Dude, I LOVE Mothman Prophecies! That movie rocks in so many different ways. The music (especially the final song), the effects, the acting. I can watch this from beginning to end over and over again.

I made a copy from a friend who had the DVD. I should have it somewhere.

I also remade it with the original Bad Boys song, to replace the remixed version that sounds like crap.

Perhaps you are going between 24 and 30 fps? (Just a thought)

I thought it was a leeeettle cheesy, but I like it overall. Curry certainly kicked ass in that film.

(I still remember the scene in the library, when no one else sees the balloons. Despite this, some of the people blink when they pop.

)

BTW, I recently saw Darkness. Odd story, but DAMN, was it spooky. I read a review saying it was a great exercise in building suspense, and I have to agree wholeheartedly. Few films have made my skin crawl like this one did. It's amazing how scary the film is without falling back on "stuff jumping up in your face", as most films tend to rely on now.

Well, whatever speed it was playing at, it was definitely faster. Again, since I don't have a Betamax unit for comparison, I couldn't say how much faster.

Since TPM, the only movies I've seen in the theater was Finding Nemo and ROTS, both for my children's sake. My wife and I, being big Firefly fans, are going to see Serenity in the theater tomorrow. It's my daughter's birthday, and my wife has bible study, but we're going to squeeze it in.

You would be able to hear the audio. I recently found this out by playing a PAL tape that a friend's had made for them in Europe decades ago. The 4% pitch increase is unmistakable. Of course, I don't know how distorted it would sound compared to the output of a regular PAL player, but it seemed okay to me.

That sucks. I had an ANH Faces LD break in shipping as well.

What's goofy? It's perfect math. PAL is 4% faster. If you look at 100 minutes as 100%, then the 104 min/percent increase makes perfect sense.
