So I think it would be fair to ask, what is everyone's favorite story, in either book or movie form, just to generate discussion?
Hmm. I almost want to say that each book is successively better than the last. As for favorite, I'd say Goblet of Fire. It's a damn near perfect "middle-of-the-road" Book Four of Seven.
Potter books are good times. Enjoy!
First film I watched this year was the glorious "Men At Work" written by, directed by and starring Emilio Estevez. Why watch on New Year's Day? I don't know, the first time I saw it as a teenager was on TBS on New Year's Day, so I figure maybe make a tradition out of it.
Over the last week I binge-watched Seasons 1 & 2 of "Bates Motel". Awesome show. I don't know what show I'll watch next, maybe I'll finally start watching "Justified" or I'll give "Deadwood" a second shot.

I think King just isn't very good at endings.
THIS. Many times his endings are rushed. He spends so much time building things up then he gets to the end and is like "fuck it, they follow a magical bee through the dangerous labyrinth and defeat the evil entity. The End."

If I did that, the internet would explode.

My review:
I have isolated the three fatal flaws of The Hobbit trilogy:
1. Too much content, not enough substance (Empty Carbs)
2. Too reliant on CGI because it's easier (George Lucas Syndrome)
3. No Boobs ( . ) ( . )
I've never liked Avid4D. He's pretentious and seems like a natural fit at DFE.
This looks great! If you upload it, please send me the links. I'm a huge Clue fan.

Boo-urns. I get it, the rules don't apply to you, you're holier than all.
Without going too far off topic (whatever, this is in Off Topic anyways....)
Sometimes people just get offended by words because of all the bullshit baggage for them that comes with those words. A couple examples. A few years ago I made a random Facebook status, "Sometimes I wish I were a Jew." I thought it was funny and often I wonder what my life would have been like had my parents been Jewish, as opposed to Scientologists. One of my FB friends, who was Jewish, got offended mainly just for using "Jew" like I did. There was nothing I could do to explain myself, she was pissed I said Jew.
The next one's pretty bad. I was talking with my buddy and her girlfriend, she's half-black-half-Jewish. She swears like a sailor and we always make jokes about everything. Anyway one time she was talking about slavery and how the Jewish people were slaves long before Africans. I said, "So I guess you could say, the Jews were the original n**gers." I don't know why I said it, it just popped out. I didn't even mean it as a joke, it was a comparison, but I used the shock word. Boy, she was not happy with that. I apologized like a madman and ruminated on it, and I realized there's thresholds you just can't cross.
Of course, you're usage was far far far far far less than what I said, but shit, people get offended sometimes for what one may perceive as a small thing.
TL;DR - White people are racist.
I'm sure you've gotten offended over a word before, and others didn't think it was such a big deal. I remember recently Gatos used the term "no homo" and you were so offended you edited his post.
Oh. Alright then.
(Starts walking, pauses and turns back to the Bridgekeeper.)
I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?
I learned the art of TR 0.
(Psst... I think the Bridgekeeper's had a stroke. He yelled S T O P and has been staring at me blankly for a day and a half.)
I seek the 11-fingered man that killed my father, and prepare him for death.
My name is Inigo Montoya.
Ask me the questions, Bridgekeeper! I am not afraid.
Oh cool, what's this bridge thingy and where does it go?
I hart this tread.
Trippy video!
