What happened to the Gomer Tronic-something user?
Time
"I guess during all this time of members demanding his banishment all that they ever needed to do was devote a thread to him and he would disappear."

"I really hope he's got himself a nice girl now. And other stuff."

As I said long ago...the only reason he was here was because he was banned at TF.n. Now that the ban is lifted, he's gone. He was just here to cause trouble. Nothing more.

Do you believe in aliens?
Time
Yeah, but it's kind of a bunk argument.

"It's so BIG, so there MUST be something else out there."

Our solar system is big in itself, and there's nothing living there aside from us. Doesn't mean there's nothing, of course, but it doesn't prove there's something there either. Just show me the aliens.

Well, I don't think the immense size of the galaxy proves there is life elsewhere, but considering the huge range of life found on Earth, I can't imagine why "life" couldn't exist elsewhere in the galaxy.

Otherwise, it seems like a lot of wasted space to me.

And who says the aliens want to be seen?

Info: The LID Project: Laserdisc is dead.
Time
"For AC3, you must use a demodulator, because the signal from the player is (analog?)"

It's a digital signal embedded in an analog carrier. FM modulation is added so that it can be stored on the laserdisc. Thus, it must be demodulated for playback.

The modulators people by to connect a DVD player to a TV that only has a RF input do the opposite. It adds FM modulation (usually for channel 3 or 4) to the composite or S-Video signal so that the television can receive it.
