Last movie seen

More serious reply. It’s kinda cool you watched the “bad sequel” first. I love/hate this movie. There’s some great set pieces and story bits, like the fact that Snake is given a set of tools in Act 1 and we actually see him use everything. Screenwriting 101 done beautifully. When he uses the match to light an illegal cigarette and walks away like a boss, I cheered.

I’ll be curious if you find …New York to be boring, because then you’ll see that …LA is a beat for beat remake.

Yhwx, can you please make an index post/thread that lists and links to every gif in this thread, with a simple explanation for each. Thank you in advance.

October Horror Movie Challenge
Time

Another popular Letterbox’d challenge is called Hoop-tober. Watch a bunch of different horror flicks, various franchise entries, foreign films, etc. Named after director Tobe Hooper (obviously, duh), this has been maybe the most popular Letterbox’d annual event.

If you didn’t click my link, here’s a small sample of what I’ll watch, in addition to the films I listed earlier in the thread.

Amityville II: The Possession (1982)
Phantasm II (1988)
Pumpkinhead 2 (1994)
Return of the Living Dead II (1988)
The Omen III (1981)
Ghoulies (1984)
Kill Baby Kill (1966)
The Ice Cream Man (1995)
The Gate (1987)
Diabolique (1955)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957)
Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages (1922)
The Mangler (1995)

*shakes head at the lack of any Universal classic horror movies*

I’m gonna watch four classic Universal Monsters films. The Invisible Man, The Mummy, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man and The Old Dark House.

The Drunk Thread (was: The Durnk Thread)

You never know. I worked at Safeway and was busted for being stoned on the job (I also regularly got drunk during my shifts but never caught for that). I was given two options by the manager, either quit voluntarily or go to rehab on their dime and get my job back (but you know, I’d be indebted to them). I chose to quit and I regret that.

Of course, Walmart is a different company I’m not personally familiar with and from what I’ve read I doubt they’d give an employee that second choice. Plus I was union.

Anyway, try not to drink yourself to death just yet. Try to live at least as long as John Bonham.

But seriously bro… I’m both jealous of how durnk you got, and worried about how hard you’re going to hit rock bottom.

Are you union? (I doubt it because you’re management.) Would your insurance cover a legit rehab program? Cuz pretty much at this point you won’t be able to stop drinking unless you’re in a 30 day lock-down program or you’re dead. Don’t take this as me being preachy, I’m just one alcoholic telling another alcoholic the straight dope.
