Idea Wanted... for solving Game of Thrones: The Ending Chapters
Time

I recently saw DarthYcey’s take on S7&8 and I think Night King’s ending there was spot on, very close to your original idea. I’m not certain on how much it took from almightycutie, I haven’t seen that one, but I would say is the best we can get from the source material. Also worth checking out the post to read how it rearranged the rest of this two failed seasons to make a worthy one.

Game of Thrones: Restored, Restructured, Rewatchable (Released)
Time

I finished this edit and I have a few things to say. I hope they are worth the read. (I will try to give positive feedback, but I don’t think I’m good at it, sorry).

First things first: I like it. I was surprised by the fact that I was keen to watch the next episode every day. I decided to settle for one each night and so I did. After every chapter I was excited to see what came next, even do I knew it, since I read the whole post beforehand. I couldn’t wait and I watched the last 2 episodes in a raw. I think you did a great job, this does some healing and it can be my head canon.

The few things I noticed that made me “lose foot”, were 2 minor changes and other bigger one. I missed Gendry killing the 2 guards in Kingslanding, since it made his next scene more believable, as it made sir Davos sentence about Gendry’s ability with the hummer better. But that is minor and a first timer will never notice it, so that’s just me.

The big problem to me was “Into the North”. Don’t get me wrong, the editing is very good and making Bran tell Daenerys was very nice (about time he did something with his powers), but to me it is not clear what they were trying to achieve, for certain not kill the Night King. I think, stupid as it is, showing them capture the wight instead of trying to hide it, would help a lot this chapter plot wise. More so, when there are few takes where there is a tied wight and they protect it. It will add up 20 seconds to the chapter and it will give much more sense to it. Then again, it’s just my opinion.
The other minor thing was the whole Iron throne scene, but given the source material, is as good as it can possibly be.

I think making Bran posses Arya to do the big kill was very well put. We saw her do the move on Brianne few chapters ago so it’s quite plausible for it to happen again, more so with Bran’s big assist.

All in all, I think this is a great edit, thanks for kipping Missandei alive. I wish there where subtitles for it, so I could show to my friends. I really appreciate the effort put into this edit. It’s the best thing that happened to Game of Thrones since the Great Sept of Baelor became a summer terrace.

Star Wars: The Coaxium Heist (COMPLETED)
Time

Yesterday I finally watched this edit (thanks to Yuri_Kenobi for the subtitles, they are great) and best thing I can say of it is I couldn’t tell what was added or trimmed, except for the “Han Solo” scene, but now it works. The movie was quite enjoyable, to the point where now will be part of my Star Wars marathons, which wasn’t before. Thanks Digmod for this edit.

Well now that was put on the table, there’s a minor issue that bugs me. I came across to it while making the Spanish subs (WIP): “Fuel reserves at six hours.” I don’t know if this was discussed before, but why mention time when using fuel? and worse, hours in Star Wars. Mention parsecs or something else, distance. It was properly cuted out in TROS:Ascendant and I wander if it would be posible to take it out of this edit, maybe by trimming the scene a bit or even whole could work.

Hi!
I posted this in the last post of the GoT movies Anjohan has, but I think it fits better here. I don’t think this video has been posted before in any GoT related post.
It’s 2 hours long, but I think it gives us the ending GoT deserved, not the one we got, episode by episode:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HX2mVfRv7kw&t=6s

I don’t think this can be made, but probably Anjohan can get some good ideas from this for the final movie, it is really well thought and put.

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

Hi everyone, big fan of what’s going on here! I’ve been following this thread from the very beginning I watched Workprint V2 and it already looked way better than the original film, and with the last changes getting ready I think we’ll finally get the movie we deserved (I mean, with the material we have. I wish Snoke could have survived TLJ to be the main villain here).

I know we want to slow things down here for better pacing, and speeding things up is a no no, but: I can’t stand Slow-mo Kylo. It takes me out of the movie so bad. I can see JJ telling A. Driver “Hey you’re a badass character, so you have to do badass stuff, like killing people going backwards, and at the same time, make sure you move your foot correctly so you’ll set this on fire at the same time, cause just killing people backwards is not badass enough for kylo ren. Oh oh, and we’ll make it slo-mo, cause it’s more badass, I know there isn’t slo-mo in star wars, but eff it, we’re adding flashbacks in this one already.”

I’m no editor, so this is just a thought, but could someone sped Kylo up to normal or even fast-sithlike speed? I think it would be much more starwarsy and, also, badass. I know, I know I’m loco, speeding things up WTF. I know this will bring problems like the score and all, and I know I’m very late for the party, but it has being bothering me lately and I wanted to share my thought.

