I really hope they do show all the films in the cinemas again, I missed it with the release of the third movie, for younger guys like me its going to be the last chance we ever get to see the original trilogy (or whats left of it anyway) on the big screen, sure I could watch it on a big ass projector with surround sound, but its just not the same dammit!

I for one will be buying the 2007 release of the movies, the main reason I want them is for deleted scenes and bloopers (not that i know there's gonna be any) from the original movies, sure there are sources where you can see this footage, but Id rather own it on genuine dvd's then anything else.

Info Wanted: Original Trilogy VHS box set - HELP
Time
Hmm I diddnt mean for the images to be that big either :-s

The actual tape itself for empire is the same as the other two, which is all that matters at the end of the day, I have sort of an OCD though hehe I like things to be 'proper'.

My search for the ultimate starwars collection continues, if only I had more money to spend on things like this...

Info Wanted: Original Trilogy VHS box set - HELP
Time

To the point, I have the original trilogy in a boxed set and I think it may be from the first time the OT was released in a set (if that maoes sense) The individual films are copyrighted 1977, but im not to good with my history 😒

There is something wrong with the box, the list of films is in the wrong order, it goes STARWARS, THE RETURN OF THE JEDI, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and also the sleeve for the empire video doesnt match the other two, but im guessing somewhere along the history of these tapes the original sleeve was damaged and someone replaced it with this one which is from a ‘CBS FOX ALL TIME GREATS’ collection.

Anyway if anyone wants to take a look at these images and tell me their thoughts on how old this is, feel free.

Cheers, Mike.

I made a quick msn group and stuck the images in there, apologies for the quality, they were taken on the worlds worst digi camera lol.

Who's that directed at?

Theres more then likeley going to be a 1 - 6 box set, ive never heard of it being called the archivel relase but thats not the point, its going to happen, if it happens next year or in ten years its inevitable, ten years after its released theyll probly bring out an anniversary edition, its how these people make money i mean think about it, they've allready released the special edition dvd's TWICE - exactly the same films just put in a different box (also when the special edition videos first came out all those years ago they advertised it as 'the last time starwars would be released' but this was before the days of DVD)
And yes, with dvd releases there usually comes merchandise (as the great yogurt from Spaceballs says; its where the real money from the movie is made hehe)

Kev you demand proof from adam backing up what hes said, cant the guy just have an opinion?

I actually prefer the DVDs and can't wait for more edits, seriously.
Time
After reading all this I have to say I'm amazed, Ive never really heard anyones opinion actually mean anything when their talking about how they like the new edits more, most people i know say 'the graphics are better, the sound is better its just better' but then again these are the sort of people who dont own a single genuine dvd because they dont see the point when they can pick up a copied version cheaper (so far i have 200+ dvd's on my shelf, every single one is a genuine copy and Im proud of that)

Marioxb you are the first and maybe the last person to explain how you like the special editions more and validate all your points that I havnt felt like slapping, so for that, I award you a million points and a large plate of jelly, enjoy :-D

One question though, do you fully understand what Haydens doing there at the end of Jedi, because Ive heard a few reasons and they diddnt seem to make much sense, I was just wondering what your thoughts were?
Also do you (or anyone else for that matter) know if theres truth in the rumor that george lucas diddnt ask or tell Hayden Christensen that he was putting him in scene, and he just used footage from his screen test to do it?

Help Wanted: looking for... ! Rikter !
Time

Firstly I’d just like to say hi to everyone, Im new to this site, suprisingly, Im a huge fan of starwars yet ive never been here before,
Im really suportive of your cause and have gotten a few people to sign the pettition, it’d be a dream come true if that worked out.

Anyway the reason I came here in the first place, I was on the IMDB lopoking for info on a dvd version of the holliday special.
I have a copy but its a rather poor quality one, I know that there is no perfect copy or ‘genuine’ version, however a guy called Adam_wan_kenobi recomended that I come here and ask for Rikter, and I quote " I promise you, he has the best quality available"

So Rikter if you read this please give me an email @ coffeehouse_propaganda AT hotmail DOT co DOT uk or pm me or whatever so we can work something out,

Thanks Much,

Mike.

P.s, sorry for posting this under ‘starwars discussion’ its probly not the right forum for it, but I diddnt know where else to put it
