a rumor from thedigitalbits.com...

"DVD has been out for 10 years and the fans have yet to get a nice version of the OOT on DVD, and I find it hilareous that Lucas will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of SW this year, yet he says 'that' version doesn't exist anymore? Why doesn't he just celebrate the 10th Anniversary of SW this year because that is how long 'his' versions have been viewed by the public."

This is an awesome sig.

"Gometonic finally admitted, "Well I just watched ROTJ 2006 OOT DVD on my brand new LCD TV, and you guys are right, it sucks to have to zoom it in." Ladies and Gentelmen, hell has frozen over!"

Would you please point out where this post is?!?

"this is the first time that something SW didn't sell well"

Actually, product merchandising for TPM was abysmal. Lucas complained that there was simply too much, and subsequently limited the licensing for AOTC.

"Why would he have to fix them if they were his vision finally realized?"

As is true with everyone, his vision deteriorates with age.

Win2K user here as well. The only reason I upgraded from W98 was because I needed to access files larger than 2GB. I could care less about XP and especially Vista (snort). Our laptop came with XP, and it's okay. Nothing I need to upgrade for.

The only time I needed XP was to try out Adobe Premiere Pro. Turns out the video stabilizing filter worked fine in Premiere, so that's what's on my desktop.

Of course, the last OS I paid for was Win3.11.

less QQ more pewpew, as TB said:
but you didn't see us come along and slag you off for it. Guess it's a case of do as I say, but not as I do aye?

So nice of you to come and represent the best that WOW has to offer.

I guess it's to be expected, though. In a fantasy world full of orcs, what's a few more trolls, really?

And while I can imagine how much more internet traffic we must be getting from all this than they are, I'm not really one to get worked up over such things. (And considering the kind of traffic we've received, I don't think we're the better for it.)

"and was not asked to do so by anyone at the station."

I never said this was the case. My point was that it wasn't solely due to marketing numbers or web hits that brought you guys over here. I don't know of anyone here who was drawn to this site due to following the almighty dollar.

"a small community (whos own members seem to admit to only using it as a forum and not for the reason it was made)"

LOL...it's been here for quite a few years now, and has grown since it was created. There are still boards for discussing the films, themselves, but this thread doesn't belong in them, for obvious reasons. Again, apparently unlike the WOW boards, we have found other venues to discuss, since we are multifaceted people in this regard. If you find this to be a bad thing, you are more than welcome to ask the mods to delete your account.

Have fun discussing nothing but "WOW" at WOWradio.

"Dont really think that this warcraft station is mainstream either but i dont think the petition has been either (i know i came across it by accident) so why does there need to be an argument over either site?"

Actually, the "argument" about whether or not WOW is mainstream is between TB and one of his admins. No one here even brought it up originally. Be careful whose feet you are laying blame at.

"its just forum posts on the internet, its not like Hotrod came over and hit this Total guy or the other way round, its just peoples opinions."

Actually, it is the other way around. TB can dress up his remarks all he wants, but they are, ultimately, condescending, which is why we're all having a good laugh at his expense.

"Though I do not see even him rubbishing your site as 'the saddest thing ever!', or various other childish remarks involving copious use of the word 'nerd'."

Semantics. He's obviously not portraying it in a good light, due to the even more obvious fact that he took offense to this thread. But we see what we want to see, don't we? I think Go-mer-tonic would fit in well at your site.

I'm sure if I bothered to take the time, I'd find many more threads and posts of equally negative responses creating unnecessary segregation between various social groups. Coming here and pretending that your site is a beacon of solidarity gave me as good a laugh as this thread must have given you.

"And to answer the point of how we even found you guys. This thread gave us a good number of referrals which our advertising tracker picked up on."

Considering how closely the timing of your and Thatotherguy's first post coincides with the "Star Wars Kid" thread (itself not a positive remark), I highly doubt that.

"And since when was that actually an insult?"

Actually, it was a joke.

