Return of the Jedi: The Destiny Edition v1.0 | Theatrical Reconstruction in 4K (Released)
Time

I too am getting quite a number of invitation code requests from brand new users. If you are a first time user on these forums and have zero past history of investing into this community, you will not be given an invite code, and your PM will be ignored. No exceptions.

We are not members of this forum to see how much we can take for ourselves; we are here for what we can give back to the community and to each other and to make friends along the way. If all you want is a code to get “access” to something you want without investing the time to contribute and engage with this community, that isn’t fair to those of us who HAVE taken the time to do that.

I hate to be so hard-liner about this, but that is the way this community rolls.

I found a compression glitch (minute 00.20:34)on the 4K version

It would be nice if it’s corrected in the future, this is probably one of the best 4K preservations of the original film I’ve ever seen, My favorite after the 4K83 project.

Hostmaster, I’m not seeing the compression glitch in either my copy of the 1080p or 2160p versions. Might it be an issue with your software you’re viewing it on? Try MPV player, it works great.

AWESOME! That is what we call in the prop community a Graflex 3 cell Folmer. Only the Folmers had the “New York” stamping on the bottom of the flashgun all the later models had “N.Y.” A very special prop right there gentlemen, just revealed by Poita!

This is what it looked like before the D-ring and Kobold installation: https://bit.ly/2PkPT7c

This is what it looked like before grips and clamp card were installed: https://bit.ly/2MDKISV

Cheers, Poita!

Oh, my gosh that’s an unbelievable result, Poita! Out of curiosity, would you be able to do a quick grain management and clean-up on frame 14988 of the lightsaber in the snow? Have always wanted to see what details on the hilt are laying behind the grain/dirt. Thanks!

4k77 - shot by shot color grading (a WIP)

Here’s the thing with white though, it reflects other colors. Stormtroopers are only white in white light, and if the light reflected back at them from walls and such is white. If I put a stormtrooper in a room with green walls, the stormtrooper will be green(ish). In the case of Tantive IV, the walls are slightly bluish green, there’s red light coming from the walls, and the lighting is yellowish, so the stormtroopers won’t be white ever. They will be more yellowish, if they are directly under a light, they will be more pink if they are standing near one of the wall lights, and they will be more bluish green everywhere else.

While I dislike the result those variables cause, I understand what you’re saying. 😃

The walls weren’t white, so how are they supposed to look a true white on set?

Dre, we all know stormtrooper armor is pure white. In the YouTube link, one can see the walls are not perfectly white and neither are the stormtroopers—they look the same. It seems to follow then that if one were standing in person on set that both the stormtroopers and the walls would have been a truer white than what is portrayed in the YouTube video and stormtrooper production photo. That being said, I would say your color grading is not as extreme as these examples (which is a good thing). 😃
