^ Love that - looks very iconic and effective in it’s simplicity - something which would sit proudly on a shelf or display with other dvds, blu rays and collections etc.

Plus, with the border surrounding the actual image… anyone could quite easily adapt it for use with their own particular appealing/favourite piece of artwork.

Hope you do another couple more covers for the other parts of the Trilogy 😉

Sweet work, Oswarez 💥 👍

^ very cool ! is the drawing by Oswarez ? it looks like a Tom Jung poster concept that I remember seeing somewhere .Either way , it’s a very good package design and layout !

No this is an old concept poster. Thanks for the props guys.

So am I to understand there will be a Swedish overdubbed audio option?

Sorry, it’s English audio with Swedish subtitles.  Interestingly, Chewbacca’s name appears to be “Tugg”.  Hmm, now might be a good time to ask the question that the subtitles left me with — what’s a “misslycat”?

Tugg means chewing in Swedish. It’s the same with the original Icelandic translation as well. Chewbacca was originally named Tobaks Tugga which translates to tobacco chew. Later on he was renamed Loðinn which just means hairy.

Star Wars Holiday Special - Zion Hybrid v2 (Released)
Time

I too made my own Special Edition of the Holiday Special.
I used the “Broadcast Master” copy that’s out there and blew it up to 720p.
I gathered a few extras for the disc as well, a commentary track that I found by the B-Movie podcast as well as various clips of the cast and crew discussing making the thing as well as the commercials and the CBS promo.

When I figure out how to upload the ISO up to trackers I’ll do it.

Info Wanted: THE KEEP? any 35mm preservations?
Time

Seeing how many preservation projects that are going on here from 35mm prints, films that are easily available in HD, isn’t anyone doing a 35mm preservation of The Keep? I’d be all over that and I know that there is a pretty rabid following for that particular film especially since an official HD release is slim to none.

Are prints of it especially hard to come by?

Audio issue with 4K83
Time

Hey.
So I got the full 4K version of the package and I wanted to down convert it to regular Blu. I had allot of problems converting it, TSMuxer couldn’t handle it, Adobe Media Encoder couldn’t handle it (something about the file not having a set frame rate) but DVDFab had no problem crushing it down to manageable size and format.
So now I have the film in .m2ts format that I can Demux but for some reason the video and audio are not the same length. This is probably due to the afore mentioned frame rate issues but weird none the less ( the basic film only blu I burned from the DVDFab ISO plays and syncs fine).

So I wanted to know how can I either change the frame rate on the film to match the audio? A more simple question is; what is the frame rate of the audio?

My Blu ray trilogy covers
Time

I made these based on the original CBS/FOX VHS covers and copied them exactly. I made the original one for the Silver screen edition and then I made the rest hoping to complete the collection one of these days.

The Original Trilogy restored from 35mm prints (a WIP)
Time

Wow. Just learned about this project a few minutes ago. Really exciting stuff. Empire looks incredible. I just made myself a Blu Ray copy of the Grindhouse V2 and it looks off, way too much grain clean up, and unnatural/digital looking color correction. I’m a stickler for authenticity and want it as pure as can be.

I adore the way the Silver Screen version looks and this looks to be on par with that. Amazing work and I look forward to hopefully enjoy them in the future.

Done with the label!! It’s meant to go with the Disney releases that way you can display it nicely with the last Jedi 4K Blu Ray. I will work on a slipcover and a disc label next.
Tell me what you think!
{Btw, you are totally free to use that as the official artwork 😉}

I would have the text over the image of Darth and Ben fighting white instead of black with yellow outline and the text in the box below only black. It’s too busy now and hard to read.

team negative1 - star wars 1977 - 35mm theatrical version (Released)
Time

Yeah, The last one I tried on the lowest setting got to 90% before the process froze.
I’m going to order some Verbatim discs to see if that works.

Did you try burning at the slowest speed that your burner would allow? That may help. I burned the SSE 1.6 last night at 2X (the lowest on my burner) and the disc seems to be fine.

team negative1 - star wars 1977 - 35mm theatrical version (Released)

I bought a burner and a 10 pack of Dual layer BDs specifically for burning this file but 6 of these discs have become over priced coasters because of crappy programs that don’t seem to handle the size, or these discs are pieces of shit. So I might have to buy a few proper brand discs to see if it will work.
I thought this would be a breeze but it turned out to be anything but.

Thanks for confirming that. Is that cleaned up track available anywhere for remuxing into the SSE? Planning to watch this soon and wanted to make sure I had the best audio option. If it’s too much of a bother, please don’t worry about it.

I just downloaded v1.6 and it’s a 39gig ISO file. The file name is “Star Wars 1977 TN1 v1.6 BR” This obviously won’t rip to a BR, unless I don’t know something. Anybody got any tips/hints?

Like has been said a dual layer 50gb bd-r is the way to go. Make sure to use a decent branded one like sony or Panasonic and burn at the lowest speed possible your drive will allow. Thats option one.

Alternatively you can go with option two like I have. Being too tight to buy 50gb bds I used daemon tools to mount the iso image and then you can use either BdRebuilder or Bdtoavchd ( google these ) to shrink the iso down to the size of a standard 25gb bd-r.

Some here might say 50gb is the only option they would trust but I cant see any quality issues with my 25gb disc even though it’s a shrinking in size of 35% it still looks incredible to me.

Need help writing the Silver Screen edition on a DL Blu Ray.
Time

I bought a blu ray writer and a box of ten DL blu rays specifically to write the Silver Screen edition on to disc. I’m using a brand spanking new iMac and Toast 11 with the blu plug in. So far I’ve done nothing more than make five very expensive coasters.
I’ve tried to write the ISO file I downloaded and when that didn’t work I tried making an image file through Toast but that didn’t work for shit. I always get the “unstable connection” error message and I’ve tried turning every program off and even turning off sleep mode so nothing interferes with it.
So now I’m stopping until I find a fool proof way of writing this damn file on to disc. Is there another program I should use instead? Are my discs crap (they are MediaRange BD-R DL)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Holiday Special TV guide ad?
Time

Thanks.
These are the copies I’ve been working with. I was hoping to find one on Heritage Auctions but there was nothing there.
I’ve been thinking of making a color version by cutting together stills but the one of Han Solo is very elusive, I’m a stickler for things being exactly like they should be so I have been scouring the internet looking for that particular still.

Holiday Special TV guide ad?
Time

Hey.
First time poster.
I’ve been working on a DVD cover for The Holiday Special for some time but have never been able to score a proper size res copy of the original TV Guide ad. I’ve tried to work with stuff I’ve found online but the quality isn’t as good as I want it to be.
So I either have to get a high res scan of the ad or try to recreate it from stills.
Does anyone have a copy of this ad?