For other references please see dictio..... - oops, your bad - thesaurus entries : antic, bon mot, buffoonery, burlesque, caper, caprice, chestnut*, clowning, dido, drollery, epigram, escapade, farce, frolic, gag, gambol, game, ha-ha*, hoodwinking*, horseplay*, humor, jape, jest, lark, laugh, mischief, monkeyshine*, mummery, one-liner*, parody, payoff, play, pleasantry, prank, pun, put-on, quip, quirk, raillery, repartee, revel, rib, sally, saw, shenanigan*, snow job*, sport, spree, stunt, tomfoolery, trick, vagary, whimsy, wisecrack*, witticism, yarn.

And I've not watched a SW film in a long, long time. Well over a few years now. There are other things that "SW" fans can discuss besides "SW". You did notice that this thread is in the "Off Topic" forum? Surely, not all the threads at your boards are all-WOW-encompassing, or did I just give you a new idea?

"Y'see little ones, this is the internet. You'd have to be incredibly insecure to give a damn about 'being a nerd' on it. There's 8 million people playing WoW. It's practically mainstream."

Agreed. We were flamed, oh well, these things happen. It doesn't do any good whatsoever to start ranting and raving about their inadequacy just because they have a different point of view on the idea of an internet radio station dedicated to the World of Warcraft. We really are a niche, not some mainstream station that the general populous knows and accepts. - Cadwallion

Not only were you so insecure that you did give a damn, but another admin at your own site apparently doesn't agree with you in regards to the "mainstream" idea you seem to espouse (I don't see nearly as many WOW references in popular entertainment as SW references, but that's just me.) That guy seems a lot more level-headed, and not nearly as miffed, as you are. I might add, also, that you brought the fight here. You should have taken his advice.

Then again, it's apparently your radio station, so a personal, emotional response is to be expected. I'm sure we can expect more in regards to this post as well, all hidden behind the "more attention for me and my website" charade. Here's a tip: get a puppy.

And "Little ones"? LOL. So much for dropping stereotypes. Too bad we can't live in a world where people can have a difference of opinion - oops, except for Cadwallion, that is. I hope he doesn't lose his posting privileges for that breach of solidarity.

[EDIT]

Oh, and Fluffy said:

has recently consisted of nothing more than whining about the release not being in anamorphic widescreen (which I found quite odd, because surely if you want the original, you cannot then want it improved with anamorphic widescreen, which was not in the original print

Since I don't want to be a member of your website, you might want to pass this link along from the Star Wars website :

I'd hate to see someone going around making clear their ignorance of Star Wars and theatrical terms in general, and on your own boards, no less.

"Sitting in this forum, complaining about the suitability of others to save you from the problems of the world is a tad "head in your ass" isn't it?"

You've just described the idiocy of your own presence at these boards.

"what qualifies you to sit in such judgement?"

This question goes both ways.

"Let me just say that you guys give me more to worry about for the future than anyone who attends naked keggers."

All I have to say is:

George Lucas interview - 29th October 1979

" in a tangible way I can't refute."

ROTFLMFAO....YOU REFUTE EVERYTHING!

Do you really think people don't notice? Your own .sig. gives away your motives, as well as the inevitable result of your responses. You are such a fucking joke.

"I didn't nay say the scripts, I merely said that all it proves is that Lucas didn't write down "Episode IV A New Hope" on any of them until 1979. It doesn't prove Lucas hadn't thought of that before that point in time."

A lack of evidence BEYOND THAT ALREADY GIVEN doesn't help your stance at all, except in your own mind. This is not a fucking court of law, moron. Until YOU can prove Lucas thought about it but never wrote it down (what a fucking joke), then this is just yet another worthless Hail Mary attempt on your part to deny what is factual and in print.

Again, you lose.

"So what if i give Lucas the benefit of the doubt? I just personally don't feel right in accusing someone of something based soley on the cynical assumptions of his detractors."

