Info Wanted: What preservation versions have Duel Layer and PCM? Will be making my own after seeing what works/doesn't work
Time
I have to agree with Matt and Jay as well. As some of you may know, I was able to create a 5.1 mix of the PCM track, and while it sounded good, it just didn't have the same characteristics of the original PCM, so no, it's not necessarily just the mix that puts one track over the other. The decade-old "DD vs. DTS" debate is a testament to this.

"On my system I have DVD Decryptor, which I normally use with DVD Shrink."

Shouldn't be necessary, as there's no copy encryption (unless you are using them to burn the DVD.)

"VTS_01_0.VOB 25mb (BitComet Incomplete Download File)"

Is this the warning that the software is giving you? How do you know it's incomplete?

Anyways, have you tried playing the DVD files by loading them in your software player? If they work, then you should be able to burn the files as they are. What kind of problems are you having, specifically?

How Did You Find OT.com?
Time
I had heard about it months before it started on TF.n. Myself and a few others were working together on some sort of petition to Lucas, and one of the guys somehow found out about Jay and his idea. The reason I have my OriginalTrilogy yahoo email address was to create a mailbox for people to respond to our own petition.

I was so ready to be one of the first people to sign Jay's, but things got really busy, and so I had to settle for being in the first thousand. It went very quick in the beginning!

"When I first saw TPM, I had no standards."

"had"?

"which says to me, lots of 'I'm too old for this shit' gags. Yawn."

"Ah, you mean like Obi-Wan in ANH? I didn't mind seeing an old Obi-Wan in ANH myself."

I believe the reference is from "Lethal Weapon".

"Because THEY ARE INTENDED BY THEIR CREATOR to be seen before ANH, ESB, and ROTJ. Sequels, on the other hand, are intended to be seen afterwords."

Then Lucas' failure has been complete for the past 30 years. Either he shouldn't have filmed them that way, or he shouldn't have released them until, say, May 20, 2005.

"(And, BTW, the Young Indy series serves as proof that Indy will not die in Indy 4, as he was shown as an old man of 93 in the Young Indy series.)"

And if film chronology is this end-all-be-all that you claim it to be, then I have to ask: Do you watch "Temple of Doom" before "Raiders of the Lost Ark"?

"By the way is there anybody who can explain to me why PAL movies are always shorter then their NTSC counterparts? The difference is usually 4 mins per 2 hours. Is there a different number of cells per second or what?"

Movies in the US are at 24 frames per second, while it is 25fps in PAL land - 4% faster (this includes the pitch of the voices as well, and has nothing to do with the fact that watching PAL for extended periods can make you a eunuch. )

US NTSC is at 30fps, but frames are added to the film so that it comes out at the same rate.
