Why should apple give up their architechture? The real bottleneck on x86 systems are the chipsets, not the actual P4 (which is a RISC/CISC hybrid). The G5 is supposed to be way superior. But IBM can't deliver. There are heat problems and they can't go over 3ghz. So it's a good choice, since IBM has now more "important" customers as sony (ps3), microsoft (xbox 360) and nintendo (revolution).
The real fun will be 2005, when there is MacOSX 10.5 vs. Windows Longhorn.

I WAS DISGUSTED AT THE THOUGHT OF HAVING AN intel CHIP IN AN APPLE COMPUTER, BUT STEVE JOBS HAS SECRETLY BEEN TESTING THIS OUT FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS. I TRUST THE GUY. IF HE SAYS IT WILL MAKE FOR AN EVEN BETTER MAC THEN I'M GAME.

I JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON WHAT I DO. I'M IN THE MOVIE/ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS. THE INFORMATION THAT I GET IS OFFICIAL. I DO NOT POST FALSE INFORMATION ON HERE. I DO POST SPECULATIONS ON MY PART, AND WHEN I DO THAT I LET EVERYBODY KNOW THAT IT IS PURELY SPECULATION. WHAT I POSTED BEFORE WAS NOT SPECULATION.

BTW, X-BOX WILL NOT BE RUNNING HD-DVD OR BLU-RAY ON THE X-BOX 360*. I'LL HAVE MORE INFORMATION ON THAT IN THE "PSYCHO INSIDER."

IT COMES IN RIGHT AT 50 MINUTES LONG. THE MUSIC WAS FANTASTIC. YES, THE ACTING WAS POOR, BUT I FIND IT TO BE FORGIVABLE. LET'S NOT FORGET THAT THIS WASN'T A BIG MAJOR STUDIO MOVIE. THIS WAS A GUY WITH HIS OWN $20K MAKING A FAN FILM. THE SFX WERE PRETTY DECENT. I REALLY LIKED THE SHIPYARD CHASE. THE LIGHTSABERS WERE A LITTLE TO BRIGHT. I ALSO DIDN'T LIKE THE USE OF NON-TRADITIONAL LIGHTSABER COLORS. IT IS WORTH WATCHING THOUGH. G4 HAS SHANE FELUXE (DIRECTOR/PRODUCER/ETC.) ON LAST WEEK WHICH IS HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT IT. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT FOR FREE. YOU CAN EVEN DOWNLOAD THE SOUNDTRACK.


RIGHT NOW SHANE HAS ONLY MADE A FEW COPIES ON DVD WHICH ARE VERY SOUGHT AFTER. MY VERY GOOD FRIEND JUDY AND I HAVE MADE OWN OWN DVD FOR STAR WARS REVELATIONS. IT'S PRETTY BASIC RIGHT NOW. IT ONLY HAS A MAIN MENU WHICH HAS THE POSTER ART, MUSIC FROM THE MOVIE, AND A 1 MINUTE 50 SECOND CLIP FROM THE INTRO OF THE FILM AS THE PLAY BUTTON. YES, IT IS IN WIDESCREEN LIKE IT WAS ORIGINALLY FILM. I WILL HAVE A NEW DELUXE DVD VERSION PUT TOGETHER NEXT WEEK THAT WILL HAVE SOME SPECIAL FEATURES ON IT. TTHE FEATURES WILL INCLUDE BOTH THE TEASER AND FULL TRAILER, BEHIND THE SCENES FOOTAGE, AND FEW OTHER THINGS ON IT.

OKAY, HERE'S SOME "OFFICIAL" NEWS ON THE 6-DISC SET. IT WON'T COME OUT UNTIL SOMETIME IN 2006. ON THE FLIP SIDE THE ROTS DVD WILL STREET IN NOVEMBER. HOWEVER, MY SOURCES HAVE INDICATED THAT IT MAY EVEN STREET EARLIER THAN THAT. MOST OF MY SOURCES NOW ARE TELLING ME THAT THE ROTS DVD WILL STREET IN OCTOBER, 2005. I'M STIL BETTING THAT IT WILL BE IN NOVEMBER. THE CLONE WARS VOL. 2 DVD SHOULD COME OUT AROUND THE SAME TIME. EXPECT THE 6-DISC SET TO COME OUT TOWARDS THE END OF 2006 AFTER THE HD-DVD/BLU-RAY FORMAT WAR HAS SETTLED DOWN A BIT.

I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE, JAY. I HAVE ALL OF kevin smith's MOVIES, BUT I RARELY WATCH ANY OF THEM NOW UNLESS MY WIFE WNTS TO WATCH CHASING AMY WHICH IS THE ONLY ONE SHE EVEN LIKES.

YET MORE NEWS FOR HD-DVD...

HYBRID DVD/HD-DVDs WILL HIT THE MARKET PLACE VERY SOON. YOU WILL HAVE STANDARD DVD ON ONE SIDE OF THE DISC WITH HD-DVD ON THE OTHER. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY HAS DONE A SIMILAR THING WHERE THEY HAVE TAKEN A DISC AND PUT STANDARD MUSIC C.D. ON ONE SIDE WITH A DVD ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DISC. ONE EXAMPLE OF THAT IS THE LATEST NINE INCH NAILS C.D. THE DVD ASSOCIATION IS HOPING THAT THIS WILL HELP PEOPLE CONVERT TO HD-DVD.

Doubtful. Nintendo has long maintained the idea that they make gaming systems, not multimedia systems. They'll probably go with another proprietary format, just as they did with the GameCube.


THE NINTENDO REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE ADAPTING THE "NEW" DISC FORMATS NOR WILL THE X-BOX 360*. MY MAC MINI IS ALREADY HD-DVD READY, BUT FUTURE APPLE COMPUTERS WILL BE SET UP WITH BLU-RAY ALSO.

I'M NOT REALLY HATING ANYTHING RIGHT NOW EXCEPT FOR MY DAMN VAN THAT CAUGHT ON FIRE AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN IT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. DID I PULL OVER ??? FUCK NO !!! I JUST KEPT DRIVING MY HELL ON WHEELS THE REST OF THE WAY TO WORK. UPON MY ARRIVAL I PUT OUT THE FLAMES ANDCLOCKED IN FOR WORK. SURE MY CLOTHES SMELLED LIKE ASH, BUT I WASN'T GOING TO LET SOMETHING AS TRIVIAL AS MY VAN CHATCHING ON FIRE STOP ME.