Again, for those who want to defend Go-mer, his opinion of folks here is once again made clear as day.

He's not here to discuss Star Wars, folks. He's here to parody you guys and derail threads.

And with that, I'm off to Disneyland. As to coming back to these boards, don't hold your beaths. As much as I love OT.COM. I'm tired of defending these boards against ilk of this nature.

What, so you can twist anything brought up into some make-believe conversation in order to wiggle out of it?

You are going to give Lucas every benefit of the doubt regardless, no matter what is given to you. This is your purpose. It is your life-long goal.

It is your religion, and you will not be shaken from it. You've been shown the scripts in another thread, and you naysay those. There's nothing you won't naysay for GL. So what, then, is the point, if you keep setting and jumping over ridiculous hurdles?

" I was parodying you guys...."[SNIP]

Exactly. This is all you do at these boards.

"Either way it was meant to sound asinine, so I don't see the problem."

Believe me, there's no problem with you sounding asinine.

"If you want, you can derail..."

LOL. You're one to talk.

"but it's a pretty transaprant attempt to avoid adressing my request for proof that Lucas is lying here."

No, it's a pretty transparent attempt to save what's left of these boards as a whole.

LOL....so desperate to make your case.

"You know, now that I think about it, maybe Empire was originally going to be called "Blue Harvest", but Lucas managed to revise history at the last moment before it went to print. "

You know, now that I think about it, "Blue Harvest" referred to ROTJ, not ESB. But again, many of your arguments show an extreme lack of knowledge about Star Wars and Lucas in general. Then again, ignorance provides much more ammunition when one makes it one's life goal to give Lucas the benefit of the doubt for every single fucking mistake.

What are supposed to be debates here are a religious conquest to you. You are the #1 Hari Krishna of Lucas.

Of course, yet another indication of your ignorance is not understanding the history of "Blue Harvest", which is to say it was used to keep fans of SW and ESB from encroaching on the filming of ROTJ.

So either you don't know the real motive of Lucas here, which puts your stance to utter shame (at least you are consistent), or you are deliberately throwing out a bullshit statement against those who slander your God, because you have nothing of substance left to offer - which, of course, is almost textbook troll behavior.

Either way, you lose.

I know that many naysayed me, including you , when I said many moons ago that your only reason for being here was to troll. As I expected, the honeymoon didn't last long, and people here have certainly wised up to your sly ways - much as TF.n did when they finally smartened up and gave you, yet again, a ban for the very same behavior, and a looooooooong one at this. Too bad these boards can't benefit from experience.

It's nice to be vindicated, but the reality is the vindication sucks for these boards. Stop attacking the non-believers, Go-mer. It only makes you look pathetic. You'll find no sanctuary here.

Some humorous quotes:

"The only difference between what I am speculating between the lines and what the rest of you are speculating between the lines is I give Lucas the benefit of the doubt."

"Speculating between the lines"? Don't you mean "between the quotes". Lucas is saying this shit, not us.

"While I hope to improve people's opinion of what Lucas did, I don't expect to be able to mind trick anyone into it. I'm no Jedi."

More of a Sith, and you are certainly at the wrong boards for this sort of thing, as you not only know so well, but is even proven by yet another quote. For those seeming to defend Go-mer's posting here, see my .sig. This is what he really thinks of you.

Info: 2006 GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM Sound?
Time
" PCM audio is not a legal format."

Uhm...yes, it is.

"If I remember correctly tr47 had PCM captured with coax cables and cowclops v2 has PCM captured digitally. That's why I want to use the PCM audio of cc v2 because I think it's an exact digital copy. I hope someone can confirm this."

I don't know about them, but I captured mine digitally (optical).

"MeBeJedi's ANH prototype (seeded by Blaksvn@myspleen) has a PCM track which he ripped from his Faces set using his Pioneer 701's optical fiber output."

Nice to see someone remembers. //sniffle

It also has my 5.1 soundtrack.
