Anymore comparison screenshots? Really shows off the detail put into this. 😃
Just read through this thread, sounds like a very interesting edit! Looking forward to being able to watch it.
The attention to detail here is incredible.
Also, thanks Mistar Muffin for comparisons!
Both this and your PT project are very interesting, hope to see more soon!
I wonder if this is from a 35mm scan or a promotional image, considering how bad the Blu-ray looks
The difference is staggering.
I’m very curious about your edit, sounds like you may have fixed a number of issues I had with the film. I would be up for testing either the current version and/or the next one!
I think one of the big things I would want to have in an edit of the film would be to lose all of the Batman nightmare sequences. The movie would still be too dark and gloomy but I think that would help it flow considerably better.
The other things I never really noticed, but the skin tones always looked a little funny to me in SW, this looks great! Will fit in very nicely with the other despecialized editions. Very nice work.
This looks awesome! Really great work.
The official announcement that Episode 7 has started filming, including a teaser video and cast list.
And NO Harrison Ford. I don’t know why people still thought he was coming back just because Kennedy said that all the cast would be back when TFA came out. Of course she wasn’t going to say “they’re all coming back except for Harrison”. That would have given the game away about his death.
Two other interesting omissions in the announcement are Peter Mayhew and John Williams
Just got back from seeing it in IMAX 3D, still trying to digest. Though to start with, I didn’t really care for the 3D and the IMAX-format sequence ended up being pretty short, when I see it again next week it will be in 2D for sure. I feel like the 3D picture wasn’t as crisp and my theater’s 3D glasses were super uncomfortable.
But I liked the movie itself a lot. I feel like Abrams really did a great job of capturing the essence of what made the original film so good. Yes, it was pretty derivative of SW/ANH, but I think he’s created some really interesting characters that I look forward to spending some more time with.
One thing I thought was interesting whereas the prequels went overboard with excessive and dull exposition, this movie went the complete opposite direction. So much was left unexplained. I feel like I left the theater with more questions that I went in with. I’m not sure yet if thats a pro or a con for me.
The lightsaber fight at the end was pretty awesome. Not as flashy as the prequel fights, but they had that same feeling of tenseness of the fights in Empire and Jedi.
Even though Han’s death wasn’t surprising, I still found it very emotional. The moment in particular that was really moving for me was when Chewie yelled and shot Kylo in rage. Poor Chewie.
Also was that Coruscant that totally got blown away?
I think this movie sounds really rad, liking the look of it so far.
Interesting that they've changed it from 'Anthology' to the Star Wars Stories series.
So many neat little tweaks in the video that improved a lot. And just the overall quality of everything was really nice. Very impressed.
Nice detective work there Ady. Kind of too bad, I would dig seeing McGregor reprise his role as Obi-Wan in a 'Kenobi' movie.
Not sure how I feel about the news about them doing a Han Solo origin movie, unless they got a teenager for it. A twenty-something would be weird since Harrison was pretty young in the first movie himself.
Wonder what was going on in Ahsoka's head there at the end of the premiere. Great episode, solid start to the season. Seems like we probably won't see Vader again for a bit though.
Has anyone else seen this? Someone wrote a comic about the pilot who crashes into the super star destroyer. Its only eleven pages but its beautiful.
Watching that video gave me a better appreciation for how great the DeSpecialized is and all the effort thats gone into it. Thanks for all your hard work!
Your work with the colors is very nice! Are you planning on doing this for just this film or for all of them?
Just throwing it out there, but having Anakin return home and free his mother sometime during his teen years would be a pretty big change to canon.
But you've got some interesting ideas! Some screenshot comparisons would be cool to see some of the visual changes your doing.
Awesome trailer. They're still keeping it pretty vague, but thats JJ for you.
That last shot, so cool. I don't know if that could have actually been Meyhew though, in the panel he looked to be in pretty bad shape. Think he probably would only be able to do scenes where Chewie is sitting in the cockpit.
Surprised its taken them this long to put it out. But the audio and video of movies you get off of iTunes and Amazon and other services can't match the quality you get with a Blu-ray, so I don't go out for these much myself. But still, its no brainier for the studio. Shame its going to be the 2011 versions though.

Could be a cool feature for ANH.
Yeah, but it doesn't work very well for SW. ;)
I see what you did there!

I'd like to recognize a particularly helpful source I used for my edits, especially Episode III. If you've not checked out his book, I recommend it highly. The audio version is especially good.
That is a fascinating article. Every time I think about Episode III, I just get bummed because of its missed potential. It gets more things right than the other two prequels, but there's still many problems.
You'd think that he would have really made sure to nail Anakin's fall before doing any production at all.
That looks fantastic!
I've been looking forward to an update on this, looking good!
