An article of lies and disgust - George Lucas talks re the 2004 OT SE DVD release...
Time
awwwwwwwww bonding...
i admit i've been rather harsh on here too lately...

but im kinda thinking about just calling it quits...
i find myself getting more and more stressed as i visit these boards... and now that September 21st has hit...
Star Wars news is going to be few and far away...

but im not sure yet...
im gonna make a thread announcing my permanent departure if i do end up leaving....
i think ive just lost any care i have left for these movies...

we'll see

PG-13 Revenge of the Sith

The Yoda fight kicked all ass. I love to death seeing that little guy fight. I felt like a kid again when I felt so full of life. Growing up with this character and then seeing him go out and show why he is the Jedi master was the absolute best. In my opinion seeing Yoda fight alone was worth the ticket price.

you felt like a kid again?
so like 3 or 4 years ago.....
growing up with this character????
when did you become a senior citizen??
lol

astroturfer... hehe
thx molly

I have been taken by the dark side
Time
don't forget about the audio screw ups...
this just shows how half assed this DVD was...

AUDIO MISTAKES

1) The familiar Force theme trumpet fanfare that used to play right after Red Leader says: "This is it!" and just as the X-wings start diving towards the Death Star's surface has been dialed back in volume so that it's almost inaudible - it's almost completely buried in the surround mix.

2) The audio quality varies wildly as Tarkin says the line: "You would prefer another target, a military target? Then name the system." - almost as if the master sound element was damaged.

3) Also, John Williams' score for the film seems to have been flipped in the rear channels, so that what should be the left rear channel seems to be playing from the right rear channel (and vise versa). What this means is that the rear channels don't match the front channels - instruments heard from the front right channel come from the left rear instead of the right rear. It's hard to notice, but we're getting a number of reports from people hearing this.

These problems would seem to be severe enough to merit a repressing/exchange of the disc. We're waiting to hear back from Lucasfilm on this issue and we'll update this review with the details as soon as we do.]

LUCAS' EXPLANATION

"We are always impressed with how closely fans listen to the many different sound mixes we have made for the Star Wars movies over the years. It is flattering to know that, indeed, the audience is listening. Consequently, each mix comes out differently and any changes that you hear on the all-new Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX tracks on the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set are deliberate creative decisions. We can confirm that there are no technical glitches as reported."

well to be honest with you i dont even believe jimbo exists..

the guy has no details... i guess he's afraid of either getting bombarded with hate mail or virus' from people who dont like him or his views
he cant possibly be serious about half the things he says
and he says he's 16 but inhabits the maturity of a 10 year old..

hey im not saying he doesnt mean well or he's not a good guy...
but man if i ever had a friend like him i would kick my own ass

Changes in 2004 DVDs
Time
im gonna end that rant by thanking the people who enjoyed it because only they know the frustration one must feel....

second i want to let people like Luke30 know what the definition of a fanboy is
someone who will support Lucas no matter what the man does.... they are a fanboy of Lucas... so all this calling us fanboys makes no sense and just really makes yourself look stupid... we are purists (if thats what you want to call us)

to the person who asked if all these pro-SE people are going to leave once they get their DVDs...
i say i sure as hell hope so...
i have nothing against you guys as people who prefer the SE.... but now that you have what you want.... would it really hurt to try and help fans of the same movies get the versions they want?
or are you that greedy that only you may be happy in this world...

RANT OVER...

actually he got a response from Lucas on those audio problems...

never have i heard such bullshit come out of ones mouth...
they fucked the DVDs up and since its such an anticipated release they dont want to bother with a recall...

i guess that prevents Lucas from losing any money..

I would disagree with that. How exactly are we supposed to know who that kid was? Not to mention that you'd be pissed that they would be replacing that kid with Hayden.

thats the point though...
Lucas never wanted it to be that way until now...
jimbo has just turned his back on his mentor... lol

still doesnt explain how Luke recognizes Hayden though jimbo...
so Lucas still screws up