Cheers and all my respect for all of you editors out there!

I think the deleted scene could still be salvaged. All that needs to be worked on is the background, which could be added in from other scenes.

This scene should be in the movie. It’s good to see Finn do something else than scream REEEY and see Phasma with a little more depth than Fett (but that wouldn’t be too starwarsy, would it?). I hope someone here could fix that scene. Anyhow congrats on all your good work Hal, your edits are my way to go for the Star Wars marathons.

I’m sorry to read this. I felt that your extended editions where a great way to enjoy the movies as a whole, beter than the original release. Trolls will be trolls. I know it’s quite unpopular to share fanedits as torrent, but some do, as for example Hal9000. Maybe to make certain to be credited for your work, you could torrent them as well. Anyhow, your work is fantastic and I hope you keep up the good work. Cheers!

I tried to give you some positive feedback for Countdown in the other post and I will do the same now. I think the first one came up really great as an edit, except for a minor detail that I explained in the Countdown thread. As for this one I have to say that I couldn’t finish it. Not due to quality, but sound. I liked the beginning with Bale (although I have my doubts due to characters age, shouldn’t John Connor look older by 2029?).

My problem with the movie was with the scene after the bar. I get what you where aiming for with the music change, but I found several problems with that scene. First, it’s extremely loud, too much, as you can’t hear the conversation between the shotgun guy and the T800. Second, you can still here the beginning of Wild thing, which feels weird with the introduction of Swat attack so sudden and loud. Third, I think for anyone who has watched the movie before, that scene is such an iconic moment that changing the song doesn’t seem to fit properly. Also the bike sound doesn’t fit the bike moves.

After this scene there seemed to be a problem with the sound, (maybe it was my computer), too loud at times to low some others I spent the next 20 minutes of the film turning the volume up and down until I decided to stop. Seems odd cause for T1 the sound was not an issue at all.

I am not degrading your job, at least that’s not my goal. I just wanted to share my thoughts and feedback. I really like your ideas for this and I appreciate the effort and thought you put in it. I really hope to see a V2 with the sound issues fixed. Great job!

I honestly wouldn’t know if it’s your computer or not. The movie sounds fine with my headphones. I don’t play thing through my computer speakers because I don’t live alone and it would bother others.

The thing with the bar scene, there very well could be a problem, but I can’t fix it. I can’t cut dialog from scenes, no matter what technique I try the sound on films I have are always on the same tracks. Just like with MiB4 the music is still there, just softer, or the og music will play when the people talk, and that sounds bad to me. But as I said I use a head phone jack and the stuff sounds fine to me when I play it.

It’s a shame you couldn’t enjoy it. Sorry for wasting your time.

Hey! No time wasted! I love to see one of my favourite movies getting some love! And I did enjoy a lot your approach for T1.

Also after reading your comment I decided to give it a second try. This time with my headphones and I have to say, even though I still found some minor issue with the audio I could go through the whole movie, and I enjoyed your approach. About the bar scene, maybe you could try to lower a little the whole thing down, and I don’t know, maybe add subtitles there? English is not my first language so I’m quite used to subs and I would barely notice them, but for the people who are against them, maybe it wouldn’t bother them for that tiny bit.
Keep up the good work!

I just watched the movie yesterday and since I don’t have it too fresh I have to say that I got really into it and everything seemed to fit really well. Nitpicking I would say that it felt weird to hear a voice at the beginning (Bale’s one) while there was a text on screen saying something completely different and maybe even more important for the story. But other than that It’s a really good edit!

Dear sir,

First of all, I wanted to thank you for all the great work done. It is absolutely fantastic to see an initiative like this. It really shows a passion for our magical world.

I would kindly ask you for your extended versions, please. I hereby confirm that I purchased copies of all the saga both in DVD and Blu-Ray.

I also would like to ask you if you have them with English subtitles, as I am Spanish and I still cannot understand the full experience. If it is not available, it does not matter. I will try to make a bigger effort.

Thanking you again in advance,

A Harry Potter Groupie.

Send him a PM, he is not giving links for the people who ask in the comments. They do have subtitles.

I have watched a couple of them now and I’m half way through HBP and I have to say that this is great! Most of the added scenes helps to understand the movies and the characters motivations a little bit better, and for the big potterheads watching them inserted in the films with the proper music and fixes is awesome. Thank you so much for your work, and sorry for your loss. I hope to see you sail again soon and maybe some day see the complete scene of Harry and Big D.
