Reminder: Empire of Dreams on now
Time
i think the part which really hit me hard was when they showed the opening day lineups with that music playing in the background... along with people of the film remembering how the audience took it...

one of them said they remember the crowd giving a standing ovation...
that hit me hard as to how big this movie must have been...
hell ive seen people clap during the end of a movie... but to give a standing ovation... those are given at opera's and musicals... this was a movie and was given that sort of respect by its audience...

amazing

Reminder: Empire of Dreams on now
Time
i just finished watching it...
i posted my feelings in the other thread but i guess ill repost them here...

i feel that ESB and ROTJ were totally screwed for air time...

SW practically got 1 hour (if you want to get technical approx 45 min)
ESB 30 min
ROTJ 20 min

i thought most of it was pretty neat... but they're still lacking on the behind the scenes stuff that was included in "from star wars to jedi: the making of a saga"
and they used SE footage when talking about the films that dazzled audiences...

cough cough bullshit cough cough

Irvin Kershner on Special Editions
Time
"Next up was Irvin Kershner, the director of The Empire Strikes Back, with some interesting comments about his role in making the second Star Wars film. The first question had to do with his opinion on the changes made for the special edition (yes, this crowd definitely favored the originals!), to which Kershner replied that he really didn't feel that the film was changed at all: there was just the added snow monster, the new window views in the city, and enhanced color and sound. From his point of view, it was clearly perfectly fine and nothing to even consider as significant. "

what we didnt hear...

Lucas' voice from an earpiece in Kershner during that statement

GL: don't worry, your doing fine... just stick to the script and nothing happens.... thats right big smiles.... everybody's happy... just ignore the sniper who has you in his sight...

Star Wars TV Series Confirmed & Hamill Talks 7, 8 and 9
Time
wow!
strange thing is i've heard of this... but it was a long time ago...
my friend went on vacation to Italy where he ended up bumping into someone who worked for Lucasfilm...

being the fan my friend was he started up a conversation with him instantly and was told to look for a Star Wars TV mini series sometime in the future..
he didnt know much about it but speculated it would take place after Return of the Jedi given some of the memos going around Lucasfilm...

this could be BS or just a simple coincidence...
either way im going to talk to my friend

wasnt it confirmed earlier that this site does not translate into other languages...
therefore we're only getting signatures from english speaking fans...

just think of other languages...
French, Mandarin, German, Italian, Spanish...
hell there could be another 60,000 sigs for each language for all we know...

i'm gonna be honest with you...
i'm also very tempted by these...

but for once im gonna make a stand in my life... for something i believe in...
not many people can say they've resisted such an urge... but now i can say i have after September 21st...

and when i think about every other DVD i've bought... they all make me 100% happy...
theres not one thing i dislike in any of my titles...

so why should i purchase a movie that i wont enjoy watching 100%...
thats just stupidity... sure it looks good and sounds great but whats that without any substance...

i might as well go to a McDonalds and buy a meal i wont end up enjoying... or hell why not buy a car that doesnt have the features i like...
if you can honestly say that you don't like the changes in these movies but still end up buying them....
i feel it shows the impact that Lucas really does have on you...

damn i knew i should have waited!!
lol
i only sat there pealing that thing off for about an hour... but thankfully it came off perfect with no flaws...
they did the same thing with one of the simpsons seasons...
