"Why does ObiWan call him Darth Vader in Episode IV, and when he called him Anakin throughout the Duel in Episode III, when he was clearly Darth Vader by then?"
Because he didn't realize how truly far gone Anakin was at that point.
Other than that, I can understand the sentiment of these. Sure, it's really easy to go on a message board and discuss these issues ad nauseum until someone makes sense of them (either through screenplays, interviews, or EU), but on their own, there's a lot of information that just falls through cracks to the casual viewer (i.e. kids.)
I'm not going to force my kids to watch it one way or another - although, I've not played it myself in some time. At some point, I'm probably going to make a no-frills transfer of the X0 cap and use that for casual viewing, so unless my kids ask me to put the PT in, it'll probably stay on the shelf (though I've not gotten ROTS yet, but for the record, my daughter did not enjoy watching it in the theater.)
"The HD-DVD format supports 15 gigabytes of space and Blu-Ray supports 25 gigabytes, according to blue-raydisc.com. The current DVD format can hold only 4.7 gigabytes. "
For the record, I used the Mainconcept encoder that came with Vegas. To complain about blockiness on a picture that, in most cases, can only be made sense of by listening to the audio and having a good memory of the events of the film, is just ridiculous. We are talking about making a pristine copy of a video that dances all over screen, has no resemblance to the original colors, and what colors there are are blooming way beyond NTSC standards! Anyone who thinks they are going to come up with an exceptionally better transfer with another encoder is not keeping in mind the reality of what a bad copy the tape is, and is really just looking for something to nitpick - or just trying to come up with a reason to get their hands on the tape.
Regardless, all we are talking about here is polishing a turd. You get what you got.
" Well, my first question was about the raw capture. Is it just one of the sets or a combination of sets already spliced together?"
The entire raw capture is just the Definitive Collection right now, but we are looking to augment it with captures of similar quality from other sources. This is why funding for more LDs and players is necessary - hence the slowdown. We're having to pick and choose how to get the best bang for our buck.
