Bill Hunt's review of Episode 3
Time
Quote

While simultaneously saying how happy he was to have the OT on DVD, regardless of the changes. I saw this type of behavior a lot after the box set's release--heavy hitters like Bill Hunt screaming their lungs out about the travesty of the SEs suddenly being very happy just to get the OT on DVD at all. A certain person at hometheaterforum.com did the same thing.

i think this is the exact point i was trying to get across...
when people say they don't agree with Lucas not releasing the originals and then go out and buy his shitty SE's anyway you wonder why he's not releasing them...
cuz people like Hunt have no backbone....

if he really believed in what he wrote about back when he was supporting this petition and site he wouldn't have pulled such a 180 and started talking about how great it was that the trilogy was finally over... that he feels satisfied and that he's been waiting for this day....
oh BS...
keep kissin ass bud...

i may not come to this forum that often or even post anymore... but i try and mention this place at least once a week on other forums... chat rooms... online games even as a signature at the bottom of all my emails...

many still dont have faith in the petition... but i do.. hell it keeps me busy until we get our originals..

*luke sits in corner..
"the orignals are coming... ohhhh they're coming alright... muahahhaaha

The Warriors
Time
at least they made the original cut of the Warriors available on dvd though...
unlike star wars...

as for the game is being done by Rockstar Toronto... Rockstar being the same people who did the Grand Theft Auto series...
it's released sometime in October..

as for the changes between the two i heard they're are many audio and music changes as well as scenes taken out of the movie replaced with some sort of comic book looking fades..
dont ask me what that means but i read it on the warriors uk site

Okay so this is a thread for people who have seen the original and the directors cut...
try not to spoil anything in here for people who havent seen it...

heard a lot about this movie lately and im really interested in seeing it now.

my question is this.

1 - which did you think was better?
2 - which version should a person watch if they're watching it for the first time?
3 - can the original version still be bought on DVD or has it been discontinued?

any help here would be great!
thanks guys

Bill Hunt's review of Episode 3
Time
i figured i would put this in off topic because its more less a flame on his review for Revenge of the Sith...
Seen here

im sure you can read it for yourself and realize how much of an ass kisser he is...
i mean the man praises everyone in the movie for their acting... which we all know is a load of BS...
one reason why i hardly go to the digital bits anymore.... dvdtimes blows the bits out of the water.... no doubt...

anyway read it for yourself... and give your opinion...

and i just want to add... Bill Hunt is an asshat.

The original trilogy is widely available in numerous formats for your enjoyment, get it, burn it, watch it and shut up about it.

is it really?
tell me where can i purchase a legit copy of the original unaltered trilogy in 5.1 Dolby Digital, with a resolution that is far superior to a laserdisc?
what's that? i cant?

well then you should be more careful with what you say.

these numerous formats you speak of are VHS and Laserdisc, so really there's not numerous formats. Just 2.

feel free to do the shutting up about it for me. i will continue to express my opinion about how big of an ass Lucas is.

you and your fellow conformist consumers can continue grazing the fields on Skywalker Ranch with none other than Lucas as your shepherd.
not me though.

BAHHHHH!!

THE ALL NEW PSYCHO REVIEW HAS MOVED
Time
im still gonna pick sin city up.
It's got 5.1 DTS which is all that matters to me, which i have a feeling they're gonna leave out on the 2 disc due to space restrictions.

Other than that im waiting for the directors cut of these 3 stories.
There were numerous scenes that were left out, and RR has already said they will be included on a later edition.

Unless he surprises us and throws that on the 2 disc.

thats what im hoping for!

Simpsons Season 6
Time
So i held it in my hands tonight at work and checked it out. Other than the fact that the box art is ugly as sin and wont match the others in the collection, it's the 6th season and prolly one of their best!

so then i came home too see what Fox thinks of everyone bashing they're cover art and i came across these..

not sure if they're fake or not but i know fox has already asked people to pull these images off their forums (if this causes and controversy Jay feel free to take them off)
just figured you guys would want to see them.

Also visit the following site for more info on the season 6 box.
They've got some great images of the set and all its details.

Season 6

They also confirm that there is a flyer inside the set itself saying something about "for those anal retentive nerds who wish to keep all their DVDs matching on their shelves... blah blah blah.. basically they send you a slipcase that matches the previous seasons as long as you mail or fax them a copy of your upc and reciept.

So ya.
Just wanted to share that with those who want this to match their other seasons like i do.
I would hate to see threads popping up in here about this at a later date, so just a heads up for those who want to send away!

Did George actually have an "original vision?"
Time
man i dont see why i bother voicing my opinion on a topic like this because i've done it many times before...

the truth of the matter is... the prequels ruined any consistancy that the OT had!!
BOTTOM LINE!!

i don't care if you dont agree because it is a proven fact that everything that came out of the prequels has made lucas go back and alter his OT...
once again if that wasnt true then he would have wrote the story around the OT and not the OT around the PT.

so fact is that Lucas never had an original vision about 6 movies...
no way in hell!!
you can say what you will but he didn't.

did he have an original vision about the OT itself.
in a way yes. but as others have pointed out, luke and vader father and son and luke and leia brother and sister prolly were added in there during the process of filming the trilogy.
