***Citizen's NTSC DVD/PAL DVD/XviD Info and Feedback Thread***
Time
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the NTSC DL transfer after finally burning to DL media and watching on my CRT set. I have to say that this is, IMHO, the best transfer to date (and I have ALL of them). So, bravo to you, Citizen! Also, a big shout out to segaflip for getting it to us.

The only thing that I feel could be improved is from an authoring standpoint. The text buttons on the extras menu are partially outside of the title safe area (along with your avatar and text on the main menu). The text buttons on the right are cropped. I know, it's from the overscan. But this really should be considered in the creation phase of menus. It's just good authoring etiquette. I've had to redo menus of mine before due to making this same mistake. The menu will look great in Photoshop and then when I build the menu in DVD Studio Pro, the title safe overlay lets me know that it won't work . Obviously, on a computer or a projector this isn't an issue. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to have a nice DLP projector (including me). I believe the majority of people watching this will be watching on old-fashioned TV's, although I could be wrong.

This is intended as constructive criticism and I hope this issue will be taken in to consideration for the creation of the menus for ESB and ROTJ Once again, GREAT JOB!!!

I've been curious about the layer break issue myself. I'm on OS X and have burned many football (american) games on to DL media using Toast. I build the VIDEO_TS folder from DVD Studio Pro and then let Toast auto set the layer break point. This has always worked fine for me. There seems to be no option in Toast for setting the layer break point yourself like in DVDDecrypter on Windows. So it sounds like the layer break point is embedded in Citizen's authored VIDEO_TS, is this right? And Nero or Toast or whatever reads that? If so, then I can go ahead and burn it on my mac at home keeping the correct break point instead of having to take a hard drive to work and burning it there?

The "EditDroid" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time
I've finally been going through and getting segaflip's ng posts off my hard drive and on to dvd's, I can barely keep up! I couldn't find any disc art for the EditDroid Mono disc so I made one myself. It's not great but I tried to match the feel of the main menu image. The colors aren't exactly matched, as I don't have the exact poster version that is used on the disc. But it's close enough for me. The ANH Mono disc will go in an Amaray 4-in-1 case along with the later EditDroid ANH and Rowman's EditDroid inspired extras. If anyone wants it, here you go...

DJ
also Gundrosen made me a real nice inksaver cover for my International(criterion)cut widescreen and fullscreen 2 disc set, with disc labels also.
(but i didnt release my fullscreen version,so far i kept that to myself)

I have your version that segaflip released on absw not that long ago. Should I try to track down a copy of Jedi/Feta instead? Is it better? I haven't really been looking for other versions, I just dl whatever segaflip puts up (which is a lot BTW). I'd love to have ANY quality cover and disc art

McQuarrie Art @ Megaupload...

Those are great! I just wish they weren't cropped on the sides. I understand why they are, considering the source. Does anyone have a good collection of hi-res(ish) non-cropped McQuarrie I could get a hold of? PM me. TIA!

Here you go, segaflip. Some pics of a disc from my R200 before and after spraying it with Krylon #1305 UV-Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating. See earlier in this thread for my step by step instructions. Verbatim hub printable media used. The off angle shots show how the matte surface can change how different color inks display. With the gloss coating, everything is uniform from every angle. Also, you can see how much more the colors "pop"...

So, is there a place where I can find a "Star Wars Rarities" DVDs torrents?
Thanks!

I don't know about a torrent, but I grabbed Rarities II from a.b.sw a while back. It's not showing up on Giganews currently, but if you post a request there, I'm sure someone would post. Maybe segaflip? I still need vol. 1 and 3.

Anyone could upload it (myspleen or demonoid) in .iso format, or just a VIDEO_TS folder? It could be great!

You can use Toast to burn the cdi file. In Toast 6 Titanium select the "Copy" tab. In the options slide out tab on the left select Image File. Toast will probably give you some sort of message saying that it's not a supported format or something once you select the cdi file. This is OK. Once you've selected the cdi, click the "Mount" button. This will mount the image file as a local volume. You should be able to find a VIDEO_TS folder in there. You can copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your HD or you can just use Toast to burn your DVD from the VIDEO_TS folder. You do this by using the "Video" tab using the "DVD-Video from VIDEO_TS" option.

Always happy to help out a fellow Mac user!

This "mystery spray", as I stated this earlier in this thread, is Krylon #1305 UV-Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating - Gloss. It comes in an 11 oz. aerosol spray can. It's around $5 a can. I can spray around 50 discs with 1 can. I buy it at Michael's (art supplies chain). The non-UV version is #1303. Once you get the technique down, your R200/300 printed discs look as good as anything Hollywood puts out... Isn't that what we're all after? PM me with any questions.

Segaflip, you made me break down and learn usenet! Thanks for all the postings. I got an unlimited account at giganews and am happily using Unison on OS X. Everything works perfectly and I average 550 KB/sec downloads, about 10 times faster than an average torrent for me! I downloaded the EpIV extras in 2.5 hours. If anyone thinks usenet is too hard, it's not and is totally worth it. Just get a premium account and don't even think about using your ISP's servers.

The Cowclops Transfers (a.k.a. the PCM audio DVD's, Row47 set) Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time
Just read on myspleen that Rik had a private viewing of cowclops2 ESB and the demo disc with other OT fans. They rated 7 transfers and cowclops2 came in #6, as in next to last, ahead of only the quality broth set. This seems hard to believe after months of reading this thread and looking forward to this set. I don't have the discs yet. Any comments, concerns?
