it has happened to so many goodies of the franchise.

Here are samples of those dubbings:
