The problem I have with the VFX of Rey’s Sith eyes in Starlight, is that they don’t really look like Sith eyes to me.
Status on the chapters?
I’m further behind than I should be. I’ve been distracted, and have had some bad habits on procrastinating lately. I’m currently working on Chapter 15.
While I typically don’t do ranking often, mainly because our opinions change all of the time, it is funny how much it can change overtime. Here is my new ranking of the films.
Kill Bill is an incredible two part epic from mastermind writer and director, Quentin Tarantino. However, there is something about it that didn’t quite sit right with me, and the was the narrative structure.
Volume 1 has a lot of action, whereas Volume 2 has very little action, but much more story and character development. While Tarantino is known for non-chronological storytelling, I don’t think he did as good of a job here as he did with Pulp Fiction.
My intention here is not to replace Volumes 1 and 2 the way they were made, but rather present an alternate version of Kill Bill, condensed into one feature length film, with its narrative re-structured in a more traditional way.

The ending will not be altered from the regular version of Ascendant. It’s the same ol’ Ascendant, just that Rey is never established to be descended from Palpatine, and that her parents presumably are as TLJ describes them and don’t factor into this story.
I can’t wait to see how the parents angle will play here if their still drunkards.
Have you thought about using the Wampa shot from Adywan’s version? It looks so much better compared to the original shot, where it looks like it’s sliding along?
Adywan did a good job removing Yavin IV from the SE shot of the fighters approaching the Death Star. You should check it out, and possibly use it in the next version of ANH.
I think Hal’s said that continuity errors don’t bother him if they were in the film originally. Doesn’t the pre-SE shot have Yavin IV in it too or am I misremembering?
That is true. One of the things that makes Adywan’s work so impressive is how he has really payed attention to the tiniest details. There are some creative changes he’s made that I disagree with, but overall, an incredible piece of work.
On a side note, I’d like to know how Mos Eisley is going. I don’t know what the plan is, but I could pitch my own scenario for how it plays out.
Oh well. Just an idea that came into my head.

ALTERATION:

After that cues Rey looking at the Battle of Exegol, as Palatine is referring to the Resistance, as it’s a reveal that they are here as well to her.

Hi Master Lawdog. Awesome work you are doing. I am a big fan of theatrical audiobooks and loved listening to Phil Dragash’s Lord of the rings and Bluefax’s the Hobbit. But my favorite book series by far is Harry Potter.
I’ve only listened to Jim Dale’s audiobook so I am very much excited to listen to Stephen Frys version WITH all these great additions you’re making.I already found your work elsewhere so I don’t think there is a reason to send me a PM like I see here?

I know people have done color corrections and such, but I’d like to see someone take the 4K remasters, and completely color grade them so the colors look proper. I think Adywan’s color grading looks terrific, as it looks clear to see, colorful in the right places it should be, yet not too over saturated.
A New Hope looks the best of the three, though a little too dull. The Empire Strikes Back never looked good color wise in 4K, and Return of the Jedi, while it wasn’t transferred out of focus like the 2004/2011 remaster, it still looks too dark and desaturated. I remember how bright and colorful the Sail Barge Assault originally looked.
Also, something that has rarely been said about the 4K remasters is the film grain, and that’s because there really isn’t any. It’s the same issue the 2011 Blu-rays of the Prequels had, where it looks too soft looking.
I gotta be honest, I’m not really a fan of the color grading on the 4K release, especially of The Empire Strikes Back.

Why? The lack of eyebrows makes more sense. Even in just the context of the OT Vader was always supposed to have gotten a lava bath.

I would love to get a link to these. I just started getting into audiobooks, went through some incredibly atmospheric star wars ones only to be a little disappointed when I got to Potter with the lack of production. This sounds incredible and exactly what I wanted!

I’ve been a little busy and at times distracted, but I’m getting there. I actually got a chapter done yesterday. As of right now, the first thirteen chapters are done. I’m going to try getting back to work on the project once I get some other things done, one of those being going out to see The Secrets of Dumbledore.
