Unfortunately, they changed their minds. Read this article below. Spielberg says he was going to, but decided on CGI instead. I would of liked to have seen less CGI. Too bad...
Before you bash Lucas too much, remember that Speilberg also has a role in this. And many of his recent films have been less than stellar. But I think what others said is right, its a fair film, its just that by the 4th film, the idea is worn out. I still want to see this film however.
I have very low expectations for this game, so I'm not too excited. I don't see it being a great game, but I do see it screwing up continuity. Oh, well. They are pushing it too hard, and I don't see that as being a good sign.
Today the Indiana Jones DVDs were re-released, each seperately, like the GOUT. Has anyone gotten these yet and are the new special features worthwhile?
For the most part, not many people have been banned here. Besides AWK, who deserved banning for many reasons, only a few others who sold fan edits have been banned. There have been a few other trolls banned, but not too many.
I think that the problem I had with this film, that I'm not sure can be fixed with an edit, goes beyond the vampire-looking Remans or B-4. To me, this film is effectively a re-make of Wrath of Khan with TNG cast. I wish there was a way that it could have a unique plot. The final battle was mostly a redo of the final battle in ST2. I think that some of this stuff should be looked at. I don't think you could eliminate the secret weapon that the Romulans had, (don't remember what it was called) but make it less "genesis device" like. I don't know if this is really possible, though.
Having said that, I think that at least getting rid of all the yellow eyes of the Reman would make them better, at least slightly less "Space Vampire" looking. Maybe grey or black? Don't know if you can do this, though.
The difference between the Star Wars Trilogy and Indiana Jones Trilogy of the 80's and the new movies are that fans have been waiting for this movie for years and years. Yes, looking back on it, Star Wars Ep. I really wasn't that great. But people had been waiting for that film forever, and by the time it was actually close to coming out, people were in a frenzy for it. I think that even if Ep. I had been on par with ESB, I think people would of been dissapointed, because after all these years and all the talk about it, everyone's expectations were sky-high, and unrealistic. Its similar to comic book movies, where fanboys gripe that their favorite villian, minor character, or scenario didn't make the film, and so it sucked.
I can see the same thing happening with Indiana Jones. I don't think its a "blame it on the fans if it sucks", but just a "go into the film with realistic expectations"
To hear him talk, you'd think George Lucas would have preferred to call his movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Don't Get Your Hopes Up.
I sort of hate to admit it, but Lucas has a point here. When Episode I came out, everyone's expectations of it was so high, no movie ever made could of fulfilled it. Lucas tried then to bring expecations down to a realistic level, but it never worked. So I think he's trying to prevent fanboys, etc from going into the movie expecting the greatest film ever made.
I didn't find any ads for the gremlins games in my classic game collection, but if you don't already know, go to www.atariage.com and look at the sections for the Atari 2600 and Atari 5200 for the Gremlins games for those two systems. They are quite different, and they have pictures of the cartridges, box, and manuals, as well as screenshots and the ROMs. (or at least they used to when I last looked a long time ago). I don't know if you can use any of that stuff, but I thought I'd point it out.
Wow, that cover is so smooth I feel like throwing together a preservation DVD with dual audio tracks including both the original and the MST3K audio.
I've wanted to do the same thing with Radar Men from the Moon, a serial that had the first 5 or 6 chapters on MST3K. Maybe someday, I'll give it a shot.
My personal take on Nemesis is that it was basically a re-write of Wrath of Khan. Couldn't we of had something original for this?
As for continuity of ST, while I didn't follow it all closely, didn't Enterprise wreck quite a few things, such as bringing in Romulans when they were supposed to have not been heard from during this time? I know that I've heard many Star Trek fans blast Enterprise for this reason, among many others.
I don't see this as going over too well. I think you'll have too much baggage from the last Hulk movie, and most people will think that this is a sequel or related to it, and it isn't remembered too fondly. If they were going to do another Hulk movie, they should of waited longer, for people to forget the last one. Even if Iron Man is a huge success, I don't think it will help this film.
You may be thinking of Dr M's version, which uses the recent special edition visuals, but replaces the audio with the original mix, and restores the priest's knee.
Lucasarts used to make great games. Tie Fighter/X-Wing was great. Another one that was good was "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" I still enjoy that game.
I just downloaded Adywan's Ep.4, and saw the trailer for this on there. I'm only sorry that it won't come out soon, but Adywan deserves a break after what he did for Ep. 4. Good luck on this and I'm looking forward to it!.
Didn't someone already do a Theatrial version of Little Mermaid? I could be wrong, but I thought so. I'll have to go through my DVD collection and see.

This is when I expect a BR release. If I'm right, then yes, this is another lame LFL cash grab.
I don't know about this. I remember that everyone on here was expecting a Star Wars Mega-super-special 30th anniversary release this year or a "Saga edition" that would be released when ROTS came out on DVD, and we got nothing. For some reason, Lucasfilm seems to be really stingy with their special features. Which is part of the reason why we have been able to get so many preservations here. I'm not expecting a Blu-Ray Indiana Jones anytime soon, knowing Lucasfilms track record. DVD was well-established for several years before either Star Wars or Indiana Jones got released.
I wish I had a copy of it, but I don't. But I remember a commercial during the time of Gremlins 2 that was for some hotel, I don't even remember which one, that had Brain Gremlin telling about the hotel. He was standing in a suitcase, and I remember that this hotel chain did a series of commercials with various celeberties standing in a suitcase on a bed as well. Hopefully someone might have this so it could be included.
I don't remember if they were on the DVD or not, but I remember that the theatrical version of Gremlins 2 had a scene where the Gremlins broke the film in the theatre and Hulk Hogan stopped them. The home video version had a sillier scene involving your VCR breaking. Another idea of something to include.
I could be wrong, but I think I have a copy of an ad for the Gremlins video game for the Atari 2600 I could send. I'll have to go back and look in my collection.
Great project for two great films and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I've never seen this poster before. Is it official, or something fan-made?
